I need AT to play, it's just necessary as hell
But I love the extra dog slot since otherwise i would not bring the dog with me.. and, well,

... not to be overly sappy or anything but I played DAO for the first time the day after my 18 year old dog died quietly while she fell asleep with her big goofy head on my lap. I had found her as an abused, broken puppy when I was a just a kid and so it was hard to see her go after I basically assumed she had turned into a lich at her age. But it was time, and she had a great life. So, I played DAO the next day and got the Mabari as my mage. I actually did choke up a bit,... my Mabari even actually looked like my dog (pit bull / bulldog mix), except brown and not blonde, and my mage also adopted her. Anyways, it was nice to see something like her sweet happy face, even if she was a little pixelated and far too energetic. 
 
But it would have been nice to see her at the coronation and in Awakening. Ah well. I assume she's somewhere in the Keep chasing after that dumb kitten.

Speaking of...has anyone done this?  I'm wondering how we find our sweet canid companion.  I really do love dog.

I did do it.  I had turned him away in a hate-Alistair game thinking I'd really need to work to get that disapproval.  Anyway, Dog is there, and there's a horribly unintuitive dialog choice (makes ZERO sense -- to recruit dog, you choose "Send the dog on its way." or something like that) and you get dog.

One more example of the appalling writing on RtO.  It had so much potential too.

Sandtigress made the point that in Awakenings you are the commander and should be a little separated from your troops --- you're no longer one of a rag tag band of fellows.

And so the new conversation system works for that game. And I think that's mostly true.



but...as a commander, then, I'd want to have some people I could talk to. Maybe back at keep ? or at the inn... or somewhere we could be more personal.



Ah well. I do still like the game and will still enjoy Awakenings. I'm not sure about the replayability tho. but "we'll see"

your suppossed to be able to get a letter from Zevran but for some reason you cant for some odd reason!?

Gilded Age, thank you very much for the link. I hope I didn't sound like I doubted it was in the material -- I'm just worried that it won't be in the game anyway. I have to tell you, there's an quest giving NPC that SPOILER ALERT says she has a SPOILER (LOL) for the Warden Commander. First couple of times I clicked on her my heart stopped! I think I have to be at least a third of the way through the game, maybe more, and still nothing.

Then again (another spoiler sorry), my Warden who was in a political marriage to Alistair and full romance with Zevran was treated like she had been in a full romance with Alistair. I choose a different character to import in once I realized that in the faint hope that there would be SOMETHING.

I'm still hoping, though.

Edit: Actually, Leliana also having a SPOILER in there is BAD news as a few Leliana fans who have finished the game were complaining that there was no mention of her at all except in the epilogue.

Hah, I can barely read dialogs right now.  It totally needs to be in there though!  I just totally spoilered the game for myself and read the epilogue card.  Hahahaha.  I'm terrible.

"crows came after him again and he went to deal with them"

or

"he was homesick"

when I heard that the romances wearnt going to be in the game I figuered he was off in Antiva any ways

I can't stay long. I'm at a buddy's house, watching him play through awakening. His PC is downstairs now (no spoilers), and I must say, the person's son who the HN detested the most is quite intriguing. Unfortunately, my friend's PC is a dwarf. I mean I've nothing against dwarfs, not at all, but I'd love to see the HN in that cut-scene.

I have to hurry, my pal is quite tired of playing, but I want to see more. Luckily his boyfriend is my co-conspirator, hehehe.

It's not a bad expac, although I must say that the exclamation marks look weird. I most likely will buy it, as soon as the price drops. Interesting, but not nearly the level of DA:O. Not even close.

@walina FORGET your epilogue card, especially if you went to rebuild the grey wardens with Zevran. Really, all the Epilogue cards were discounted. MY warden was the savior and new ruler of her people, and yet no one bowed to HER!
