Has anyone else run into trouble with the new patch and Zevring? I'm not sure if it's the patch, or me being an idiot...

No, not with ZevRing, but with Gatekisses. I was at the gates of Denerim and... no kiss! I had to deinstall and reinstall ZDF and Gatekisses. Now it works again. (I'm so avid for this gatekiss. )

He doesn't actively ask you to help him, but simply plans on dealing with the situation when and if it arises. No, unfortunately not. I'm German, sorry. French is my third foreign language and I like it very much. Actually I like every other language more than my own. But only in my mother tongue I can speak and write correctly. It's a dilemma.

uh oh. well i just got set up here at the new house, kinda, still somewhat living out of boxes. but lemme download the new patch this afternoon and see if i can figure out what's up. Dx

I guess he needs someone like the Warden, by which I mean, someone willing to give him (comparatively) safe harbor so he has time to think about those sorts of things, but not as a lover or someone there to "fix" him--it's more someone to provide the opportunity.  Does that make sense?

All that said, I think sparing him does have a profound effect, and any "fixing" on the Warden's part happens there, unintentionally, if you give Zevran the mercy and the second chance he wouldn't give Rinna.

Hmm, I think one thing that can override Zev's ambush is -- another scripted encounter.  Were you dragged into an encounter by someone after your second ally?  Like... I think one time I ran into that shady book dealer whose quest you may pick up in the Tower, and that somehow prevented me from getting Zevran's encounter.    I can't remember  what became of that, though -- whether I got Zev later, or whether I had to back up to some previous save and do something dumb. :/  I'm thinking it's the former, but I'm really not sure.

MKDAWUSS you wouldn't by any chance have installed the zevranASAP mod after you got to Lothering would you? or any other mod that affects that encounter?

Glad you are safe and soundi n the new place.  The new patch seems to be making my game far more glitchy than it ever was before, so I may just roll back.  I never had problems with it crashing to desktop or crazy long load screens, or long lag for bodies to become lootable until now.  And I really despise that they took away the little floaty that told you how much experience you got from picking locks/traps/etc.  All the bugs and they choose to "fix" something that wasn't even a bug.

Nope, no mods of that sort. In fact in my playthrough before this, he showed up as expected, and I didn't add/remove any mods in between those two.

Got it working by playing around with the ol' debug script. Had to warp myself there. Fixed it for now yay.

Glad your issue is sort-of resolved. I'd try to make it happen again, though--if it's actually a bug instead of some one off glitch, maybe it can be fixed?

It's not even done yet. Not even 50%!  I got a lot more work to do, let's just say. there's a lot of space to fill.

When this is finished I might be brave enough to open up commissions, and hope to god people understand why they take FREAKING FOREVER.
