Just because you haven't heard how crazy some companies can get about their IP doesn't mean none of them ever is. Take Games Workshop for example -- they can go as far as take down pictures from eBay auctions people hold for their tabletop miniatures. Obviously they aren't able to take down all, but that doesn't stop them from doing that.

The argument of "look there's stuff out there and no one cares" is problematic because neither of us can show the stuff that isn't there (anymore) because someone did care. But if you honestly believe nothing ever gets taken down from the intertubes on basis of copyright violation, you're fooling yourself.

Yeah, I'm glad I am computer illterate. I was planning on making like, a tattoo and/or designing costumes (putting that desiiignnnn degree to use!) But toolset frustrates me silly and I'm not smart enough for it. Instead I write and draw dwarves. And use toolset for lolfanfic to check on things. That's about it.

To rectify. I was merely giving a suggestion regarding a song I think fitting, don't rightly care or not that much if you use it or not.

Of course I don't believe that, as I have seen it happen. However it is very rare indeed, and from that to an actual legal process is an even longer road.

But besides....Two Steps from Hell does NOT care if people use their songs....most of their revenue comes from making those songs for trailers not selling them.

I think using the game music helps to tie it into the game. I know that Leliana's song is a dirge, but it doesn't sound like it in that context. I think it's fine for a game/movie to reprise a theme in a different mood. I imagine that it would be easier to use something that's already in the toolset as well.

Heh, even bug fix mods get it. My negative endorsement for ZDF? Someone got mad that I restored the "ferelden dogs" banter. She asked me to remove it, I said I would have to think about the best way to go about it, and about 6 hours later she dinged me. I have since put out a version where that wouldn't trigger, but geez, all I did was repair a bug. The writers wrote the actual lines!

To give my strongest argument. There is a video on WCM.com that has over 2 million viewers, and yet the author did NOT ask for permission to use the over one hundred songs he did in it. And to this day after almost 2 years, no legal action has been taken.

While technically illegal, companies will not take legal action against a fan movie/mod. In fact it is BENEFICIAL for them to allow such movies to be published unhindered, as people will then ask about the Soundtrack and thus the company will get more sales from people buying those songs.

WMG is the exception, but WMG did not take action against movie creators on youtube, but it took action against youtube to remove those songs....and in the end WMG and Youtube reached an agreement. ( because having a trial is an expensive and lengthy affair )

Keep in mind Disney has gone after personal websites, email groups etc for using THEIR images. You just never know who's going to get shirty.

Agreed, we love you for this Charsen. (yes, I'm using 'we', because I'm sure everyone agrees)

I was thinking about asking for a wedding ring with some nice stats (like the earring), but there is a lot of 'junk' in the game that is already good and the earring itself is also very good, so maybe not a good idea.. I'm rambling. ._.

And I'm going to rant for a while..
I have been playing my CE and now I'm kinda mad at myself for some things and I'm going to share it. v.v'
- I wanted to preserve the Anvil, but after Caridian said 'your people have been enslaved for centuries, would you wish that on someone else?' (paraphrased), I could no longer do it.
- I thougt I had finished practically every quest with my human mage, but apparently I did not. ><
- I hate myself for defiling the Ashes with my human mage, because I missed Wynnes personal quest, her connection to the Fade Spirit and some other crap with her.
- I'm thinking about creating a new human mage, only to do all the Wynne stuff again.
- My human male wants to romance Morrigan, but I have no clue how her romance works so I'm messing it up big time.

I'm done.. yay for the wedding mod.

well right now i am going to use the song from the end credits that tmp, tell and a few others suggested-- i edited it to remove the lulzy angst rock music at the end and now i'm about to actually add it to the toolset, which is a kind of an awkward process... i think game music, at least right now, is easiest for me since it is already of the right genre and of the right sound quality too. it's just easier for me to deal with right now so i can concentrate on the scenes (but i do appreciate the suggestions and might look at it when the mod is otherwise done)

i am going to start the dwarf scene next, when i square off the music import i have devised a hack plan to also allow for a separate scene area for the lovemaking session, so i can have the ceremony in one "area" and the lovemaking in a nice big dwarven bed in a different "area". (it's a workaround - i am actually editing in several lengths and cuts of the leliana end song with fade ins and outs.)

so i am going to look for dwarven locations next... suggestions? where is my dwarfipedia?!

Otherwise there is Harrowmont's place and the DC's house IIRC, if you want a bed that is.

Once you turn down the massage, he doesn't offer again.  HOWEVER, if you use dialog tweaks, the conversation is nice enough, it really doesn't matter.

You will always have to proposition him at least once, though, to get his declaration of feelings and the second earring offer.
