Maybe a bit of the two, but I don't find myself getting major approval loss from him either.  I mean, I don't get huge gains except in a couple of conversations (the ones that focus on him and the warden and his plot gifts of course).  The couple of times my character has gone to the tent with him before hitting adore, he never refuses to tell her about the final mission because the jumps are SO high (that's the main reason I DON'T, to be honest).

I just wonder because sex was always something he was used for or used himself -- I wonder why it's so different with the warden.  It seems like it must mean an awful lot to him in order for not only that huge initial jump, but the subsequent approvals.  Or it could be a game mechanic.

I think it's something of a safety net for him. Being the Warden's lover, even if he thinks it's just casual, allows him to be close without getting close. It also gives the Warden a chance to start breaking down those walls he's been forced to put up around his heart.

That certain point being 100 maxed.  LOL!  He just never stops approving!  But it's also why I think it's got to be more to him than just a casual fling.  Even from the start.  Despite what he says.

Edit: And I find it curious that although he doesn't expect the warden to be faithful to him (and approves when she isn't in some circumstances), he doesn't seem to be interested in being unfaithful to her/him.  Well, there is Isabela and that -3 approval drop but, well, he WAS invited and that is a guy thing!

It's possible that his desire to end his own life after the events with Rinna and their Master combined with the fact that the Warden not only lets him live but trusts him enough to take him along with the group that makes Zevran willing to trust the Warden more easily, because he thinks that at some point he will end up dying and he'd rather die with a clear conscience by telling someone these things.

I do think he enjoys the sex, but IMO it is also the trust it shows.  If you came into a traveling group because you tried to kill them, it would be a big turnaround to find yourself invited to be intimate with the leader.  He says, with that big beaming smile, "we have certainly come far since the day I tried to kill you and you spared my life," and conversely if you ask him if it is part of his plan, he says "haven't we gotten beyond this by now?"

Since I just did the 2nd earring offer (squee ), I was reminded that he says "since you asked me to your tent, I've been so confused..."  That was only recently for my character, though still meaningful since it means they were both falling in love simultaneously.  But it could potentially mean that Zevran had been confused about his feelings for a very long time by then.

Hmm, really want to try to discuss this one, even though my brain is feeling a bit disconnected at the moment! Sorry if this ends up being disjointed. ;D

I can think of a few possible reasons...
I'm in the camp that he's falling for the Warden the whole time, so I imagine he's tickled that the Warden takes the initiative, instead.  It seems that Zevran had to do plenty of seduction in his work, but I get the impression that he was generally the one pushing  the issue, not the target... or, that he manipulated the targets into these situations.  The Warden approaching him would be something he had no hand in (besides flirting, obviously .  And the Warden obviously isn't trying to get on a Crow's good side (or are they? XD).... Maybe the novelty appeals to him.

ooh, and re: Zevran's faithfulness vs. not expecting the same... perhaps that gets back to his lack of self-worth... ?

I always wondered about which tenting he meant by this, too...  although, I suppose if the PC waited for the massage offer, you technically didn't invite him to your tent...  so maaaybe it meant that last time that he refused..

I think it's one of those lines that can be interpreted either way (like so many).



I do think Zevran was falling in love the entire time as well. I think by the time he hit adore, he had stronger feelings than he ever felt for anyone in his life. I think from the first time they met there was an instant connection (especially since you can tell a romanced Alistair this). I guess what is surprising for me is not that you get an approval jump from the initial sex, but that it's so huge. Picking awful answers afterwards still gets you double what Alistair or Leliana gives, placing no demands on him at all gives at least triple. Then the +1 for each additional time.



But then I get to where he declares his feelings (JUST did that mmmmm) and he says how he thought it was a pleasant diversion, so I wonder when that actually changed, or if that's what he thought it would be going into it. And did he really fight falling in love, or did he just not even begin to recognize it for what it was until it was too late? I actually think it may have been that -- these feelings are completely new, and they actually make him very happy. I don't think he gave it too much thought since he does live very much for the moment -- until he was forced to confront his past and, by extension, his future, and found himself wanting to stay.

also got pics of Zev sexy time with Zevran but since BSC wont touch the dwarves no extra lulz from them (though his sex scene does look..odd even if the opening scene is incredibly hot)

edit: also Massive armor sucks for make out sessions because to get a decent pic of Xander and zev making out I have to take it off otherwise the bloody giant shoulder pad covers everything up

I don't like massive armor... Never use it, really. I put Juggernaut on Sten just to put it somewhere other than the Party Chest. Other than that, my party uses light/medium armors. I've got Morrigan in the regular Drakeskin, Zev in the Superior, my PC in Felon Coat with Dalish gloves and boots, and Alistair has the Ancient Elven Armor on.

Jenovan I like your reasoning and I think it's pretty similar to mine. I say it because if you follow the dialogue options that give you the most approval, they tend to end up with you being very assertive about wanting him in your tent. I do think he enjoys the fact that the Warden shows a strong desire to get in the tent with him, especially when it shows that you're not afraid of him being an assassin. I think that's why he teases about it, and once it's shown to not be a problem that makes him very relieved.

I think on the one hand, yeah he enjoys the sex. He says you should enjoy life's pleasures when they come, because they can come infrequently. So his +1s are showing that he's appreciating the pleasures he's given when he's given them.

But at the same time, that introductory dialogue is just so set up to gauge your comfort level with who he is, it's him testing the waters to see how trusting you will be. If you show him that trust, he's *extremely* happy. So it's a combination of both.


And for Zevran tattoos, if this mod ever finally comes out (it's supposed to soon, but grrr I've been waiting so long) it will allow you to give different bodies to each party member (and it can actually make males non-aroused normally but aroused during sex scenes!). So you'll be able to give Zevran some tattoos. =)

you said Alexander looked good in Cailens armor though and thats massive :3

also on my difficulty you cant get away with lower type armor if you want to tank ontop of the fact the best warrior armors are massive type ( wardens commander armor is sexy sexy sexy even without the statboosts)

This is true, but then it just looks right on Alexander.   I play on Casual, because I prefer the story to the fighting, so I can get away with light and medium armors. If I play a Human next instead of a tiny elf chick, I think she can get away with heavier armors. :happy:
