Morning from the Mountain West here, and Dang, the Wyoming State Govnm't just adopted 10 pricipals of the Code of the West as a State motto (please, kill me now....)

My first CEF playthrough (and my favorite character by far, oh WHY did she get deleted!!!)
I played not wanting to get married, wanting to just to keep having fun, and pestering Soris to run away. And I was snarky to Nelaros.....and yes, it was funn ruffling his feathers. Nelaros was a blacksmith. My CE girl was a little "Hmm, maybe I should rethink this" when she saw him, but her dilike of getting married overran her  hormones. And didn't give two figs that he died, (okay she felt a 'little' bad, but she was more angry than sad, she barely knoew the guy!). She was snarky to Duncan, to Cailan, to Alistair, pretty much to every human she ran across and she (me) would laugh manically when ever she cut off a human's head in battle, she knife-murdered Genitivi...wishes she could have run Isolde through with a big sword, but was happy having her sacrifice herself....pretty much killed every human she could. , She was so mean! But in a nice way
Used and abused Alistair, didn't realize it was love and then, made him king and he left and ran off with my Warden and Zevran to rebuild the GW's. She thought the irony of being the Hero of Feredlen to a bunch of humans was funny.

That's pretty much the tact I took with my last CEF character. And if you're nice to him, Nelaros has some *squee* moments.

D'awww... I might have to just play a CEF to see the origin. The CEM never seemed quite that soft and squishy to me. XD; (of course, it helps that your bride-to-be doesn't get killed..)

Woot over 200 pages!



I played my CE (both) as hating the marriage idea. one hated the idea of marriage at all--she wanted to be "her own woman" and welcomed the idea of the GW's as an escape. The other CE wanted love not an arranged marriage, was impressed that Nelarious came after her, and only reluctantly joined the GW after being nasty to Duncan for being human. She fell for Alistair hard because he was the first human who was really really nice to her and she felt like she didn't have a home anymore. Now that we're done with all 4 treaties, she finally asked him about "the future" and he did say "we'll be together no matter what" or however that line goes, so when he dumps here she's going to be TOTALLY devastated and Zevran will be there to pick up the pieces. But I still need to kill Flemeth and Do RTO and some quest mopup. so I might not get to landsmeet till tomorrow night.



I will save the "horrid" photos for when I'm not at work--tho I uninstalled BSC after seeing too many of those myself. I do love that bearded male PC (but then I've always liked beards.)

I kept the wedding ring as well. I know you don't use mods, but there is one to make the origin items a bit better (you can scale how good they are to your liking), so they're not just discardable within 10 minutes. It was really touching to keep it on. I feel like it's something she never told Alistair or Zevran about, but was her only real connection to the past and to the events that brought her to the GWs.

@CZ, that tattoo your warden has, is it a mod? I need to figure out how to work these things. I think I'll try some mods on my laptop (game and boards are still working), so if I kill my laptop, it doesn't really matter.

I haven't played a CEM, but I think even the character art shows that this origin was meant to be played by a female PC.  It is... "powerful" is such a cliche' word, but I'll just say that it stays with me.

I was thinking about my Tabris the other day when I played Fort Drakon with my elf mage.  While all my PCs are naturally happy to be rescued, she was dying a thousand deaths inside that cell, knowing in her gut that Zevran was not going to leave her there, and fearing it was going to be Nelaros all over again.  That was the first time I heard his line when he opens the cell door, "my dear Warden... did you miss me?"  I think it's why it will always be one of my favorite lines in the game.

And then your future wife to be.....*sigh*

Man was she snarky to me for stating the obvious, that I was there to rescue everyone, not just her. Man was my PC relieved to get out of that marriage. She would truely have been a jealous shrew given a couple of years.

Good evening my fellow Europeans, good afternoon/morning/night to everyone else

I was waiting impatiently to get home today so I could see all those BSC pics. LOL... I'm glad I didn't install it after all. I'm not a fan of vanilla tent scenes, but I better leave them alone.



My CE was certainly NOT happy about her marriage, but seeing Nelaros die for her was a blow. She couldn't bring herself to take her wedding ring off and replace it with some magical stuff, even though she was generally a very practical person. I romanced Leliana (intentionally!) on that playthrough and I found the romance very sweet. I was planning to see it through to the end, but it concluded too early and I got bored. Eventually my CE ended up with Alistair, who died during the fight with the Archdemon. Ugh, I'll never choose that ending again. The indifference of everyone during the party is just so sad. My elf didn't know what to do with herself and triend to tag along with Shale, then Leliana and Sten, but everyone was like "don't you have some Grey Warden business to attend to?". Fortunately, there was still Zevran. They went to rebuild Grey Wardens together and I like to think she'll eventually develope deeper feelings for him.

Maybe I'm weird, but I really like the fade. I'm always excited to go there. Especially when I'm playing a warrior, which I usually find rather boring, so it's always nice to get those extra shapes and abilities for a while.

Yeah, it seems the CEF version is much more visceral.  What my CEM hung on to most was the fact that Shianni was hurt (I mean, the poor girl that died.. I think her name is mentioned once by someone else.  Poor anonymous bridesmaid...).

Awwwww!  I never thought about Ft. Drakon that way (well, I guess my character was never in that position ;D).  That's a really great spin on it.   (My elf was just tickled that his faith in Zevran was well-founded, and his "Did you miss me?" is still one of the best-delivered lines in the game. siiiigh  )

LOL! I can't even remember what my CEM told her... she seemed nice enough, but... yeah.  Not like he had a choice about leaving her behind, but he was glad she wasn't too attached.

I was okay with it on my rogue (had to do it 3 times across 2 different platforms ;D), but I LOVED it with my mage.   Story-wise, he's supposed to be awesome in the Fade anyway, and blowing through it with a good complement of Primal spells is super fun.

Ah yes, my mages were great there. I could fully appreciate how powerful they were. I din't even have to change forms all that much to kick asses

All right, it's time to give my DNF some love. Yesterday I finished playing right after getting Zev, so 'the best is yet to come'. However, she's not going to romance him until she gets to Denerim and have a chat with Gorim. This will take some time, as I also want to combine it with doing Alistair's personal quest and he doesn't like me very much at the moment I want to harden Alistair for the first time ever, but I really hate the line that you're required to say in order to do so. I imagine that it will be in character only when my dwarf feels bitter after meeting Gorim again. I'll have to figure out something to make Alistair happy enough to tell me about his sister soon, or I'll surely give in to Zev's charm and so much for roleplaying <_<

4 pages? That's nothing, when Sabriana and I came here this morning (your night?) there were like 10 pages with a lot of disturbing pictures and Wynne disapprovals.

Skip the fade mod? Thanks God, that's without a doubt the most terrible part of the entire game. The Fade creeps me out and it gives me a headache. Though it is pretty bad on the other side, I have never seen Zevran in the Fade. x.x
Nyaa, I can't read. I had to smile that ejoslin missed the nightmare part, now I'm doing the same. *getting coffee*

Still working on that stupid report I was at the office until 11:30 pm last night working on and no DA for me tonight either. Dinner and a concert to go hear some Irish music (Colcannon is the name of the group I think, no clue who they are!) SO no DA until Friday night, maybe...hubby said we HAVE To get taxes done before I can play more....*sigh*



I like to think that while Selva is sitting in Limbo, at least Zevran is with her (couple of bottles of wine, some cheese and bread and warm furs...okay, I can leave her there for a couple of nights knowing she's well entertained), Alistair still doesn't like her, Leliana ignores her, Sten actually likes her, and Morrigan is warming up to her. And Wynne is still gone, I wonder if the Darkspawn got her yet?
