I'm not talking about then Addai67. I'm talking about immediately after Taliesen. Then, if he's not romanced, he asks to go.
Edit: He talks about there being a freedom he's never known and asks to be released. He will stay if asked, but he definitely asks to go, at least when dumped. But when he's romanced, he talks about staying, and is very happy when just asked to stay.

Well, we've established that my game is glitched twenty ways to Sunday, but my one Allistair romance playthrough had never romanced Zev but had him at +100 (no idea if it was friend/adore or what since the consoles don't get that info), and he asked to stay after the encounter.

No but seriously, that part of the game almost made me go mad. I wanted to take the girl to Eammon's estate. I mean, her mother is dead because of my PC.

hahaha, I may just have to marry Anora, just so I can try to kill her in 2.1.11
Oh Xander, the tried and true marriage of convenience... it suits him well though.
Anora completely reminds me of Irulan from Dune, on a side note. Right down to her hair and her relationship with her father.
I try, Ramante, I try =)

Edit: It also could be he only asks to leave if he's been dumped. I dumped him before the encounter to check something once (if he would leave when at warm, the answer is no) and was struck by him wanting to go. It made me sadBut also convinced me that just asking him to stay was the nicest thing to do when romancing him.

The game IS bugged many times, but it's also possible you had him romanced. People find it really easy to turn on the romance accidentally and I'm not sure why. Probably because the way Zev confirms the romance, it's SO hot, it's hard to resist. Plus, he's the only character who DOES confirm you mean you want to start something.

He definitely wasn't romanced. She told him she was wasn't bothered but wasn't interested in their first conversation and he never even flirted after that. I did my first two playthroughs with no spoilers (other than what I'd picked up with the first character), and was pretty shocked when Allistair dumped my utterly faithful mage. She would have crawled into Zev's tent for comfort but the option had permanently vanished after that first convo.
Though, if it really is just dumped Zev who wants to leave, that supports the notion that his feelings are running very deep from very early on.

I actually wish you COULD do something with her it really is heart wrenching in all seriousness (I didnt sleep with her mom however)
though unless you play a Human Noble you wont know what happened to her mother and why its so sad
though I do wonder why shes classified as an "elite" critter

Hmmm, since it was a test, I tried it from 44 warm up to 65 warm, and he wanted to leave. At 69 care he wanted to stay.
Edit; unfortunate typo *sigh*
Second edit: I had a game with him higher (not sure of exact number, but he was at friendly) and he also asked to leave.
Thanks to Natural Bodies, Dairren died with a giant erection, so I know my PC did a good thing.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

Yes, all my tests are on dumped Zevran. I am comforted by the magic of reload, and *sigh* I can't keep away from him long enough to test an actual friendship game!

He is so devastated by a breakup that it almost makes sense for him to want to leave when the opportunity presents itself.

I will check on HNF when I get home. I guess I just interpreted his "there is a freedom I've never known" differently. He tells Morrigan that it is a terrible fate not to choose one's master but that he's well pleased with his current course. Why would Taliesin necessarily change that? It may depend on your approval. There is a Persuade, after all, but I've never used it and he always stays anyway, so at the very least he doesn't take a lot of convincing.

You're a saint among men(well, if you romance Zev you'll understand why this is on topic)

HNF had dumped him (I cringe when I write that... what a sad sot I am LOL) but approval was pretty high, and he stayed without the Persuade check. Gah, I can't take that Persuade no matter what. "Stay for the treasure"? Pfeh!
