Which backgrounds begin the game already married? Dwarves have a spouse, right? Both genders? What about city elves? Is that marriage purely political and not about love?

i mean, if you're engaged/married to Zevran... but you're already married... shouldn't that be a problem?

City elf spouce dies in the origin
Dwarf Nobles get a one night fling if there a dude
Dwarf commoners get zilch
Human Nobles can boink a visiting nobles son or their elven handmaiden and they die in the origin (and yes they are both bi)
Dalish get zilch

The male City Elf's fiancee doesn't die (although she does get kidnapped); they kind of agree that since he's off to the Wardens, that's the end of that.

Oh, and the CE's wedding is arranged. They've never even met before the wedding day. ;D

I didnt know about the male side of the story I just assumed the woman died as well (iv only played female city elf)

Ok so dwarf nobles don't actually get married... that makes things easier. so... wait, don't they have a kid or something? do they ever go and, you know, do anything with that? I should play through as one sometime, but tbh i'd rather work on this mod. so much zevran squee, so little time!

And good point about Anora/Alistair. I think I can see work with this though


edit: wait, the male city elf has a kidnapped wife...and that's never... resolved?

the one night stand male dwarf nobles have in the origin ends up getting the woman preggers infact there san entire quest dedicated to it once you get back to orzammar

ROFL, no, no, you rescue her, along with Shianni and Soris' fiancee who were also kidnapped. (Another bridesmaid was kidnapped with them, but she was killed.)  It's that process that gets the elf conscripted. ;D

When Zevran asks about it in the Alienage, and you say she was taken, he comes back with, "But surely you rescued her?" or something like.

I don't know, it's an interesting difference in the two origins...

I feel like with the male elf, your focus is much more on Shianni, but as the female, YOU were one of the victims... it seems quite different.

and as a female you get that epic scene where soris slides the sword betweent he guards legs and they take one look at you and are like oh ****

I'd have to go back and look at the exact dialogue, but at least talking to the fiancee, it seemed like there was this bit of amicable "well, I guess THIS isn't going to work".

When you come back to the alienage later, she's gone home to Highever by then.

Edit: Confirmed the status of the fiancees before Landsmeet. XD;

well, i think for my zev mod i will consider the warden to be unmarried, unless it's to alistair or anora then - and zev doesn't seem to care too much about that anyways from what i've seen (or, he understands, is what i should say)

Male City Elf origin isn't nearly as badass as female!

wardens can only smile if they are sexing. it's part of being one with the taint.

wardens can only smile if they are sexing. it's part of being one with the taint.

I don't like it. At all.  I had seen it before, in text format (the text table gilded age posted), but I didn't get the full meaning of it until I saw it in game.  And I was . . . ugh.

well im maybe 3/4 the way through Awakenings now. I like all the new companions, well a bit less the dalish mage just because she's so shrill to start (not that she doesn't have reason to be).



I can understand now why the ended up with Oghran as carrryover. All the other chars are either romanceable (in which case, harder to program) or are Sten and Shale, both of whom would be "odd" as carryovers. That said, they ended up giving us TWO mages and TWO rogues as new companions and only one choice of tank--I guess because Oghran is a warrior at least and could be specced guardian for extra defense...



I'm hoping they tie up some of the main story line arcs. I have a feeling that after the entire Awakenings playthrough I'll feel about as if I completed ONE of the main quests in Oriigins...In other words.. READY to start relationships with them... And yet their approvals are all pretty much at 70+ right away... oh well. It's enjoyable enough I suppose but it's no Origins.



Off to read the spoiler Ejoslin posted. Figured there's not reason to surprise myself..
