Yep that definitely qualifies for an unhappy dwarf, lol
Here's an epilogue slide with his name but truly you don't have to make a banner out of it if you're busy or unbored - my photoshop skills are teh sux, but i can live vicariously through xander's disapproval
<3

dont worry about it...it actually doesnt take me that long to make the banner at all now a days unless I suffer from artists block like I did last night~

edit:also charsen the "PC emote mode" sounds awesome... I could realisticly make a happy Xander banner without using that creepy ass smile he uses during sex!

I just noticed Zevran's expression in this scene.   I didn't know it when I first saw it, obviously, but he's on his way to death (he thinks).    I think it shows in his eyes.  Or maybe it's just my imagination.

That first impression might be what makes him come aross (to some, initially) as cold-blooded.

Hmmmm, to anti-squee a bit. The only reference to the SPOILER I've seen in the live journal blog, and, well, even they didn't see it in game. I have seen no other mention of it anywhere. With bugs, it's possible it didn't even make it in! I'm going to quit hoping to run into it :(

Oh heck! Well, we can always try to add it in, Ejoslin. Somehow.

Good catch Sannox. He does look resigned. Or sad. Or maybe dejected would be a better word.

(And a cutscene of my warden and Zevran arriving in Antiva).

Heh, maybe it's because she's dark-haired and dark-eyed, but I can't place my elf mage and Zevran in Ferelden for very long.  I keep seeing her in burgundy wraps with gold bangles and a gold nose ring, watching out for assassins while they're in the open market, or waking up in the berth of a ship somewhere warm.
I refuse to write any fanfiction about it, however.  Image IPB

My second warden took him down to the little lake next to the Dalish camp to give him the Dalish gloves.

Aw, that is sweet.

So it looks like I avoided the camp. Howvever, I did like having a place where there was no fighting and I could talk to all my companions.

I think the crux for me is that I like choices.  You could choose to avoid camp if all you wanted was fighting and quests, or you could milk the NPC conversation for all it was worth (and then some, as this thread attests).

*sigh*  I'm already talking about it in past tense.

I don't really play RPGs. The last one that grabbed me was Planescape:Torment and that was a good few years ago. There is something special about this game. I'll be really disappointed if that isn't followed through in Awakenings or later games.

Agreed.  The word that comes to mind is literate.  Our discussions here about Zevran reminded me less of girls screaming at Elvis (ok, there's some of that Image IPB) and more of my literature classes where we discussed every angle of every phrase.

I have put my mage on hold and played rtO with my rogue... I can't help it, but playing as a rogue is the most fun, I love fighting dirty and all. xD

So I took Alistair, Morrigan and Dog with me to that Elrik(?) guy and got the key and all... When suddenly Alistair says that he would like to go and I should bring Wynne too! I was like WTF, I decide who I'm taking and it is definitely not Wynne.

Awakenings system sounds.. interesting so far, I don't really mind I think. This is actually my second RPG I'm playing so I don't know much about how most games work, but I loved DA:O and not only because of the conversations with the companions, though I agree that that is a huge part of the game. I think Awakening is more aimed at playing the game and not all the stuff around it.

@CZ, I like your second banner (the grey one). =3

Yes.  I've played very few games that COULD be discussed at this level (last ones I remember were the Soul Reaver games... now those are literate!).

I know, I always take him there.
The fact that he howles(?) when you decide to burn Cailan's body is so sweet. He also barks happily when you find parts of Cailan's armor.

Got a -3 from Morri, but that's better than hearing Alistair and Wynne talk about sex.

Jenovan you played Planescape Torment that game was pretty much a Novel in game form 95% of the game was incredibly detailed dialogue and the setting was great as well (its the one game I can think of where dialogue Stats(wisdom, Charisma, Intelligence) mattered MORE than the combat ones

Mask of the Betrayer is also absolutely amazing but its not planescape level but the story and characters just enthralled me from the get go... (plus you can get a freaking bear god on your party which is just made of win)

both stories also where alot more personal on the character level and wearnt about saving the world

One would think that Gaider, as the head *writer* would be honored that people want more of his writing and characters, not less. (yes, I got my paws on Awakenings) I'm glad that he loves his new characters, but he made it rather difficult for the fans to get as attached to him. The writing for the characters in DA:O is so deep that we really can have literary discussions about their motivations, and it was immersive enough for me to actually *want* to do so. I don't quite understand how this is such a bad thing.

You can find him near the forgemasters place. When you talk to him you get 3 options;
- give him some food
- send him on his way
- 'can't remember' :P
Stupid thing is that you have to send him on his way, then he joins you. Though sending him on his way sounds more like letting him go.

I have to say that I am somewhat angry that Dog got pretty much forgotten over the course of the games.

I did do it.  I had turned him away in a hate-Alistair game thinking I'd really need to work to get that disapproval.  Anyway, Dog is there, and there's a horribly unintuitive dialog choice (makes ZERO sense -- to recruit dog, you choose "Send the dog on its way." or something like that) and you get dog.

that is a retarded way to recruit dog... I mean really "send it on its way"? shouldent it be "come boy!" or something like that because it sounds like your abandoning the poor thing

This.
I took a look at that other thread & feel even more depressed than I already was - which, to paraphrase Alistair, is quite a lot because I can feel pretty depressed.  The Masters of the Universe sound both defensive & dismissive to my overly sensitive ear.  Maybe that's just me.

In order to avoid traumatizing myself with the relationship continuity issues in Awakening, I opted to make an Orlesian GW.  Even with that, things still feel shallow - admittedly I've not gotten very far, but as many others have said, Origins had me immersed within moments of starting & kept me until the many endings.  I'll finish this, but I expect it will be easier to put it down during play.  And get back to the crapfest that is my life.  Oh joy.

Sorry - not a good day.  On a more Zevran note, have a couple screenies to share, but need to open a photobucket account when I get home first, since the Biow servers don't seem to want to upload anything other than my credit card number.

And it's back to work . . . feh.

Planescape: Torment is a must-have for all those who enjoy good story and dialogs more than killing stuff. It's amazing, I only wish it was longer.

I also recommend Baldur's Gate with BG1 NPC Project. It's a great mod that adds a whole new level to companions interaction. Same goes for Icewind Dale II NPC Project. I couldn't stand ID without it and now I've already replayed it 3 times.

Still, I keep my hope highs re. Dragon Age. Expansions usually aren't as deep as the original story, I trust that Bioware won't just throw away everything that made the game unique.

{{barkingm1}} hugs. It IS easier to take breaks, and that is not necessarily a bad thing. I haven't had a videogame take me over like that since my mmo days!

edit: @raiynsong YES!  The characters themselves are good characters, but they're strangers.  And I'm sure I'm whining WAY too much now!  So I'll stick with Zevran squee.  Hmmmm, I need to get my mage through the deep roads so my warden can spend some more quality time making out with a certain Antivan!

Hmm, sounds like I'll have to look into Planescape: Torment a bit. Up until the past couple of years, I've been more of a console gamer than a PC gamer, so I suppose that's skewed what I've been able to get a hold of, too. ;P

*hugs barkingM1* :( Hope your day picks up a bit~
