I have been playing my CE for a while and I have reached the Landsmeet..

I fought Taliesin and Zevran suddenly started saying that it might be time to leave, I freaked out because I thought he was leaving, thank god he could be persuaded to stay. ._.
Finished the Alienage and Alistair's comments on the wedding part were 'nice', is Zevran's response better? I'm waiting with the Zev romance because I want Alistair to dump my CE first, but I would love to see Zev's response to the wedding part so I might play that part again.

It's not that I don't like the masks but.. they are so big. o.o

yes the masks are big. i'm going to look at editing them but i haven't done 3D editing in a while. sadly you can't scale objects in the toolset.... would be great if you could. i have been to and seen ceremonies with large masks IRL, so i didn't think much of it but i will be working on it.

i am still researching this so i might end up scrapping it entirely anyway

I think the masks are very cool idea, I like it. But yes, they need downscale. It's not that they are big, but they lack detail (in comparison to characters armor e.g.) and thus look like in wrong scale.



btw I am back and squee at everything that occurred during last four days..

Agreed, I actually like the idea of the masks. It gives a very "Dalish" feel to the affair, and that's nice since people say the Dalish have the least developed origin. That said, yeah, they'd need to be scaled down, and I dunno if that'll be too much of a hassle. :/ If it is, you could always just have them naked...



Oh, also, for audience members, it needs to be very Disney-esque where all the animals of the wild gather around to watch, and there is peace in the forest (bears lying down halla etc etc) due to this joyous celebration. Am I serious? Of course I am. That would be EPIC.

The masks look kind of .... large. Wondering about the Dalish wearing masks.....



And on another note, just threatened the Reverend Mother in Lothering.....wow to the approval hit from Alistair! Have only about 25% of Lothering to go, and my whole dialogue tree for Alistair, and he's at 31 Hostile......thankfully he needs the other warden.....or I'd almost be afeared he'd chop off her head while she was sleeping!



How I wish there was banter between warden and zevran if Alistair was at negative and zev was at positive to make jabs at Alistair within his hearing....

The masks look very much like the 'corrupted halla skulls' and whatnot used in the darkspawn totems. They might look a little less sinister if they were lightened or maybe decorated?

Hmm, that's true. The masks would look good if they were white--not "oh I'm so pure and Christian" white but rather "hey we worship the halla and they're white" white. But now we're talking about resizing *and* recoloring, which is just us being unappreciative and greedy little buggers who take our wonderful Charsen for granted.

So yeah, better off just making them naked. Maybe throw in an orgy, too--I hear Zev likes those. And don't forget the halla and the bears cuddling. If none of this is customary of typical Dalish weddings, well, I don't really care. Once they find out how insanely awesome it is they'll convert, I'm sure of it.

I can't figure out if I like them or not.  I think I need to see them in action.  Okay, so part of me just wants to see them in action for the squee factor, but still.

Maybe it's just me, but those masks make me think of some horror film, lol. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, only with skulls instead of skin. Ferelden Chainsaw Massacre? Would certainly put a...different spin on the wedding ceremony!

The masks... I actually liked the video; they do work. But one thing that was so nice about the dwarf ceremony were the expressions on the DN and Zevran's faces -- there was so much love there. OTOH, the masks make it seem a lot more tribal, which I also like.

Finished the Landsmeet and Alistair dumped my CE so I went after Zevran.. and I hated it.
It's no fun to have so little time to explore the romance, I liked the non-sexual comments about Taliesin and the ring, but it felt wrong.
I'm going to replay the Alienage but this time with Zev as the love interest, Alistair's comments there are pretty nice, but I want to know what Zev has to say.

I agree Ramante, using Zev as a rebound after the Landsmeet if/when Alistair dumps you makes the Zevran romance feel very hurried......heck, after the landsmeet, if you don't have a bunch of sidequests to finish up, it's like an hour or two of gameplay left



Just installed the 1.7 version of EJ's Zev updates and the gatekiss. Looking forward to playing the game with all the fixes But I forgot to add Charsen's get Zev early mod before I went to Lothering.



there seems to be some new/more party banter? I decided to go straight to the tower, and the companions have been al ittle more chatty than normal. Or is this just me not remembering what the early stages of the game are like?

I could never start Zevran's romance after Alistair dumped me at the Landsmeet because it REALLY makes him seem like you just want to be with someone or you're using him to get back at Alistair. It definitely makes it clear that he's not as good as Alistair in your eyes since you had the chance to go after him before you started something/got too far with Alistair but chose your fellow Warden and now that he's unavailable suddenl you're interested in Zevran.

I LOL because it's true.  My HNF tried exactly this.  She was incensed that he'd toss aside the non-physical parts of their relationship along with the physical ones.  So she'd show him, by gum!

And got totally, utterly ignored.    Burn!

I'm not sure if I managed to turn off all the romance options early (No, Zevran, you may not ogle me and no, I will not give you a kiss for answering a simple question) or if it was because we were in Eamon's Estate, which I thought was just like Camp but apparently isn't.

Maybe a compromise? Could make the masks into headdresses instead, so we can keep the tribal feel *and* see their faces? I know I'd like to see my DE's and Zev's faces.

Then again, there's no mention of masks in Dalish customs at all, so it still feels a little bizarre to me. Especially since there weren't any odd accessories in any of the other weddings (well, except for that Aeducan shield, but that's not odd). You might say that it's because we don't have enough details about Dalish lore...but we don't really have that many more details about dwarven lore. For all we know, they wear rock belts or necklaces for their weddings or something.

There should be a bit more banter, but I'm not sure you should have it yet since what I restored was a bunch of Zevran/Alistair, a Zevran/Leliana, and four Shale/Ogrhen.

I also agree that Zevran's romance doesn't work as well as a rebound romance.  You miss the whole "let's try to pretend what's happening isn't" that you get when you do the romance slowly.  And there's a sweetness, and his obvious happiness as he's feelings get deeper, that you just don't get when doing it as a rebound.
