What's the (Romantic) Appeal of Zevran?

And oh joy! I get to go out in the field (leaving on Sunday) to Georgia.....with a 6 hour layover in the Denver airport.......now as long as I don't forget my external dive, I know I'm going to be doing!
Whoa, I think this thread is hitting the next 100 pages faster and faster!
I had posted earlier taht Selva had the Talsien encounter and turned down the earring. But my game crapped out and didn't save...but that's okay because I got to go through and do it all again! although for some reason this time, everyone by the PC dropped like a stone in the first moments of battles and she had to run up the stairs and let the Crows come at her one at a time. Took forever killing them all off one by one like that. I do love his happily "I'm with you until the ned. Or you get tired of me, or I die...or, you die..."
And at least with the replaying, Alistair didn't ninja-love my PC this time around. He's sitting comfy at +37 approval....right where he should be.
And now tonight, to go and ask Zev to the tent and get the 'thanks but no thanks from him'

- Inviting him
- Massage talk
- Antivan Boots
- Dalish Gloves
- Pre-Taliesen
- Post-Taliesen
- Second Earring
I'm sure I've missed something. xD

I know you can get approve/disapprove with convo choices but... I'm afraid I won't get the gift right and lose the romance

Wow - you have some mad skilz, Minaleth!
Edit to add: And great screenies, Ramante - thanks for sharing.

Click on the link in my sig. Read point 5 through point 7. Enjoy the most amazing romance moments in the game!
Edit: There IS a risk that you mess up the romance, but most people don't hit that. As long as you always let Zevran know you want him with you, you won't mess it up.
Second edit: You can read the entire FAQ. IT's a little spoilerish, but I tried to leave out major details. I want it to go well for people, but still keep it fresh.

The Zevran romance is very deep. I think that's why there are lots of women here. So, be deep. It wouldn't hurt if you were as sexy as this, either.
This. Needless to say. Though if you sound like Antonio Banderas, feel freee to say anyway.

Zevran and Sten are the only two characters I've been able to get to 100% without ever having to give gifts to. Weird that the rest of the party members need to be bought off. But then, maybe I'm not chatting them up correctly.

I feel oddly insulted by this statement. And I still concur with Reuben, it's thanks to Antonio Banderas.

Cypher, you really don't need to give Zevran any gifts to get his approval up. It's possible to get him to 100% or near there without them.

So this whole gift thing is for kicks then? I'm freaked I'll lose out on some valuable convos or something due to Dog or Sten hating me or somethng
Oh and the Zev FAQ is awesome!

Edit: grin just saw your post, and thank you! Gifts for Zevran . . . I usually end up giving the bars to other party members, though of course he gets the gloves and boots. His approval, if you make him feel welcome, jumps so much. It's crazy but very sweet.
But of course, if you're nervous, give him the bars too. It just isn't really necessary with him. And have fun! Oh, and one warning. His romance doesn't complete until quite late in the game.

Sten is great and easy to talk to. Just make sure you take him across certain locations, you can get a lot of approval from his 'I want to discuss something you mentioned'. Those convos are quite long so you get approval a lot of times. The approvals are mostly low but you get it a lot.

Also with Sten, as soon he asks to stop talking, stop. He hates to be pestered and you lose points. You can always click on him immediately thereafter to start again.

And how the banter was going:
Shale: So here is a question for the painted elf...
Zevran: Painted elf? Oh, that's me! I do like that.
Shale: Am I to understand correctly that the painted elf is a "crow"?
Zevran: Not literally, but... yes. I am a Crow.
Shale: As in a bird.
Zevran: Is there another sort?
Shale: So the painted elf assaults helpless statuary with its feces?
Zevran: If given sufficient cause, why not?
Shale: That is outrageous! The painted elf will stay away from me. Or else.
Zevran: (Sighs) I get a lot of that.

I loved that one - (well, I love most of them )- Not only the the final punch line, but also, "if given sufficient cause" . . . You start to wonder. And then picture.

The way Shale says 'As in a bird.', I don't know how to call it but that voice... is just... xD
What I found really funny during my elven mage playthrough was that with the Zevran ambush a bird (a crow) was hopping right in front of his feet. During the Taliesen encounter a crow was hopping up the stairs, so I was more focused on that bird hopping up and down, then that I was listening to Taliesen. ^^'

I would take Zevran over Antonio any. day. of. the. week. Jon Curry's voice is sexy, and sometimes the accent is cute (I love how he says "benevolent mark," for instance), but it's (i.e. the accent) really not the clincher. For Alistair's, maybe.

Every single time there's a Crow encounter there are crows around. Every single time. Makes me think, "Yes, I got it."Ramante wrote...

Zevran's ambush--crows.
Taliesin's ambush--crows.
Ignacio's kidnapping mission--crows.
So if you're wondering if there might be a Crow hunting you, just look around for crows. If you don't see any, you're in the clear.

The only way to win a wrestling match is to use my very best big-eyed look, and I try to save those for really important things--like chocolate!
you could always instantly win the match by kicking him where the sun dont shine :3
