Yeah, mostly in the bottom right 7/8 of the picture. Hard to spot if you aren't looking for them.

The spice melange, it's so cinnamon sweet,

I put it on most everything I eat.

It's addictive, too,

And don't it make my brown eyes blue.

"Crystal Gale Killed Frank Herbert," Tom Smith.

Ok, after getting a few hours into the Witcher, I have this to say:

Amazing game. I am enjoying it, and I will finish it I'm pretty sure. However, I am NOT the character -- I am playing him. That's ok. It's fun anyway and I do care about the outcomes.

Also, the sex card thing is stupid. In fact, it pisses me off. But not enough for me not to play the game. I HOPE that sex is handled a bit more maturely in the Witcher 2.

Well, I have to say that the game gets a little less good as you reach the ending IMO.

And it is very much not your character, hence why I still only have one playthrough. There isn't that much that changes.

yeah Geralt is very much not your character for one simple reason...the games based on a series of polish book unlike dragon age where your a blank slate just about in the witcher your playing a character from the novels

Hmmmm. I'm not very far into it at all, just a few hours (and I play slowly). Graphics are beautiful; I like the voices actually as well. There are definitely some unique elements as well. But yeh, I can see being finished with it after it's done; that's ok too. I'm holding judgement on depth for now.

Edit: Good point, CZ.  One thing I've noticed is really, my dialog choices don't get the variety of reactions that DA's do.  I make choices, get information, and that's that.  There are SOME variations, but not too often.

have you gotten to the city yet Ej? IMO thats where the game really starts picking up once your past the intro area and through the farm lands

edit: you almost might want to try Planescape torment afte rthis, once you get past the first few areas the game is amazing

very little combat and LOT and LOTs of dialogue, infact all the important stats are the non combat stats (wisdom,Intelligance and charisma) and 90% of the exp you get is from dialogue

edit again: like the witcher PST has you play a set character however its ALOT more dialoge focused (infact theres only about 4 required fights in the game) and I love the planescape setting its somuch more interesting than the sword coast in dnd

Not the depht, I just think that it gets weird at a certain point.

I love the game though.

I'm still in chapter 1 (only a few hours in!); I'm looking for the Reverend right now as he's not where the map marker says he is. The bribery system is interesting, but the inventory system is weird. I do like Alchemy and such. I can tell this is going to be a game I put at least 50 hours into, so for a $20 game, I have zero complaints!

My son's friends and gf have all left for the week, so he is playing DA again...anonther HNF (I am jokingly calling him Princess Couscous =P). I wandered past as he was talking to Lel and noticed the conversation choices he was making and said, "So you're going to romance Lel this time around?" He looked at me all confused and asked me what I was talking about. Twenty minutes later he was yelling about the freaky ninja-loving bard. =P

Hi folks!

How have you been?

It has been a busy period for me, with the University and all. But now DA2 announcement has brough me back and I already started playing DA:O again, starting with 'Leliana's Song,' which I actually find to be the finest DLC to date. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a similar DLC focused on Zevran! :D

Glad to be back!

When you start making choices in chapter 1 or 2 that have effects in chapter 3-4-5 ( as in almost 10-30 hours latter ) then you are going to realize what it has in depth.

A few tips: Consider each choice you make. Very few things are good or bad. Most of them are grey....you might make a choice that seems the right one but after 4 hours you realize it was wrong....it might be easy to kill a certain NPC because you hate them but later on you realize you where just playing the game of Salamandra....

( and when you realize who the final boss REALLY is, then that will strike a cord. Did for me....)

Here is the witcher wiki...contains all one needs to know, heh. http://witcher.wikia...ki/Witcher_Wiki

P.S. In the Witcher 2 Trailer see a cutscene with Geralt and Triss about to have sex....not sure if it will work the same for all those you can have sex with it, but it does show promise.

P.S.2 When you are nearing the end of Chapter 1, be sure to have a Blizzard and Swallow potions...the final boss in that chapter is a pain in the ass.

@AndreaDraco Good to see you! *hugs*

@Witcher players One thing I am not seeing is hp of enemies when fighting them. Is there any way to gauge how much damage you've done (not the floating text, because that means nothing if you don't know hp). I'm hoping it's something obvious I'm missing :/

@ejoslin: hello dear! *hugs back*

I see you're playing The Witcher. Both me and my boyfriend played it (he enjoyed it much more than I did), but -- and this is where DA2 comes into play - Geralt was way too much defined as a character for me to have fun roleplaying it. I *really* hope that Hawke will be way, way, way less pre-defined than that!

The ring on the bottom of the enemy. It empties as you do damage.
