What's the (Romantic) Appeal of Zevran?

My Zevran is always a rogue/assassin/duelist. He rips through the enemies like they were made of spun sugar. As for Leliana, my PC had to turn her down for the 2nd time in this play-through. Even with the DT fix she always thinks my PC loves her. She doesn't. She is rude to Leliana at times, although she tries to be civil. Maybe it's time to defile the ashes. I'm serious, my Leliana seems to be totally glitched. Maybe I should try a re-install. This is totally unreal.

Baren #2 is going ranger its the one spec I funnily enough havnt tried despite the fact in NWN2 I played as a ranger all the time (then again it helped that the ranger in NWN2 could get a pet dinosaur which is just awesome)
Zev tends to always end up as a assassin/Bard when ever i use him since the first bard song is just great and Leliena can go jump off a cliff
You want your cunning rogue to be your bard -- the str/dex one to be the ranger. Since they have all those extra talent points, you can get the really deadly pets, and always have one up.

My rogues all become rangers (all two of them), I like the extra body in the battles. NWN2 rogues could get a pet dinosaur? What? Where? Was it in SoZ? If so, that makes sense, because I didn't really play that exp more than once.
yes Storm of Zehir lets you get a pet dinosaur for your rangers/Druids
heres my Ranger running through Shadow Mulsantir in MoTB with his pet raptor (the things a better pet than the Druids dragon and its 100X easier to get than said dragon pet and you get it ALOT sooner as well)

Absolutely. My cunning-based HNF rogue plus Zevran was a deadly combination. She was bard and duelist, though I didn't bother adding any duelist points- just didn't need them. I had Zevran as assassin-ranger.ejoslin wrote...
Two DW rogues work -- have one be a str/dex and use a long sword/crow dagger, the other cunning. The advantage to the str/dex rogue is you don't have to train them in either deft hands OR the lethality tree, which frees up a lot of talent points for making them very good at DW. You can have one be a bard, the other a ranger as well -- they complement each other nicely.
I do like the ranger specialization. I find that the pets are really tough even if you only get the first two. (It's helpful to have two in case you lose one in an area transition.) I'm also taking your tip, ejoslin, by casting Blood Sacrifice on the pet with my blood mage. Works great- they have good HP.

That's awesome! You mean SoZ is backward transferable? I mean, if you have SoZ, your MotB ranger can get a pet dino? Cool. MotB ftw. That was a great exp., better than the OC imo.
*eyes video game shelf* Now where is NWN2 and its expansions?
I've only played STR/DEX rogues, so I really have to try the CUN rogue at least once. I even respec Zevran as a STR/DEX rogue, although I keep his cunning in the higher ranges for lock-picking. That goes to show you how little I know about CUN rogues. What spec goes with cunning?

yes all the classes/races and abilities you get in MoTB and SoZ are backwards compatible, one of my favorite playthroughs in MoTB was a Grey Orc PALADIN/Doom Guide who was called Garshul Humiesmasher, it was great complete opposite of the brutish warlike Orc stereotype
also with SoZ you can finally craft elemental enchantments onto bows so they dont suck any more

What's nice about Cunning rogue is you only need 1 or 2 levels of deft hands, but you do need lethality as well so it evens out (the rest of that tree is useless imo). If you can get your cunning to 60, you only need the first level of deft hands. 50 you need 2 levels of it. Bard songs are based on cunning, so they go well with a cunning rogue. Use dual daggers -- they're far faster than a long sword/dagger combination. Also, you don't need all four levels of coercion to still have it maxed. A cunning rogue will do more damage than a str/dex rogue because the attacks are so much faster. I found dex at 34 is sufficient for a cunning rogue.
Cunning, aside from giving the same attack modifier as strength when you have lethality also gives you armor penetration, so you do more damage.
The advantage to having a str/dex rogue, of course, is they can wear medium armor, can off tank far better, and you can give them starfang or some other massive damage long sword that requires higher strength.

Assassin/Duellist works well, make sure assassin tree is full and you have the rogue talents for imp backstabs/combat movement and all that shenanigans. Get two decent daggers and stab awayyyyy. (That's what my Brosca did, anyway.)

new Baren is a complete bastard to any one but his sister so no he wont be torn up
I can foresee Alistair getting to -100 very very quickly
Zevran I can see him getting along with though, Sten and Shale as well... possibly Oghren but Oghrens not exactly a bad person and Iv gotten major approval drops from him before for being a bastard (I lost 20 approval with him for punching isolde in the face and killing conner)

You could make your Orlais dwarf a ranger since she'd be from the surface. It would give her a different flavor and could potentially make sense why she'd be different from the noble/commoner who have been underground. Just something to chew on. Planning on playing my noble first and seeing what the game is like before I decide on the class for Orlais. I am soo excited about the Orlais dwarf. Since dwarf surfacers are called sun-touched, this dwarf will be blonde. (Either that or have a very nice tan, heh.)soignee wrote...
Even though my Aeducan was a ranger-rogue, I couldn't take it seriously- she's a dwarf, for goodness sake. I couldn't make Zev or Leliana a ranger-rogue either, as I didn't think RP wise they could be. So I stick with my dwarves and NPCs being all stabbity stabbity.
I'll make my Dalish elf a ranger, makes sense they can summon beasts of the forest. <.<;
My first commoner was a ranger/bard and I agree, it didn't really make that much sense she'd be one. I just knew I wanted dog in my party full-time and I thought ranger + wolf pet would compliment that greatly. She sucked in the duel against Loghain. I kept stealthing to get Loghain off of me and onto my pet, but he just wouldn't budge. It was then I noticed that if I stay stealthed, Loghain stopped attacking. He didn't even acknowledge the bear that was ripping him apart. Finallly Loghain was at 0 health with no help from my ranger and I had to unstealth to trigger the "OK, you win!" cutscene. Hardest and easiest duel ever!

Really? my ranger rogue ripped him to shreads, thanks to the dire wolf overwhelming/charging him straight away, and I stunned him down. I was a ranger/duel weaps hander though; I was a str/dex rogue with the DW tree half full, had dire pets (just used wolf, as it had same abilities as your mabari) and just killed him. I sat there stunned he went down so easily D:

With any rogue but my Dalish warden, I have waited until after completing Nature of the Beast to take one of the ranger talents. Then you can plausibly RP that you learned the skill from Lanaya, perhaps as an additional reward for aiding them.soignee wrote...

This game has made em *love* dwarves. I always hated/ignored them, even though they're kinda a fantasy staple, but the lore is so well written and I love the political and back stabbing shenanigans it offers :3

Somehing I can never have by NIN is perfect.
I mean isn't it feasable that he thinks that she is something he can never have? It goes perfectly with the way of how relieved and happy he is when she (or he) chooses him. Perfect.
Now go and undelete that post. ASAP

I mean really, how can "you make this all go away, I'm down to just one thing, I'm starting to scare myself" not fit perfectly with a torn apart and confused Zevran.
Edited because of invisible ninjas
Oops. I mean the NIN song, of course. Although the 'thieves' song seems appropriate for an assassin couple, from what I could understand. English isn't my first language, so if it's spoken too fast, I miss a lot.
