I didn't have that issue. They all died too fast. I hate killing wolves in general...

heh I just got the wolf enouncter I won by having sten taunt them and then proceeded to unleash a virulent walking bomb chain through them :3

Oh don't get me wrong I think wolves are awesome and their one of my favorite animals, but I have bad memories of that encounter... *Mass Overwhelm* *Reload..* *Mass Overwhelm* *Reload..* *sigh*

Yeh, I'm griping about it elsewhere. *sigh* I'm really disappointed. But there's things to like about it. I'm glad I'm playing a character I was not very attached to. In fact, this was my character I hated -- so all is good. I know I will be FAR more cautious about buying expansions in the future.



I didn't have very high expectations, really. But I didn't expect to be this disappointed. It's not only the lack of romance. It's not only that there's no acknowledgement of Zevran or explanation of why he's not there (I expected at least THAT much). I'm not sure what it is. But I also am not that deep into the game yet -- it may improve. But even that is a sad contrast compared to Origins that had me on the edge of my chair from the moment Shianni woke up my first warden.

hmm.... even if I hear nothing but bad about it, I'll likely get it anyway... I did the same with FFX... Heard nothing but bad about it, played a demo, and decided to get it anyway.

I decided to give in to temptation and get the PC version of DA:O finally.  I took the 40% off the digital version of the PC game with pre-order of Awakenings at the EA store.  EA won't even ship pre-orders until the game is released, so I knew I wouldn't get it until later this week.  The problem is that it still hasn't shipped, and my entire order is in some special limbo.  Apparently they think that Maryland is in Europe.  My card was charged, and I spent close to a half hour arguing that point with the very *special* tech guy.  I understand English is a spectacularly difficult language to learn, but a passing familiarity for someone doing American tech support would be helpful.  It should not take 5 minutes to read five words from me and formulate a reply that makes sense.  There was some major reading-between-the-lines to figure out wtf he meant. 

I was bumped up to the senior level of support, who will get back to me in 24-48 hours.  Maybe.  Not if it is anything like the rest of their support (6 weeks for my last tech support request only to tell me that it must be my non-standard controller...the one that came with my Xbox).  He could not or would not just cancel the order.  I was informed that I should just refuse (actually, he said reuse but I'm pretty sure he meant refuse) the package and it would be sent back, and then I might get my money back.

I'm ranting.  This is the third run in with their tech support in the last two months.  It is the primary reason that I invested in the PC version (even though the temptation of Zev mods helped).  The never-ending bugs with no way to fix it myself and no sign of BW ever fixing them was beginning to ruin my favorite game. 

Rant over.  Sorry.  I think I need to go get some Zev lovin'.

Edit:  That was a bit more ranty than I meant it to be. :blush:  My husband is home, and bored, and acting like an overgrown eight yar old.  My husband and son are sniping at each other.  The graphics card on my new PC won't play nice with DA:O.  The expansion in limbo was kind of the last straw.  Sorry.  Have wine...better now.

I'm hoping it's the the fact your playing a character you hate that souring it for you, but I will reserve judgement until I play it myself.

I know what you mean. I posted elsewhere too, but without spoilers, I'll just say that... this is missing that DAO life that I love. My character isn't developing, isn't changing, and the people I'm with are cool but.. I dunno. I'm only 5-6 hours in, but so far the economy is whack, I feel like a lot of stuff isn't acknowledged from Origins (not just Zevran but... just about anything) and it's just kind of ho-hum. At 5-6 hours in DAO, you couldn't pull me out of my chair if my butt was on fire.

This is why I hate phoning tech support I alway get the *special* guy. I would ring up again and first ask for their name (write it down) then demand that the problem is sorted NOW, if they continue to mess about or make bad excuse's, say "I've had enough, cancel my order", if they then say "we can't for X reason" demand to speak to their supervisor, then demand the same thing sorted or canceled. Your package has yet to be sent so as far as I know they cannot refuse your right to cancel your order.

Oh the reason for getting their name is incase they hang up (yes I have had this).

I do live in the UK but I see no reason why the above would be different.
