Ah, CE. I haven't played that origin yet (yeah, I know. Shocker). Well to be precise, I played the origin only, but didn't get any further. Man-oh-mighty was I angry after that one. I could just see my CE having a really, really crappy time, so stopped. I'll try again later on. It was a long time ago, so I don't remember the specifics. Does she like getting married, or is it more of press-gang wedding?

As for your FAQ, isn't it amazing how many people have little to no idea how to do the Zevran romance, your FAQ is great. I guess the way it's growing, a table of contents would make sense.

I haven't played the CEF, but I would guess the premise is about the same as the CEM -- it wasn't your idea to get married, and how much you look forward to it is up to you. ;D

You can choose if you want your Warden to be happy with the wedding or not. Espcially in the conversations with Soris you can decide if you like it or not ('We can run away.' par example)

I started 2 CE origins and I ended them when I reached Ostagar, I wasn't sure how she should behave in the presence of humans. So I wanted to figure that out before playing her the entire game.



I just love the dialogue tweaks mod. I kissed Zevran and Sten gave me a: (snorts) 'Disgusting.' That look was just priceless. xD



@ejoslin, I haven't had Zevran post-landsmeet while in love, but from everything I read here it sounds like the romance is best at that point of the game.

Ejoslin why are you surprised? Dude forgot that my HN's whole family, including her (one-night-stand) lover were massacred, and Fergus is MIA. I do like him a lot, but there are some instances where my PC became really angry with him.

If I add one more point, I will most likely move the FAQ off site to some place where I can have anchors and such, and have a link from my blog.  The problem with a table of contents in a text document is of course, no jumps.  I did put at the top where to find the earring answers, and added a point that clearly says you need to invite Zevran to the tent.  I can't believe I left that part out, actually!

With this city elf, she knew her dad would do her right, and Neloros was very sweet to her.  She had just met him so obviously didn't love him, but she could have.  And the way he died marked her in a big way.  Even though he didn't know her, he died for her.  And she was never able to properly sort that out.

As an aside, this character sided with the Templars, but in the way that keeps Wynne with you.  Wynne actually has not asked my elf what lead her to the grey wardens.  I'm debating doing her personal quest -- I probably won't, just because I'm curious if she becomes first enchanter this way.  I just need to finish Orzammar and then I'll finish up pretty quickly!  I love Orzammar, actually, but I'm having trouble pushing through it for some reason.

SO when Zevran learns of the wedding, she'll talk to him later about it.

Edit: And you're probably better off asking Alistair questions in here.  I'm constantly surprised at how much misinformation Alistair fans have about that romance.

It's only Alistair.  He's freaking out at Flemmeth's hut, and the warden can say something like, "I know how you feel.  My fiance was just murdered."

I found a way to de-ninja the bard! (at least on the Xbox).  If you give her a gift outside of camp before talking to her the first time, she seems to permanently glitch out of love.  I'm not picking up her personal quest and she hasn't commented on Zev at all yet, but that is a small price to pay to not have to break up with her every time I enter camp.  Three treaties and all but Redcliff finished.  Landsmeet squee tonight.

So I replayed the massage conversation (again). And something really bothered me all of a sudden. Zevran pretty much asks if it is allright if something happens beside the massage, but the only thing we see is the romance scene. No cutscene with a massage at all (I noticed did before obviously, but it suddenly hit me). So he promises a massage and maybe more, but the way it is shown I only get the 'maybe more' and not the thing he was supposed to give me. Very sneaky.



@jenovan, The way Sten looks is great, with that 'happy face' of his.

Yeh, good afternoon for me, Jenovan. It's 3 p.m. here. We're getting ready to crack open the evening meal wine,and you all are drinking coffee. I don't know, I find that funny for some reasons. You Americans have pushed me into strange habits too. Now I automatically count 6 to 9 hours backward, to see what time it is over there. (6hr for East Coast, 9 hrs for West Coast).

Sami Jo I read about the console thing, for getting Zevran early, but I'd rather hoped for a nice clean mod that doesn't dump you into the ambush site with no way out later on. The felled tree seems to impede forward progress to the exit.

Try Wynne Ramante. Yech. But as usual, Zevran has a great response. I know Morrigan says something nasty, but her facial expression is amusement, so I can't be angry with her.

In regards to the DT cutscene for Morrigan's reaction, I thought it would have been even better if the author had used the response that you get when you talk to Kaitlyn in Redcliffe - the one where she makes a noise like she's coughing up a hairball (and that's all it is - I think the subtitle is 'Bleargh' or something). It was hilarious and I had to reload and play it again a few times. I don't even remember if it's the response you get from choosing to kiss Kaitlyn as a reward, it was that overwhelmingly funny.

The really funny thing about the Zevran response to Wynne's comment is where that actually appears in the game. It's in the poetry "choose between us" conversation, actually.



Hmmm, the massage. I got the impression by the time you finish that conversation that it's not about a massage, but that he was asking for the more. The scene fades out with either them kissing, or even if it's just on his face with him closing his eyes -- I'm surprised they got the armor off (and yes, I know they don't always).

LOL, yes, that's what Morrigan does if you actually kiss Kaitlyn.  My mage was low-level romancing Morri at the time, which made it even funnier.   IIRC, she sticks her tongue out and everything, hilarious. XD

Edit: Thinking it over, I think Morrigan says that when you *ask* to kiss Kaitlyn.  You don't have to kiss her (you can say you were joking).  I think if you actually do kiss her, Morrigan disapproves, but I don't remember well.

Speaking of the CE origin, it's fun to whine the whole time about not wanting to go through with the marriage. You can keep pestering Soris about both running away. Nelaros (your fiance) actually starts getting insulted, and he's cute enough that I actually felt bad. =P

It's a pretty depressing origin, though- I started with a happy, well-adjusted CE and ended with Miss Suicidal. But I'm sure not everyone is like that. XD



With the marriage comment in the Alienage, is there actually a full conversation with just Zevran? It's only ever been with both him and Ali for me, and it glitched when I removed Ali from the party. I can't remember if that's one of the points where Ali is 'required,' but if not it just doesn't make much sense...

And no, there's no full conversation with Zevran.  There's so much that's implied in this game that you have to just fill in the blanks.

I am playing a CE now, and I did NOT want an arranged marriage.  My PC doesn't find Nelaros cute at all (too wimpy for her tastes) so she chose to whine :-)   My problem is I'd like to wait til after Talisien to sleep with Zevran to get that conversation, but...My CE is a wanton wench and finds zevran incredibly appealing.  She would have bedded him that first night she took him into her party if she could have.

Gah, guess I will have to make *another* elf to play coy with Zev *sighs*

I do remember getting depressed by the time Soris and my PC saw Nelaros killed. It's no wonder your CE became Ms. Suicidal. I had to stop playing altogether. I'll try again, though, but my dwarf will come first.

After her it'll be the dalish elf. I have no clue whether her relationship with Tamlen was more than friends, and I don't know how she would act toward the GWs. I stopped playing because I felt that Tamlen was so very easily discarded.

Oh well. Amazon 2 is in Orzammar now. I wonder what else she will come up with that will make me laugh, or choke, or yell at the monitor.

I really am a well-adjusted, happily married thirtysomething woman, with a job and everything.

To put that fact in even more doubt:  I woke up this morning fuming about Wynne's ridiculous conversation with my character last night.  The story line around my character makes it even more insulting than usual.  My virginal girl has only slept with Zevran, maybe, 3 nights before this.  I think she got over her self-consciousness about 10 minutes in to the first night, of course- it is obvious that Zevran is nothing if not a generous lover- but she still is only just exploring her sexuality for the first time, after a bad history and the "wonderful" nurturance of the Circle.  And even though she doesn't know what's going on with Zevran, she can see his pain.  His refusal was a blow, because she thinks he might end up telling her he needs to move on.  So on the very same night to have that... that woman... try to make it so cheap and tawdry, to tell her that it is beneath her to be involved with him, is insult to lots of injury.

I think she also suspects that it is in part racist, that if she were still with Alistair, Wynne would not be nearly so incensed.  Which is somewhat true, since in the Alistair sermon, Wynne more talks about them getting hurt rather than it being "inappropriate."  Oh boy, if she ever gets to the point where she hears about Aneirin, my elven lass is not going to take it well.  This is all proof to her that it was a mistake to have a Circle mouthpiece in her camp.

Oh, and ejoslin, about the faq- don't stress over it!  The fact that there is a cheat sheet somewhere at all is a good thing.

Heehee, oh my girl whined at every opportunity. And while she really didn't want to get married, at the same time she was coming to terms with the fact that she couldn't keep her freedom going forever. She was just never meant for the Alienage, honestly, although being a GW wasn't that thrilling, either. She also lost a lot of respect for the Dalish, and came to resent the fact she's an elf despite not feeling like one... The suicidalness came from feeling like she had no home or future, and for (stupidly) blaming herself for other people getting hurt. So you can imagine how utterly broken she felt when Alistair threw himself at the AD, and why it made me so ridiculously happy that Zevran was still there for her...

But I, too, have to make an entirely new character just to get the post-Taliesan sex. XD Ah well, my virginal mage should suffice, though she may well give in to his 'massage.'

And I'll definitely take a look, ejoslin, once I get home today. =)
