Ok so here is a slightly Zevranny yet non-spoiler screenshot from Awakenings. It's just a screenshot of my new heartwood shield. Yep, there's a slight Zevran connection...

*Looks at the shield and gets all kinds of naughty thoughts*

Bad Charsen, bad, bad man

Aww, nice, Charsen!

I'm a bit miffed about the heraldry, since I don't play anyone with a shield. ;( It's heraldry, for gossakes, can't I apply it to other stuff?

It's a shame that S&S is so insanely dull to play, since it is kind of nice to bear a crest.  I wish they allowed you to put heraldry on your armor or somewhere else.   (edit:  Ninja jenovan takes the prize!)

My arcane warrior would probably be able to use one of those heraldry items, but definitely not the Crows!  She's teyrna of Gwaren so probably Gwaren, but I haven't seen Gwaren heraldry anywhere??

Sorry Jenovan.
Small Spoilers---------------> I thought Justice/Kristoff was a warrior? We (boldly co-owning my
friends game) didn't get to Justice yet, so I'm not sure. Yeah, it's
really too bad that the one true tank was killed off almost right away.

**************Could be spoilerish for Awakenings***************************

The expac sort of validates my playing the HNF as around 26 - 27 years of age. Nathaniel claims his brother died in the war. That alone is not enough, even kids, unfortunately die in wars, but in a banter with Oghren, Nathaniel claims that his brother could drink just as much as the dwarf and then trow up in his shoes (paraphrased). Thomas is 'a few years younger' than the HNF, so that would put him in the ~20 year old range.

*********************End Spoiler****************************

No, I'm not going editing-insane. I'm trying to get the font color in a way that people need to highlight it to read it. It's not bloody working! Gah!

Edit X 2: Yeah, it finally worked. Highlight to read the spoilers.

[very slight spoiler: highlight to read] Yeah, my mage is an arcane warrior...and thinking of trying battlemage too. But I do prefer a staff, however, the heartwood shield and vigilance sword are hard to pass... but i'm going to make Justice carry it anyways.
....but it would be nice if we could put the heraldry on other stuff, I definitely agree.

I did the same thing with my Heartwood. Every shield that Justice used, actually, since he was my only S&S.

Just a check too, has anyone actually GOTTEN a Zevran epilogue? Or is it still just a rumor? I didn't, but I imported a crappy save for it (one where I married Anora [shudder - I thought I'd saved over it]).

so Oghren are you implying I will somehow end up in bed with old Nathaniel? ...well I do find him kind of hot but hes no Zevran :3

Could be he means a threesome, Nathaniel does make a comment that implies he's down with the guys.

....*has dirty thoughts*

Charsen this would be a wonderful time for a Xander approves banner but all my pictures are of him looking Angry and stuff *nudge nudge wink wink*

Like on a breast-plate? I always liked the griffons on the warden commander's armor.

for those of you who aren't monitoring the "dialog changes" thread, it seems to have evolved a bit into what's good about BOTH systems and what we'd like to see in the future. Most of the comments have been pretty well thought out. If you haven't weighed in yet on the thread I suggest you do so. Mr Gaider IS reading and responding and it might help shape future expansions.

I enjoy the quest lines and dialog in Awakenings. and I would recommend it to other people. There are some things that still jar me, and I still would like more in-depth dialog and romance options as well as the option to see the old characters again. (I've only done TWO of the quests lines I think). I definitely don't think I wasted money. BUT it feels more like a DLC on steroids than a true expansion.
It's fun, just not gush-worthy like Origins is.

OOOH!!!  Putting those emblems on a breastplate would be wonderful

I actually think I did see Gwaren at one of the Amaranthine shopkeepers.  Alas, I won't be able to check this until later.

I think next time I play through Awakening, I'll roll an Orlesian S+S Warden Commander because the heraldry is pretty cool.  It'd also give me a challenge taking a level 18 no-Fade-bonuses warden through the adventures instead of my insanely overpowered level 24 (at the beginning) warden.

And, once I get my fill of the S+S play, I can respec him/her to a DW warrior!

Yes! :D  Or on the shoulder plates or breastplate of the leather armor... (it annoys me to no end that all the leather armor sets, that I've ever seen anyway, have the same little painted design on them... Posted Image )

I rolled up an Orlesian to get a new portrait here, lolz, but I did play him for a short while. It's quite a lot harder to play without all the bonuses and carry-overs from the first game.

And very refreshing since my 25 imported mage was cakewalk city. "Mana clash, perfect storm... now what were you saying? I couldn't hear anything over your unimpressive death."

Heh, my rogue is still using her rose thorn and felon's coat and backstabbing for between 100 - 125 regularly. Since those are fast hits, things just die. I'm almost done with the game, it was fun, I'm looking forward to going back to DA:O.

I think after reading David Gaider's last response, there will never be another game with the type of dialog that there is in DA:O. It's too expensive, I guess. I wonder if they really lost money on DA:O. I somehow doubt it. Well, if further games go from epic like DA:O to good or very good, they'll make less, even with cheaper production.  I guess it's a matter of finding that point, production vs sales.  Understandable, but very sad nonetheless.

Not my concern. I am looking forward to having Zevran and my Warden fall in love again. Even loading a game up to grab a quick kiss just makes me SO sigh! My poor warden has been missing him!

Oh wow. A lvl 25 mage. I can't even imagine what a lvl 25 mage can wreak, let alone a lvl 25 BM/AW. I've neglected my mage, she's got the AW, and I'm saving up books and points for her getting the BM. I've been too busy watching my pal play Awakening.

Nice little game, but meh. I won't get to see the Zevran epilogue because he never romanced him. He says Zevran is not his type, he says he isn't in the least bit attracted to slight, blond men, not even pixel ones. Bummer. He plays Zevran as a friend though, but I don't think that a friend will get an epilogue, right?

Read: Their dev team has been repurposed to develop the new MMO, and they no longer have the resources for a single-player experience at the same level as before the MMO was announced. Additionally, EA somehow managed to post a poor performance in the last fiscal quarter, despite ME2 and DAO going triple+ platinum. DLCs for DAO alone grossed over 1million. So, really, it comes back down to EA and the MMO, and that is a dose of killmenow reality.

I  agree with all these posts. Ah well. Hopefully there will be other games, and hopefully they won't acquire the same leash-holder as a few other developing companies who are, unfortunately, nevermore. :bandit:
