Alistair tries to get Zevran to admit that after the Blight he is going to leave the PC and go back to the Crows. I think it's the only party banter where I've heard Zevran sound angry. However, next dialogue he was back to his usual self, playing at being offended that Alistair might impugn his patriotism as a new Fereldan. I love it!
Wow!! Zev and Alistair are standards in my party, I hope I get to hear that eventuallyAddai67 wrote...
So, earlier on I was saying that there was no Alistair banter about the Zevran relationship. That does seem to be true, although I was running various characters together along Orzammar's platform to make sure I hadn't missed any dialogues (the things you do after multiple playthroughs, heh) and I did come across a delicious Zevran-Alistair dialogue. Oh, but Leliana. She totally wants Zevran. I told her "he's taken" and she just repeated herself about simply observing her traveling companions. Whatever! Back off you Orlesian tart! LOL
Okay, I had installed the Dialogue Tweaks mod that lets you kiss Zevran anywhere, but it was only last night that he hit Adore... I had to try it when I saw it in the menu, and was rewarded not only with Zevran's amused "Oh, what's this?", but Alistair's awkward "I'll be looking at something else. Over here." I giggled for probably 5 minutes after that. /sigh Yep... I don't know how I'm going to be able to ever play an Alistair romance knowing Zev is right there. :innocent:

I got that Alistair-Zevran bit when I had only the two of them in the party. I wish I could remember exactly what was said, sorry. It goes something like:
A: So after all this is over, you're going back to the Crows, aren't you?
Z: What I do rather depends on your fellow Grey Warden.
A: Sure, but if you were really free to do what you wanted, you would go back, wouldn't you?
Z: *I don't remember exactly what he said here*
A: Aha! So you are going to go back!
And then I don't remember what Zevran said, only that he definitely sounded peeved. That's all heavily paraphrased, maybe someone else has the actual text.

I'm baffled to read about the attraction of Zevran. I'm not arguing: everyone has her own preferences. I'm just seeking a little explanation.
In Threads like this, I see a number of women and female characters find Zevran attractive, when I mistakenly figured his primary vibe would be 'sleazy.'
I do understand that preferences vary, and that men don't always understand what women like, even when they think they do. And I hear this, too:But the instant, perpetual, and indiscriminate interest in bedding everyone seems a poor formula for making the main character feel valued.ejoslin wrote...
And anyone who thinks a guy is sleazy just because he hits on you immediately hasn't known too many guys!
He reminds me of a high-school friend whose similar good traits - a sense of a humor and delicate good looks - were overshadowed by his habit of lobbing compliments too clunky to disguise their sexual intent. Girls looked at him like a dog in need of neutering.
Oddly, that same friend is now staggeringly successful as a flirt with nearly the opposite approach, a tendency toward Morrigan-like challenges. Not all women want the same thing, of course, but I believe he never found any who liked his eager-beaver style... the same one employed by Zevran.
I'm a writer, and I've misread him. I missed an appeal Zevran must have, and I'd like to understand it better. What makes him click with you, if he does?

What drew me in was his unwavering loyalty to my PC, even though she romanced Alistair. The silly girl. Got her heart cut into ribbons, but Zevran was there to do the healing.
In subsequent play-throughs I discovered more and more depth to the Antivan elf - more depth than I have ever seen in a game-romance. For example, when he insists that my PC choose either him or Alistair, there is a part in the conversation that goes something like this:
Zevran: "I can just step aside....."
PC: "If that's what you want."
Zevran: "What I want? It's not so simple as this."
To my PC it meant one thing. He knows he feels something for the PC that gives him great pause. Nothing is 'simple' anymore for Zevran where the PC is concerned. He might wish it, he might fight it, but deep down he knows he's fighting a losing battle.
Edited to thank Jenovan for the marvelous work. Thanks, I'll go and get him as soon as I can. The blonde one. I like blondes, so what?
Hehe, thank you, and everyone else who's given him a try! :3Sabriana wrote...

Exactly -- the Taliesin encounter just seems like the turning point. Maybe it's that he finally sees that he CAN be completely free of the Crows, and can allow himself to think about that most dangerous four-letter word? Going along with his mentions of this being a new way of life for him and everything...ejoslin wrote...
So much for my human mage who romances Alistair play through for now . . . It's funny how while the romance is considered deepened after Taliesen, it really seems like it had deepened way before then, just he stopped fighting it after the encounter.

No, I got that at close to 100 Friendly with Leliana. Of course, shortly thereafter I started asking her polite and innocuous questions about Marjolaine and next thing I know Morrigan is talking about me shooting glances with "that girl." Too bad there isn't a dialogue option to respond "Whoa whoa WHOA, hold the phone!"Cuddlezarro wrote...
but I only ever I get the standard "hes quite a character talk your zevran" conversation I take it I have to pursue a romance with her which I somehow start without even meaning to much to my annoyance in all my Playthrough's except the one where I forced myself to romance her

Heh, I don't think this is in any way Zevran-specific, but I just got the stern talking-to from Wynne about love vs. responsibility. I hate that talk! Most of the PC's answer choices seem petulant and/or confrontational. Sooo not my PC :/
