wow I go to work for a few hours and massive amounts to read



I always do the morrigan ending. Maybe I need to switch it up and US but I just can't. This time I'm thinking I'll save Loghain and have him with MOrrigan. I want to see that Scared face.



so last night I did Taliesen and then the Anora rescue. Zev was at warm, so he stayed and fought (I did the "he's with me now line") and it felt like friendship not like love, which was interesting. Then we did the Anora rescue, and I had Zevran and Sten rescue me. That was funny. I then did the Stare talk and ended up with Zevran at adore.

I then took Alistair and dog (only) to the warehouse to pick up Duncan's shield. Alistair of course is moved to get the shield. We're in LOVE and he acts surprised that I would give it to him (geez...) anyway, then I click on him because I want a kiss, and instead he goes into the "Ahem, I see you and Zevran have become close" dialog. I tell him that we're just friends (because in my head we are) and he acts all happy and swears we will be together forever (and I think -- yeah, until you give me the public dumping after the landsmeet)...That will make the breakup just that much more devastating, which will RP well

Anyway, after that dialog I think, ok so NOW, I will get the thankyou kiss for the shield. So we go to kiss, Alistair says, "what , in public ?" and I'm thinking, what public, we're alone with the dog in a warehouse... We kiss and we get the dog "jealous bark!" HEHEHE I was laughing out loud at that. I did actually have a dog like that once....



So tonight's fun will be the whole end game...WOOT. fun for me.

Iona tells you that the Couslands were known for being good to their elven servants, but "good" could well be a relative term.  My current character I am playing as the child of elven servants in Highever Castle and a playmate of Elissa Cousland, so I don't picture her childhood as being too bad up to the point that she was molested.  But life is harsh for elves everywhere, that's just a fact of Thedas life.  For my Aedan character, I did feel badly having him sleep with Iona.  It made him like every other sexually harrassing nobleman in Thedas.  Of course, he did it anyway.

This is actually an issue I have with romancing Zevran.  My HNF character came close to sleeping with him, but besides the fact that she's taller than him and that bothers me a little , it feels a bit like sexual harrassment.  Not that Zev would mind being sexually harrassed!  LOL  Maybe I'm boring, but compatibility seems an issue in how I play these romances- it feels more natural for my elves to be with Zevran and my humans to be with Alistair.

You're not alone. The height thing bothers me too for some reason... and the Al/ HNF kiss is pretty hot, anyway.

Granted the alienage and citizens might have been another story all together for all we know.  I remember how completely and chearfully ignorant King Cailan was when my CEF met him.  I took a sort of twisted pleasure in bluntly breaking some news to him.    And told Duncan that Cailan seems like an ideot.  Good times.  Shame about Dunkan, though... if there's one Shem she'd let bed her, it's him.  She was greatful for a way out of the alienage, and to be recognised for her skill and bravery instead of once again being asked to submit to a life of quet servitude in the alienage.  He's this reveed warrior and he only had the kindest and most respectful things to say.  The kindness the guard who came to arrest her had shown also informed her aditude towards humans... She's bitter towards the corupt nobility and cruel business people who exploit her people, but she knows better than to be completely racist.  It was a moveing moment when she claimed responsability for all the human blood that was shed, and instead of treating her like **** like the Noble's personal gards had inside, he seemed to realy sort of admire what she did, and her willingness to die alone to protect her friends.  There was no argument from the guard when Duncan said he was inscripting her, ether.  He was so quick to hand me over, he seemed almost releaved.  I'd have to play it a gain to be sure.  But I love touches like that in the storylines.

My scoundrel, Davend, also is destined to be with Zevran, I think, though it's going to start out purely sexual.  He's going to feel really horrible about having esentialy used him once he gets to know him, though.  Zevran will doubtlessly be the jerk's saving grace.  lol  Not that Davend is intentionaly cruel mind you... just has a very narrow view of honor and duty, and with it, a sence of entitlement.  What happened at Highever has turned him rather calous and bitter, on top of that... more lost in himself than before... more tempramental... more closed off to others.  But being a Grey Warden will lead to some major wake up calls down the road, for sure.

Ah, if only there was more of an opportunity to hit on Duncan... lol. If he took the HNF up on her flirtatious offer I'd probably play HNF every time. I prefer to play a DE or CE, though.

Some of the comments on this thread make me want to try out a dwarf, though. I want to see the famous dwarf/ Zev kiss I keep hearing about

I actually didn't have a problem romancing Alistair with my CE. But, I think they were somewhat limited circumstances. She started out not letting things get to her because she wanted to be strong (I imagine her mother and father teaching her to always keep her head up and see the good in things). She was actually pretty well adjusted... well, until she became not so well adjusted, but that came later. At the beginning she was just so confused about being a GW that she couldn't really hate anyone. Also, it took me a very long time to get Zevran because I stupidly went to Denerim first, and then I started running around without finishing any of the main quests. So, I had a lot of bonding time with Alistair. XD Oh, and she was kind of ****ty, so she got pretty desperate for any action she could get...

Anyway, it worked out for me, and it's still my favorite story by far, but I'll admit those were fairly limited circumstances... =P



Ug, I'm so regretting the fact that I pretty much completely turned off both Zevran's and Alistair's romances with my HN. I wonder if I'll be able to turn them back on later once I get their approval up and get through their quests... I don't actually want to romance them, but this is my only human character and I want to see how the kisses are different. XD So sad...

If it doesn't work, perhaps you could try the console "get Zevran early" version. I would still take time, but at least you wouldn't have to do one of he MQ before even getting to Zevran, Nonvita.

If you get the "Of noble cast" mod, you HN will start out better equipped at any rate, maybe that would speed things up as well.

Yeah, it's not really a matter of replaying anything. I have other characters I'd much rather do than another HN. But my HN is soooooo anti-romance, it's quite silly actually! She deprives me of so many, er, pleasures in the game!

I agree.    You're grabbing him, but that's pretty much the Alistair romance for you.  I think he turns it around.  Have you done the Morrigan romance yet?  She voices some interesting theory on the darkspawn taint re. "longevity" which, if true, is promising for Ali-girls.     Apparently that Garahel was quite a... Okay, ahem, enough of that... [/alisquee]

You should know if you're able to turn on the romance with either of them at +26 warm . . . if you don't get the line, "Anyone tell you how handsome you are," for Ali and "Do you stare at everyone like that," for Zev, they're off.  You can turn them on via the console though, I'm pretty sure.

I had a big squee while fighting the high dragon (still breathing, that snake), that reptile used... sweep(?) so my Warden (mage) and Zev (arching) were knocked to the ground. They fell right next to eachother (hip to hip literally). The dragon used fire spit at my Warden at the moment Zev was trying to get up, and because of that he had his arm (with bow) before him. It looked like he was shielding my Warden from the attack.

You never got that? With Zevran, you can both turn on the romance and turn it off permanently before you hit +26 warm, so I guess that would be two ways to never see it.  It's definitely not the line to pick if your warden isn't completely confident!

I find the Dalish story is one of my favorites to role play... making the PC in love with Tamlen makes for interesting drama.

Did anyone else notice that if you indicate to Tamlen that you have feelings for him (in the little bit of dialogue you can have with him in the caves), that in some of the conversations you can have back at the Dalish camp, they'll hint that they knew you two were probably more than friends? Maybe I'm imagining things.

Yeah, I played my HNF as aggressive and bossy, so she preferred a romance with (unhardened) Alistair since she could boss him around... and that just wouldn't work with Zev since he's not a push over. lol.

LOL about Morrigan's comment. I'll have to try her romance sometime. That sounds amusing.

I'm really loving the PC version compared to the 360 one. Mods make things sooooo much better. It was really disappointing, when I was playing a HNF that didn't make Alistair king, to have his dialogue messed up after the Landsmeet (he'd still speak as though I'd made him king). And mods to make Tamlen and the otherwise amazingly ugly Cammen look better are nice too

No, the only thing about staring I get is his 'I get to stare at you luridly while you do so' (when asking for a question). I never turn his romance off completely, I like the flirting with him even when I'm romancing Alistair.

You won't get the "do you stare at everyone like that" line if you turn on the romance by flirting with him right away... if you keep the first few dialogues just friendly, you'll eventually get that option...

My PCs never allowed it because Morrigan is so hedgy. However, considering the cut part, it makes it a bit clearer that it is a sacrifice on her part (more or less).
I wonder what Zevran would make of all this. He has learned quite a lot about sacrifices, trust and friendship during his time with the Warden. In matters of the heart, he was very much like Morrigan.

Hmm, I assume that if you haven't taken Loghain, that it's Alistair that goes with the PC to talk to Riordan about the US?  So... we have Alistair learning about the US... then talking to Morrigan,  I wonder what on earth would be going through his head at that point. X3  Plenty of reason for he and the (fem)PC to talk, I think.

I do wonder how the extra scene would work with a male PC. Obviously Morrigan wouldn't ask Alistair about love and all that, and it'd be a different angle... either Alistair or the male PC could fulfill what she wants.  Orrrr... would she talk to the male PC's love interest instead?  Unlike Alistair, they'd have no inkling of the US, and even less room to guess at what Morrigan might be hinting at.  Or maybe Morrigan would still talk to Alistair and just skip the "do you love her" line... the "asking a friend to do something terrible" still applies to a male PC, maybe. ;D  

Hmm, I'll ahve to ponder the Zevran angle a little bit.  I can see that going any number of ways. XD;

I've never gotten the 'stare' line either, Ramante. I thought it would only appear if the romance is turned off, and I don't want to turn it off. It's too dangerous because chances are it can't be turned on again.

That comic is incredibly intriguing. At least it is to me. You see, she was always my friend, and it really bothered me that my PC had to deny her request and she just leaves. Somebody somewhere in these forums mentions that it's in the toolset that Morrigan is entirely selfish in her plans. Of course, I don't have the toolset. *shakes fist at MSSQL*

And thanks for posting the link to that comic. Looking at the situation from that angle makes Morrigan's character seem so much deeper. It kinda feels like something is missing without a scene like that, now... And I agree with what others have said about wishing you could speak to Zev about her "deal" .... his opinions are always so practical, and unlike the other companions, he seems able to see right through Morrigan.

Thanks CZ. That reminds me, does the PCmale get approval from Zevran if he sleeps with Gheyna? I've always wondered about that. The PCFem gets approval for doing that with Cammen (thank you so much again for sending over the morph.) I know neither are bi, so it's Cammen for the fems and Gheyna for the males.
