oooh skip the fade... Altthough it was a lot of fun once or twice I miss having my companions with me, cause they are the best part of the game. Must download that--esp now that I've done the Fade on warrior rogue and mage a couple of times each.

Someone (sorry I can't remember who) talked about Hespith. Yes, I find her "the first day...etc" extremely disturbing---a very effective part of the game in my opinion. Great voice acting there. If she hadn't been there I'd be tempted to side with Branka. but I can't EVER side with her after hearing Hespith. I just can't.

For the first time I sided with Baelen and I'm not sure that's a good idea despite Zevran--although I was getting sick of the proving and wanted a change this time round. I feel morally bankrupt by that decision. I'm suprised Alistair didn't disapprove. (although, maybe he prefers Baelen as a king's son rather than a non-royal, as Anora would be.

I downloaded the elf ears and made a new Dalish chick. Wish I coudl get different Tattoo options and so now I see there is a tattoo mod. Off to download that tonight and remake the elf again --- better ears AND better tatoos. WOOT.

oh, forgive the Naif question but WHERE do you get Chasind Armor ? I think I got it once but haven't seen it since

Awwwww!  I never thought about Ft. Drakon that way (well, I guess my character was never in that position ;D).  That's a really great spin on it. Image IPB  (My elf was just tickled that his faith in Zevran was well-founded, and his "Did you miss me?" is still one of the best-delivered lines in the game. siiiigh Image IPB )

It certainly is!  But yeah, my Tabris character, seeing Zevran at her cell door... that was the kiss of all kisses in that particular playthrough.  Naturally, due to the game's weirdness about such things, the kiss had to be all in my head rather than in gameplay.  So unfair!!

Of course, she should have known that Nelaros was not Zevran and vice versa and not been as worried about him.  Even if it was a highly fortified compound, and they didn't have elven servants helping them.  I also imagine that she would have tried to escape herself, but that was her player's intervention at work, since I wanted a Zevran ex machina rather than a daring escape attempt.  Besides which I really don't think Loghain would put such terribly inept guards watching the Wardens!

Apparently you can buy them in the Dalish camp, but you can also get them in the Korcari Wilds during Ostagar by following the Signs of the Chasind quest. :)

I'm pretty sure there are mods to fix that, but I really don't like that part of the game.

I'm still in Orzammar with my mage (it's been a week since I got there), I've had enough of it actually. I don't want to fight Jarvia again, this part is so boring. Got Zev with me, maybe he will make it more fun..

@CZ, very nice, very nice indeed. ^^

Aww... I definitely threw a kiss in there (thank you, Dialog Tweaks!!), it so needed to be there, yes!

*trying not to snicker at work*  I know when you escape alone, you have to go to that trunk to get your armor back... When I brought Zevran and Oghren in to rescue, I stopped them at that trunk and tried to open it and got nothing.  And then the PC and Alistair magically got their armor back as soon as they stepped out of the cell.  I suppose the rescuers brought the stuff with them...   So I just imagined Zevran teasingly not giving the stuff back right away. ;D  That probably would be out of place at the time, though.... pity. ;)

oh cool. Yeah I guess I didn't finish the trail signs this time round. It was late and I was anxious to get into the meat of the game. I can go check out the Dalish camp tho.

I haven't installed the toolset, just a bunch of mods. Wonder if I'm up to it.....

I'm just popping in - as soon as I'll have finished ME2 I'll be much, much more present, I promise :D - to say that the Fade is absolutely my favorite part of the game, or at least one of my three favorite parts (Fade, Redcliffe, Denerim). It's visually gorgeous and eerie, brain-teasing (I like that, I'm a fan old graphic adventures) and, from time to time, even disturbingly frightening. And Zevran's nightmare is heart-wrenching!

LOL  I think the devs were having fun with this quest in more ways than one.  Often my Warden ends up in some compromising position with either Alistair or (if Alistair wasn't in the party and she's alone) with the man in the cell next door, while they're still in there in their knickers.  Compromising as in, kneeling in front of him, if you get my drift.  Image IPB  They are probably trying to freak out homophobic males who play male PCs with stuff like that.  Sneaky devs!

My mom caught me while replaying the massage convo (again, I'm terrible I know). Can't say she liked it, she kinda freaked out. Good thing I ended the conversation without the romance scene, that would have been fun though. XD

She wouldn't stop talking about what a terrible game this is and that she wishes I'd never bought it. Apparently I am too young to play this sort of games. I feel young enough as it is, I got a feeling I'm the youngest one around here.

She took my DA cd... Good thing I have the EA download manager installed, otherwise this could get really complicated.

Hehehe, maybe so... XD  I have to admit, the camera angle from Alistair's viewpoint while my CEM was slowly waking up (naked, thanks mods) was a liiiittle creepy. ;D  (Although, story-wise, I think it'd be Alistair who might be a bit upset about being stuck naked in a cell with his apparently bi fellow Warden. XD)

Although before DA I never would have even thought you could buy and download a PC game :) but that's becuase I only ever played on the PS3 before....(and I know you can download stuff there....)

Do you have to have the CD to play if you bought the game in disk?

No, you can download the game with the EA download manager, you only need to fill in the code that's in the cd box... that presents a problem. o.o'
While playing with a cd install, you need the cd to play. (almost didn't answer your question)

@jenovan, I don't think she want to see more.

Hmm, good to know. So it IS like playing on the PS3 where if you bought the game CD you need to have the CD in to play.

That wouldn't be good for me. I loose stuff when travelling and it would just be my luck I would lose my DA cd.....thank goodness for hubby telling me while i was travelling and going through DA withdrawl that "Oh, btw, you can buy and download the game to your PC from EA's website".

EDIT: I'm in my mid 30's, my parents are in town visiting, and they DO find it baffeling....I think talking about the game made my dad decide to leave a day early. Image IPB

I'm glad someone thinks it is funny.
Can't wait till she tells my father, he is a little more open-minded. You'll see they will ask my sister what she thinks about it. That won't end well, she witnessed my Warden fighting the broodmother in my first playthrough. She thought it was disgusting.

So I'm very happy to save my Zevran romance from my crashing laptop, only to be unable to continue the romance on my pc.

And now I feel really young because everyone is... not really old, but older (I'm 20 years old). o.o'

Ramante, I meant no offence, your description of the situation was funny.

BTW, I'm only 3 years older (or probably more like 2, I won't be 23 until October).

A VERY good thing. I love my parents but they still treat me like I'm 12.
I was explaining the game to my dad and he just sat there staring at me with this look on his face of "where did we go wrong???"

Mostly I still feel like I'm about 25..........so to be treated like a 12 year old....*sigh*

Good night to you Charsen. BTW if you're still reading a bit and see this - about cut-scene editing and such, could you snoop around and see if it would be very hard to make a mod about getting Zevran after Lothering? I don't want to bug the mod-crowd by asking for something impossible.

Oh yeah, definitely Sabriana. I have a term paper to work on today & a midterm Monday, but I think I can check it out this weekend. I have an idea on how to make it work.

EccentricSage wrote...
Oooh, I'd love a link.  :D  You make my life so much easier.  *hug*

Mmmm... actualy, I want Sabath to dominate men.  I'd be glad to let Zev have a turn, but I think she feals more comfortable having complete control untill she trusts someone.  They have to earn it.  lolI'm not actualy expecting this to exist, but I'll probably draw it or at least fic it.  :D

Actually I think this is doable. I was poking around with the toolset and I have some ideas. It'll take some time since I'm not familiar with their animation system yet, but code-wise I think I know how to do that in theory. Just gotta get out of midterm week to check it out more.

So to get a bunch of hairstyles and eyes, tattoos, etc in, you have to combine a few mods to work with each other. I highly recommend making overrides of these with DA Modmanager 1.9c... it's so much easier to edit an override instead of mucking around with the override folder.

Make overrides of these but delete each mod's chargenmorphcfg file so we can use Bidelle's combined one:

More Hairstyles *delete chargenmorphcfg.xml
Pineappletree's Virbrant Colors (no eyes) *delete chargenmorphcfg.xml
Chargen Package *delete chargenmorphcfg.xml
CC Extra Tints & Tones *delete chargenmorphcfg.xml

Now add Bidelle's...

Bidelle's Makeup Studio *get the full version and the compatible chargenmorphcfg for all 5 mods (not standalone)

It's a little complicated but it's cool. You can give yourself warden eyes like the Ashes trailer, or awesome scars, tattoos, etc..

Sooo... I did Mage quests untill I got board, and baught/decorated houses.  lol  Only reason I might finish the mage guild storyline is because the Count of Skingrad is involved, and he's the only NPC that intrigues me in the whole game.  I'm a vampire (and what vampirism did to my handsome battlemage's great looks pissed me off!), so I started to get extra dialogue with the Count, and then he started randomly showing up in Rosenthorn Hall just to chit chat.  I wish there was more NPC interaction like that in the game.  I'm guessing there are mods for that now.

Yeah there's basically no teamwork in Oblivion, not like DA at all. It's extremely solo, but very open and designed for mods. You can get mods to have hirelings but, meh. It's not the same. I haven't been in the Oblivion mod community for a while but they had at least a few mods with love interests, but it was kinda blah, mostly fade to black baby making like fable 2 from what i recall. The assassin quests DO need you to be a total monster, but they are hilarious! I rarely play "evil" characters, but man, it was so funny.

What is a PITA?

Pain in the ass :D

Sresla wrote...In regards to the DT cutscene for Morrigan's reaction, I thought it would have been even better if the author had used the response that you get when you talk to Kaitlyn in Redcliffe - the one where she makes a noise like she's coughing up a hairball (and that's all it is - I think the subtitle is 'Bleargh' or something). It was hilarious and I had to reload and play it again a few times. I don't even remember if it's the response you get from choosing to kiss Kaitlyn as a reward, it was that overwhelmingly funny.

I think i missed that one. I'll definitely keep an eye out on my next play through, that sounds freaking hilarious!
