I'm not talking about then Addai67.  I'm talking about immediately after Taliesen.  Then, if he's not romanced, he asks to go.

Edit: He talks about there being a freedom he's never known and asks to be released.  He will stay if asked, but he definitely asks to go, at least when dumped.  But when he's romanced, he talks about staying, and is very happy when just asked to stay.

Well, we've established that my game is glitched twenty ways to Sunday, but my one Allistair romance playthrough had never romanced Zev but had him at +100 (no idea if it was friend/adore or what since the consoles don't get that info), and he asked to stay after the encounter.

CZ, I think even the archdemon is revolted by this.

No but seriously, that part of the game almost made me go mad. I wanted to take the girl to Eammon's estate. I mean, her mother is dead because of my PC.

The game IS bugged many times, but it's also possible you had him romanced.  People find it really easy to turn on the romance accidentally and I'm not sure why.  Probably because the way Zev confirms the romance, it's SO hot, it's hard to resist.  Plus, he's the only character who DOES confirm you mean you want to start something.

Edit: It also could be he only asks to leave if he's been dumped.  I dumped him before the encounter to check something once (if he would leave when at warm, the answer is no) and was struck by him wanting to go.  It made me sad :(  But also convinced me that just asking him to stay was the nicest thing to do when romancing him.

I actually wish you COULD do something with her it really is heart wrenching in all seriousness (I didnt sleep with her mom however)

though unless you play a Human Noble you wont know what happened to her mother and why its so sad

though I do wonder why shes classified as an "elite" critter

Oh Xander, the tried and true marriage of convenience... it suits him well though.

Anora completely reminds me of Irulan from Dune, on a side note. Right down to her hair and her relationship with her father.

I try, Ramante, I try =)

...I officially love you.   Now that you say that, I can fully see how Anora is Irulan.

He will ask to leave if he's at moderate approval. He did it with my HN- if I told him he could do whatever he wished, he just bowed and said his goodbyes and left. What was your approval at with him after dumping him?

Hmmm, since it was a test, I tried it from 44 warm up to 65 warm, and he wanted to leave. At 69 care he wanted to stay.

Edit; unfortunate typo *sigh*

Second edit: I had a game with him higher (not sure of exact number, but he was at friendly) and he also asked to leave.  On second thought, I think he was at 100 Friendly after that encounter, and he definitely asked to leave.  I did the persuade check to get him to stay, though I now know that's not necessary.

Third edit: what the hell.  He only asks to stay if romanced, and he doesn't have to be high up in the romance.    It's really very sweet!

He definitely wasn't romanced.  She told him she was wasn't bothered but wasn't interested in their first conversation and he never even flirted after that.  I did my first two playthroughs with no spoilers (other than what I'd picked up with the first character), and was pretty shocked when Allistair dumped my utterly faithful mage.  She would have crawled into Zev's tent for comfort but the option had permanently vanished after that first convo.

Though, if it really is just dumped Zev who wants to leave, that supports the notion that his feelings are running very deep from very early on.

Yes, all my tests are on dumped Zevran.  I am comforted by the magic of reload, and *sigh* I can't keep away from him long enough to test an actual friendship game!

Image IPB Good heavens, is THAT who that is?  Daughter of Ma Cousland's guest's maid? I've never had a clue.  The elite class made me wonder if this was a PC-only interaction or something.  [Checks 'track my package' on Amazon].

Gah, his responses are so complicated! Make sense, dagnabbit!

Thanks to Natural Bodies, Dairren died with a giant erection, so I know my PC did a good thing. :wizard:
And thankfully he doesn't have any heartbreakingly adorable little children to go making me feel bad about the utterly crude manner in which he went out. Imagine trying to explain that one to his kid...

He is so devastated by a breakup that it almost makes sense for him to want to leave when the opportunity presents itself.

I will check on HNF when I get home. I guess I just interpreted his "there is a freedom I've never known" differently. He tells Morrigan that it is a terrible fate not to choose one's master but that he's well pleased with his current course. Why would Taliesin necessarily change that? It may depend on your approval. There is a Persuade, after all, but I've never used it and he always stays anyway, so at the very least he doesn't take a lot of convincing.

*Sigh* I know I am going to regret this....you lot are insane...

Anyway...

Basically I have decided I need to take a female character (usually only play male charcters) through DA: O (Once I've got my Dwarf Noble Warrior and my Human Blood Mage through Orgins and completed Awakeing's with an Orlesian Warden...err yeah...), so in your opinion what is the the best choice out of City Elf or Human Noble Storyline/Romance wise (I have played both the Orgins) bearing in mind I plan to romance both Alister and Zevran for the Achivements but I also want a good story out of the play through which then if I like it enough may continue onto DA:A.

Thoughts?

But he did it with my non-dumped non-romanced HN as well. But then she was only at ~+50 with him. I wonder what approval level you need before he wants to stay as a friend.

Yeh, it may depend on approval.  It's just what he says is SO different than if romanced.  This is what's on my screenshot.

Zevran: There is a freedom awaiting me that I have never known. But I suppose the decision is yours.  Will you let me go?

This is at a fairly high approval I'm fairly sure.  It may even be in friendly, but I don't know for sure.  It's an older screenie though.  I do know at lower approval, if romanced, he WILL say: "I think, however, I could also stay here. etc etc etc"

Our insanity is only a reflection of our genius.

HN is great for a political ending- you can marry Alistair as a friend (he can be at neutral standing) and keep Zevran on as lover. You can obviously play it differently, but most people on here will tell you this ending is great.

CE is great for an emotional story- I had a great story with mine. They're a little trickier, however, as most CEs end up hating humans, so an Alistair romance can feel strange. They go great with Zevran though, and I think they're great for really understanding the depth of the Zevran romance.

HNF had dumped him (I cringe when I write that... what a sad sot I am LOL) but approval was pretty high, and he stayed without the Persuade check. Gah, I can't take that Persuade no matter what. "Stay for the treasure"? Pfeh!

You can say it to him after he tells about a poem that was recited to him by a target after he had sex with her for hours.  Before he killed her.

He WILL stay without the persuade check.  But he ASKS to go.

Edit: I was only saying that if he's not romanced, he asks to go.  Not whether he will stay or not, or whether you need to use a persuade check.  But he talks about staying if romanced.  He wants to stay when romanced, he wants to go when not, or at least when dumped.  But he is fine with staying when not in a romance as well.

But you should try asking him about his oath if he asks to go. It's actually pretty interesting, the friendship version.  The breakup version, ugh, heartbreaking.
