I tried starting a thread about songs that remind people of Zev on a different board here, but no one bit. Maybe I should try again here. People are more talkative about the characters here.

I made Zevran a Bard because I just loved to imagine what kinds of lyrics he's come up with for the song of Valor. XD

Leliana.... uuuuuuuugh. I did her personal quest and talked to her afterwords and even hardening her was annoying and shallow. What's this dialogue about her just now realizing she enjoys killing? Ether this is bad writing or she is just beyond stupid. She's so inconsistent. -_- I wish I could remind her that she told me before that her bard work was fun, and to stop acting like a freekn' child about it. So yeah... I avoid using her as well. Though the idea of a three rogue, one mage team intrigues me. That's how Margoline got taken down. Lel wasn't much help, though. I'm apparently no good at building archers. Also learned the hard way that pick pocketing in Denarim is not worth it. LOL

I've learned a lot from this bit of the thread as well. I haven't been paying enough attention to the way specializations and skills and everything affect eachother. I've been very amaturish and impulsive. >_> But there's still time before Landsmeet to adjust them a bit as the level more.....And if all else fails, poison poison poison.

I dunno, I like games with story, or a strong human element. I play MMOs because it's a fun thing to do with family and friends miles away from you, but single player games have to feel like a movie to me; things like Tomb Raider, the Thief games, Mass Effect, etc...

On the other hand, stuff like The Sims and such bores me to tears, which is apparently all about the your own private movie. Shoot em ups are OK if I am playing against people I like, as my competitive streak kicks in and I want to win :D same with beat em up stuff like street fighter (remember, just mash buttons and undersweep. It's for winners.)

Is it bad that I wish Zevran were real? He's just too cute, and I seriously just want to give him a hug. (I'm not that obsessed, I swear...)

And does anyone else have this weird idea that he smells like Old Spice? No? Just me?...

LOL  You are probably imagining the smell of Antivan leather.  I picture sandalwood in there somewhere...

Heh, my husband has no one to blame but himself for my DA:O obsessions.  He tried for a while to get me into his video games and finally succeeded with Fallout 3 and then Oblivion and DA:O.  I've played text RPG for a while but had always sniffed at the toon games.  Now I think he regrets it, especially since I monopolize his PC and he's forced to resort to my Macbook.  Posted Image

You've read my mind, but I always imagine a hint of fresh clean cotton too.  But then again I love the smell of cotton >.>

When I write about Zevran, I only listen to one thing - Track #19 - The Alienage. It's sort of an odd choice for Zevran since he doesn't tend to identify very strongly with other elves, especially those in the Alienage, but it's got a very pensive and tentative feeling to it. In general, while he says the quote, "Already it has been many new things" the music fits how my PC and Zevran progress through their relationship - a lot of caution on either side because of the emotional risks involved.

It's been said before, but I'll say it again -- I love this thread!

Great videos. Alistair angry is "tingly". Esp. when you get that by a total surprise. I'm like "take me now" but he doesn't :( Alistair in love makes me feel like I'm dating a 14 year old... but I still do it for a bit while flirting with Zevran.

I started this current play through intending to do Ranger/archery but she seemed so gimped i went back to DW. Guess when I do my dalish I'll go str/dex and do archery ranger AGAIN. Does it matter whether cross-bows or bows ? (I ask because it DOES for that "shoot the arrow" quest in the forest.)

Enough typing. I'm at home and can get on the game :)

I imagine others will chime in (probably with better technical advice XD), but I tend to prefer longbows for the combination of speed (crossbows are slooow), distance (shooting things dead from outside of aggro range = awesome), and power. (As an aside, elemental arrow loot seems a lot more common than bolt loot... XD)

Oooh, songs! Now that I'm home... Undisclosed Desires by Muse seems to work pretty well, in my head? :3

go with long bows for archers

crossbows are for Str based warriors who need some back up shooting but dont have enough dex for good long bows

Longbows all the way. Crossbows are so slow. Best bow in the game, aside from leliana's, is called Farsong.

*spoiler*

The way to get Farsong is to either kill the old man smith in Redcliff or just not rescue his daughter (he will hang himself). The replacement blacksmith sells Farsong at the same time that Felon's Coat become available in Denermin (third treaty quest I think).

he killed him self during the jarvia fight twice because of those bloody traps >_<

That is cunning and trap laying related. If he's a cunning rogue, you don't need to put points into traps, but if he's str/dex, it helps to give him a few levels in traps.

The ones in Jarvia's hideout are very difficult to see for some reason.

The Jarvia ones are tricky. At least, there is one in there that even my cunning rogue could not disarm. There's another one in the Deep Roads that is not disarm-able as far as I can tell.

So, have any of your characters decided to spare Loghain because- in a perverse way- he's the one that brought Zevran to you? I had the crazy idea that my current one might. There would be the practical reason of wanting another Warden, but that thought might play into it.

I think Davend, my human noble, will end up spairing Loghain and sacraficing him.  He's very very shrewd.  So I don't think it will be a romantic notion about Loghain bringing Zevran to him, though the fact will not be lost on him.  I imagine him enjoying this fact in a perverse way.  I think it's going to be interesting, I think he'll see his own ruthlesness reflected in Loghain.

I think Zevran is going to be Davend's salvation, though.  It will be so fun to play that way since most people see Zevran as the one needing salvation.

Mmmm... I'm looking forward to hardened, angry Alistair.  Such a shame the only time he acts like a real man is when he hates the PC.  lol  I saw some videoclips on youtube, myself... oh man... I think Davend is going to end up wanting him, and not being able to have him.  LOL  This is going to be one very messed up playthrough.

Hah, I sure have. In fact, that has always been one of the reasons for sparing him when I do so -- a life for a life so to speak..  He gave my warden her chance at happiness, inadvertently, so he deserved a chance at redemption.  And that is so sappy sounding, but it's fun.

Ooooh, there IS a Zevran/FemDwarf kiss where Zevran gets down on one knee to kiss her! You get it when he offers the massage, and you go down the conversation tree that ends up with him saying, "If you're not of a mind, no tragedy." If the warden answers, "Oh, I'm definitely of a mind," he kneels down, holds her face and kisses her. *grin* Yet another reason to play a FemDwarf. I bet he kneels for a male dwarf as well, though.

Edit: Here are thumbnails.  Clicky if you want to see them larger.

I know leliena kneels down to make out with a male dwarf but I have no clue if Zev does that for male dwarves

Ill need to check if Galen Aeducen has a presexy time with Zevran scene otherwise im gonna have to wait till Baren #2 is at camp (and hack zev into the party)

I was just taken by complete surprise. It's got to be the nicest Zevran kiss I've seen. Well, I'm not sure which kiss is nicer, that one or the regular Zevran/Dwarf kiss. I swear, he just loves dwarves.

It is totally worth playing a dwarf and waiting for the invitation, just for that kiss.
