What's the (Romantic) Appeal of Zevran?

I also hope that Sresla is right, and we get to see him at least in some way shape or form, and it would even be kind of sweet if it was right at the end. I watched a play-through right up to...hmm, I don't want to spoil, so let's say, right up to a certain point and I must say I was underwhelmed. Oghren seems to pick up where he left off, I see that was already posted, so no spoiler there.
Maryland in Europe? That would be nice, I liked the state. Lots of nice horses and nice bars. Especially around UB. I really liked it there, I need to go back and visit sometime.

It's interesting to learn about though, even so most of it goes right over my head.

Yeah, shota is the male characters who ether are under-age or look way under age but are supposedly not. I can understand under-age girls and guys going for shota and lolli, if it's close to their own age group. But legal aged people ****** to under age characters is pedophilia. I guess it's much better that they deal with those desires through fantasy than reality, but it worries me, the prospect of it becoming normalised and desensitising fans.
Male characters who look female are bishonen. Bara are big manly men. Usualy characters who fall in between are still generalised as bishonen, it seems. I've heard of no special term for men who don't look like women but have some touches of feminine qualities like long hair or graceful figure. I should totaly use guilty Gear characters to make a chart explaining this. lol That 2D fighter series has a bit of everything, including a 'trap' (young man who looks and acts like a cute or sexy young woman). Zevran would fall somewhere between bishonen and bara. He's a man and looks like a man, but he's not some big burly hairy man, ether... he's a bit of a pretty boy. lol
I think the baby-like characters you are talking about are 'chibi', which literaly means 'little'. Often for comedic efect, Japanese artists will render characters like that. I've never seen it used pornographicly, and hope I never will. It's usually done for cutesy silly moments or comic strips that are not part of the story but are done as an extra on the side.
I don't like generic anime style art, ether. I was briefly enamored with it in HS, because it was so stylized and new to me. But once the novelty wore off I realized most anime and manga art falls into a mere handfull of copy-cat styles and isn't so special. I'm very picky about it, myself. The Bleach manga I like, though I find the main characters anoying... the side characters are amazing, and the art style is unique... each character is very individualized, with different body types, distinctive facial features/face shapes, distinctive manerisms and way of carying themselves...( I'm a total Shunsui fangirl. lol) The anime sucks, though.
I recomend the anime Ghost in the Shell... any of the series as well as the movie... and the anime Cowboy BeeBop. Both are very distinctive and artfully done, with a lot of focus on good story telling and atmosphere. And the action sequences are awsome. Not vavid poorly drawn bull**** like so many fangirls and fanboys like. (Fruits Basket, for example. Half assed fangirl bait.)

ok, yeah chibi is about right... freaky baby people, even if not porn, they are still exactly what gives me the heebies about anime stuff, it seems so devoid of individuality and boiled down adult emotions to that of infancy... which is where the extreme pet love comes in with fox tails and etc etc, i just don't like the ease of association there

a few series I still like (like Hellsing and Berserk) but otherwise its a big fat meh for me as well
also nowadays I can only stand JRPG's if 1)there in Japanese and I cant understand the story or melodrama and 2) if they have really really fun battle systems
Valkyrie Profile and Shin Megami Tensei series excluded but those arnt standard JRPG's (expecially Shin Megami Tensei which is closer to WRPG than JRPG)
also my Bara collection is pretty small (I mean very very small) and its mostly western art stuff

Chibis are scary and freakish expecially if they has eyes as big as your fist and yes most anime is just bleh but there are good stuff sprinkled amongst the masses of meh (see last post for examples of Anime/manga I like...though I prefer the manga in both cases)

Shota is "I havnt even hit puberty yet!" think Roxas and Sora from Kingdon Hearts aka pedophilia
Kitty ears and fox tails fall under furries
theres also Guro which is mutilation porn
also look like babies? sounds like Chibi's though thats not exactly limited to porn
as for NON anime style bara art look up tom of finland in google its not animeish at all
Kitty ears and fox tail are not furry. Furry is at least 50% animal or more. If having a few animal features but being 95% human made a character a 'furry', then I'd be a furr**** for liking ferral mutants in the old Marvel Universe. Personaly I like the idea of races, mutants, demons, spirits, and cursed people who have some non-human features. But I think that's a facination that goes back to ancient cultures. I could even go for a character who does have fur so long as the character's anatomy were more human. Like Tigra's sister, who's name I can't remember, in Marvel comics. Or Wolfsbain, who spent most of the comics I read in between her human and werewolf forms.

see there is the distinction though - i don't mind pretty boys... because they are clearly boys, but when you take away the definitive gender then i don't mind them at all as interesting characters and i may still think their personalities are attractive, but i don't see them as physically attractive (usually.. nothing comes to mind anyway). so Zevran may be slightly a pretty boy but i couldn't confuse him with a female elf very easily
never saw Bleach or Narutu(?) but that was also what my ex really enjoyed, he had stacks of it. One manga i kinda liked was Priest, but didn't get too far into it before we broke up
edit: hellsing was also pretty good
I guess i like more anime than i thought... trigun, berzerk, hellsing, priest, ghost in the shell, oh and princess mononoke

It's ok. Your friends need to be educated. *sigh* I'll have to find the "Viral is not a ****ing furry" chart images from 4chan. XD (Viral being a 'beast man from a really silly but fun anime called Gurenn Laggan... but he's 95% human with pointy teath, abnormal forearms, and claws...not furry at all! XD)
Furries are anthropomorphized animals. They are really fun to draw... very chalenging and you have to be very creative with anatomy and facial expression... especially when working in a non-cartoony style. But the whole phenominon of people drawing anthropomorphized pornography and 'yiffing' in 'fur suits' is pretty creepy. XD I've known a guy who's into furries, though, and he said for him it's not about finding animals atractive in that way, but about the idea of pretending to be something other than human. So you can rest easy knowing not all of them are into bestiality, I guess.
Gods..., I feal so... worldly. LOL

He is short though, compared to my human female. As I'm shortish myself in real life, having a guy looking up at me is a new experience. (And not an unpleasant one!).
Grave of the Fireflies is one of the saddest films I've seen. I felt awful after watching it, especially knowing it was a true story. It haunted me for quite a while afterwards.

easiest way to put it would have been "sonic the hedgehog"
but my view of sonic has been tainted by years of horrible games(funny how the only somewhat decent sonic games nowaday are 2d gameplay and not even made by sonic team any more) followed by crap like Sonic passion

like I said my moms friend cried for a good while during and after the film

its one of those movies that if it doesnt tug at your heartstrings you can pretty much be considered heartless

Oh, I love Gibli! There are still so many films by them I haven't seen yet! GotFF made me cry horribly, too, and I don't move to tears that easily when it comes to fiction. And I LOVE Spirited Away.
Oh, I also liked Trigun and Hellsing, though I though Trigun had a really week ending and was a tad too formulated. But that's anime for you. I need more Hellsing.
OMG, there's this really old shonen-ai series, created by a gay man in the 1970's, that's all very bishonen oriented, and it's an absurd comedy with a art deco influence to the art style. "Pataliro" I love it, but not in a sexual way... it's too stylized and too absurd to be turned on by... but it is a masterpiece of WTF comedy. Mmmm and that reminds me... I also love Utena. Go secret lesbian heroine!!! Not enough female characters like her around!!!
I'm totally getting off on tangents... but I love conversing with Team Zev. Everyone in this thread at this point is just cool and fun.
(*edit* Ew, don't compare Gibli to Disney. I hate their stupid princess movies... and those were their oldschool animated films.

Spirited away is a great movie to, as was Howl's Moving Castle

I agree on Triguns ending but the rest of the series was fun
as for Hellsing you read the Manga or watched the OVA there aload better than the original anime series

Id hardly call Jungle book, Lion King, Lilo and stich and Mulan stupid princess movies (none of them had princess's in them) and Aladdin was great but the Princess wasnt the main character

indeed he must, I mean the entire premise is Dracula fighting N*zi Vampires with a whole load of other crap tossed in like busty vampire chicks whos boobs grow with every issue (and the manga makes fun of this) to the incredibly hot psychotic priest and Buttler

yep - i think if the expansion uses resources from awakening then it has to require awakening to use... that's how oblivion was anyway. it can be a little tricky; you can't repackage stuff for distribution to people who don't have it, basically, so you have to be careful.
the thing is, i don't know what Zevran is supposed to be doing, canon-wise, cuz i'm not done with awakening. just hit 30 but not sure where this story is heading right now. lol. ah well, i'll finish awakening tomorrow, probably, then i'll dive into other threads and be like WHERE HE AT.

lol ah... I wasn't sure what erra you were talking about. Their classic erra was ****. I liked lion king even though it's aparently partialy ripped off of an old B&W anime. XD I don't think I could keep a streight face through the serious parts of that movie now that I'm an adult, though. Too cheesy. In Aladdin the princess is still a useless character who needs rescuing, so bleh. Lilo and Stitch was awsome AND original (novel concept!), so I loved that. My mom and sister kept comparing Lilo to me growing up. XD When we were at the theater, there were certain points where Lilo was doing something bat**** insane, and they both would just turn and stare at me with the 8D face going on. XD So I guess that's the ONE Disney movie I consider relatable. Anything with helpless princesses or girls trying to win their man, etc. is instant fail for me. I never saw Mulan. I don't like musicals usually, so once I grew up, I lost all interest in Disney with the exception of Lilo and Stitch.
