QUESTION for the people who have done the male Zevran romance. I just want to confirm that you can tell Zevran off the bat that the Warden is straight. I swear I remember that option, but it's been quite awhile since I've played a male.

Yeah, really. I'm getting a bit annoyed about that as well, Ejoslin. The females seem to be able to turn the romance off right in the beginning without any approval dings. Is there something missing?

Well, I can answer for my male PC.  Aedan asked what he fancied because he was curious, and ended the conversation with "no I'm not offended but don't bother."  I assumed that turned off the romance, however in the "what are you going to do with me after the Blight" conversation, Zevran says "what if we became fond of each other."  Which for a hetero male certainly sounds like a come-on.  So, I could see why the straight male who is sensitive to such things would be put off.  My Aedan just responded "I could always use a friend" (sees Zevran as a valuable ally by now), so I am guessing that will be that.

Thinking back, my PC meant "no but don't bother" as a statement that he was heterosexual, but Zevran instead interpreted it that he meant "don't bother trying to assassinate me that way because I don't trust you."  So it's possible that line triggered the romance without my PC intending it to.

I had enough money for the 150 gold rose thorn dagger for Zevran and ended up buying the belt from the circle of Magi and the spellward amulet from Bhodan instead

Thanks Addai67. Turning OFF the romance is the weakest part of my FAQ because, well, I don't turn off the romance. I took out the line about being able to tell males that he's straight. But I think I have most, hopefully all, of the romance starter lines mentioned now. As long as those are avoided, the romance shouldn't turn on.

Saying "but don't bother" might be taken a lot of ways. Gah! I wish the men here would do an input. I do happen to think that a clear and simple "no" would end any kind of romantic option. It does for the female PCs.

I hate having so few men here. Bleh.

yes its possible to turn the romance off straight off the bat

Even if I'm not romancing him I always take the 'no, but don't bother.' Because like IRL I don't mind if a cute and hot guy calls me beautiful (not that that ever happened, but just saying).

Any luck with that Zevran-human kiss? o.o

Is it safe for me to put in the faq that a male warden can tell Zevran he's straight?  I don't need exact wording.  I just don't want to be giving bad information.

It is lonely! But the character concept came, as I think I mentioned, from a story I wrote, and you have no idea just how messed up *that* Malyan was... The fact this girl ended as sane as she is is already lucky, but nope, no romances are coming her way. None. I'm still pissed about Anders for this very reason. <_<

As for approval, I'm holding out hope... I'll get a bit by being swayed on the werewolves, I'll free Soris, kill Vaughn (if only because he's pathetic) and Howe, and actually be nice for once in the post-Taliesan conversation!
With gifts, I've given most of his but I still have the gloves, and at least I can give him all of Dog's and Wynne's gifts, a couple of Sten's and Alistair's, and all the generic ones... That's like 20 points! (Yes I know I'm a terrible person, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right?)

Seriously! Arg, I adore guys with dark hair in real life. And it's not just the elves, either. The only attractive dark-haired guys are Duncan and Daveth, so everything after Ostagar is just a big buzz kill.

A little toooo similar, perhaps! I think she's going to go Blood Magic and Spirit Healer- she's full of contradictions. I don't have a great backstory for her yet, but the whole Alienage thing doesn't really fit her... I feel like she was born in a traveling caravan or something similar, but was taken to the circle at a very young age. *starts planning out ideas* Yours is very nice, though, and I like the connection with your HN!

When Zevran asks for a rection after he said he fancies the Warden, the Warden can answer 'But I'm a man'. After that Zevran asks if he should apologize, and the Warden can answer 'I should say so'.

Terrible. Now I have to replay the segment to hear him when the Warden says that he likes being fancied

Ooooh, ok. I have that covered in my faq, that is you pick a romance starting line, Zevran will confirm that's what it is and you can turn him down.

This is how I have it worded. After a long list of starter lines, I wrote:

If you choose any of these lines, he will confirm what you mean in a very obvious way, and at that point you can stop the romance from starting, though it may cost you a little approval. If you tell him it's ok, the romance begins. However, if you allow the romance to turn on, you will get a bigger approval ding when you break up, like with any other romance character.

Hmmm, is this clear enough?

looking at the new Rogue specialization in the Awakening forums is it me or do the Shadow classes Skills seem to go really well with Zevran?

Yeah, I thought that too! I haven't understood yet if Awakening spec will then be usable even in Origins, but, if they are, I've no doubt I'll respec Zev to be a Shadow

if they arnt for whatever reason it shouldent take more than a week for a mod toa dd the classes and stuff into origins

but Zev is perfect for Shadow+Assassin combo

duelist...well he isnt exactly a great face to face fighter and admits her prefers poisons and Alistair during a banter calls him out on his fighting skills

Seems like I'm not the only one who thinks Zevran will make a perfect Shadow.
I don't know if he likes animals, I do know he doesn't like the forest (comment during the Dalish quest).
