What's the (Romantic) Appeal of Zevran?
I did not answer the question yet. I could not read the whole thread (I’ve already read too much of it, that’s crazy enough.
) Somebody wrote (was it Ejoslin?) that everybody seems to have his or her “own Zevran” or at least own Zevran-story. So – here is mine…
For me Zevran was “love at first sight”. I saw this short video after leaving the circle… The way he said his sentence, his moves – smooth like a cat, his whole appearance… I just thought:
When will I meet him? Where will I meet him?But I already had a romance with Alistair in this first play through. I was flirting with Zevran, enjoying his compliments (did not “bed” him), but when it came to the “jealousy-talk”, I decided for Alistair. Zevran made it easy for me, because his
it was fun, but Alistair thinks in a different way was exactly what I thought – my impressions were that Alistairs feelings for my Warden were strong and honest, whereas for Zevran it was only a kind of capture-game.
In my second play through I wanted to romance Zevran, and I did until the “massage”. I found the massage itself – or the talk before –funny and sensual. But I was hurt and disappointed by the talk thereafter. I felt dirty and exploited and finished the romance (and the play through…). Then I started a human noble to become queen. I didn’t romance Zevran, but after Taliesen I chose “more than friends”. And then… I was deeply touched by everything what happened… the sudden warmth in his voice, the earring, his difficulties to speak about feelings. This was a completely unexpected change. But afterwards the bedding-scene was the same as before and I only thought –
that can’t be right, that must be a bug! 
And so… I found the way to the forums, I was looking for mods which would correct the bugs, I found Dialogue Tweaks, Ejoslins Zevran Dialog Fix, Charsens ZevranASAP, Gatekisses… and all these mods I could only use with the English version. So I worked out how to play the game in English (that was not as easy as it sounds <_<). And finally I could romance Zevran the way I like it. And I can’t get enough of it. And I can’t say it often enough – THANK YOU FOR ALL THESE WONDERFUL MODS!
Summary – What's the (Romantic) Appeal of Zevran – for me?It’s his charm, his wit, the moves, the appearance and the surprising depth of his “love story”. It is not the accent, because Zevran does not have an accent in the German version. As I played the English version for the first time I was initially irritated by his accent, meanwhile I like it, but I was interested in Zevran long before I knew his accent.
