Amalia's greeting right now is Hmmm? and if she asks a question, he makes the "stare luridly" comment.
It is very annoying. All we have is a bar, and no way to click on it or hover a pointer over it.

Edit: And Zevran's comment when you pick up Maric's sword makes me totally want to give HIM the damned thing and be damned to Alistair!

Well, not exactly.  You can have him romanced before that, but the status comes up as blank, not as interested.

Edit: The real problem is she can't see the numbers or status anyway!

Well, on the PC version it does show as interested prior to that but I understand if you're speaking about the PS3/X-Box version, then.

Thank you, ejoslin, I had to have a few more conversations to get enough approval to spark that conversation, and I believe it ended well, considering he asked if they would end up as more than friends, and Amalia said she'd like that

Edit because staying in character is useful.

It's worse.  He understands completely about a political marriage and doesn't mind losing the warden under those circumstances.  He's surprised that the warden will actually want to continue.  *sigh* Let me post the transcript.  I'll just do the one where they've had sex.  

Zevran: So... you have heard the rumor about the future queen? She has this elven fellow on the side. Handsome, naturally. (this is the first chance Zevran has had to discuss the sudden development in the Landsmeet -- the player is marrying the new king. And yet Zevran is the player's lover. Yes, sooooooo... awkward. Here he brings up the subject with amusement (the "elven fellow" being himself, of course).)
Warden: Naturally.
Zevran: He is no dummy either, let me tell you. (while chuckling -- he's saying he's smart enough to see the writing on the wall)
Zevran: I know how things are. I shall make it easy for you. What we have... if it can no longer be, then it can no longer be. (he is speaking gently, he knows the player's marriage is a political arrangement -- and he is inconvenient. No hard feelings.)
Warden:There's no reason it has to end. (at Adore or higher)
Zevran: Oh? I must admit I do love a good royal scandal. (a bit surprised -- the player has elected to keep the relationship going, so he shrugs and decides to go along with it)
Zevran: Let us continue on, then. We can always discuss this more later... provided one of us is not eaten by a dragon. And if so, problem solved! (he's pretty happy, ends with a morbid joke -- if one of them dies in the final battle, no one needs to worry about inconvenient royal scandals! Yay!)

And then the differences:
Zevran: So... there is a rumor going about. This beautiful woman I know, she is to marry a king. The things people will say! (in this version, Zevran and the female player aren't lovers -- still, they have been flirting and have feelings for each other. So he is bringing up the "so you're getting married?" topic to address where he and the player stands. In his funny way, of course.)

Zevran: No? I had assumed... we have become close over time, you and I. I simply thought once this all ended... (in this version, Zevran and the player have strong feelings for each other but have not slept together. He is a bit surprised that the player has elected to continue the relationship, but not displeased.)
Zevran: But if you say that nothing is to change, then I am glad. (earnest, he does love the player a lot and didn't really want to end things anyhow)

AND if Zevran is below adore, INC breakup!
Warden: There's no reason it has to end.
Zevran: Ahh, let us not fool each other, yes? There are many reasons. (gently letting down the player, "many reasons" meaning reasons to end the relationship that both he and the player should know)

OR if the Warden breaks up with him.

Warden: I'm sorry, Zevran.
Zevran: No, no, do not be sorry. I am not. (gentle, comforting)
Zevran: You have made a fine match. And if he proves a poor husband... then you know who to hire, yes? Laughs (spoken gently -- he's not sorry to end things this way -- and then he ends on a joke (and laughs at his own joke, even))
Zevran: Ahhh assassination jokes, will they never grow old? Come, let us return to the task at hand. (amused at his own wittiness, then gently suggests that he and the player get back to the adventure... as friends)

Yeah, silly approval bars. Mine is blank, he jumps right from 'blank' to interested. Does that mean he's never really neutral, but in a wait and see state? I don't know if he's blank below 0, I've never had the heart to be mean to him right off the spot, and later on I just simply never could be mean.

All the blank means is the romance has begun, but it's not high enough to be interested yet (which SHOULD happen at 26+ but apparently Sresla and Minaleth are sexier than we are).

That's easy enough. Just check your status the moment you recruit him. It will be "neutral."

The only reason I know it goes blank even when you're blow zero while romanced is from my morbid curiosity about that breakup conversation.  How nasty it really is.

Fixed.

I got big issues with my BM/AW I really don't know where to put spell points. Right now I'm completing the arcane tree because don't know what else to do. I can complete that tree on lvl 11, so when she reaches lvl 12 I can go for the second BM spell (Wynne here I come).

I'm trying to get Zevran to +26 to get the 'do you stare...' dialogue option, but it is really hard not to flirt with him. I didn't even fall for the 'beautiful is it?' line. I wanted to pick that one, but I didn't...
Leliana is trying to romance my mage, I just had the hair conversation and for some reason I think I accidently activated the romance. o.o'
