Thanks for the answers about public kissing. I don't know why I feel this need to examine every little piece of the whole Zevran romance, but there you go.

I kept Morrigan below 70, so no jealousy, no matter how high Zevran was (even at love). (I did take her a little bit higher on a save game, and yes, that led to her being jealous, but not Zevran - although he will still force a choice. It was worth it for the breadbox comment,, though). So yes, I see that his trigger is the other character getting to 70 and caring about you. But still no jealousy. I think he even approves if you seduce Cammen in the Dalish camp, right in front of him (although I will have to run that through again, because I can't remember what his approval was, but definitely romanced). But one kiss even before high approval - it doesn't make sense.



Jealousy of Alistair - there does seem to be some real animosity between them, doesn't there? Maybe he does see him as more of a threat in some way. I will think about that.

Yeah, CZ. My mage got all indignant, and Sten (in the way only Sten can) told her that the Qun think mages are beasts. They had quite an interesting conversation (part of which was only taking place in my head).

I have him at 47+ already, and I've given him only one present.

I like him, especially that "you can't be a woman" dialogue. I'm with Zevran here. It's like talking to a water-wheel. He cracks me up, his snarks are so dead on target.

I was in the car last night and "Bad Romance" came on the radio.  Portions of that song reminded me of Zevran, too (yes, I have a one-track mind these days - why do you ask? )

Sannox . . . *grin* You and I are SO much alike in this. I feel stupid some times that I know the answers to all of these questions, down to facial expressions in the tent.

Leliana also gets jealous, though. I don't think it's an Alstair/Zevran exclusive thing. And from what you say, it happens with Morrigan too.

And no, it's ANY kiss in public with the romance turned on that will make Zevran/Leliana jealous. It's not tied to approval -- it's tied to being romanced. And don't let Zevran fool you -- he's jealous. He tries hard to make it sound casual, but it's confirmed by the toolset, he's trying but not quite succeeding at making things sound like they're no big deal.

With Alistair, I don't think it's real animosity between them so much as testosterone poisoning.

Edit: It's a tricky thing about Zevran's romance.  What he is saying, and what his reactions are, are often quite different.  The most obvious hint that he's jealous is of course the kissing in public and the big approval drop that goes with it.  But also, there are answers you can take when he's forcing you to choose that show it pretty clearly as well -- and how relieved and happy he is if the warden picks him though he's fully expecting to be dumped.

But he'll tell you that he'll happily step aside, then you're hit with a HUGE approval drop.  Yeh, that's happy all right.

Edit: because obviously I can't remember the difference between a toolbox, a toolkit, and a toolset!  Took me three tries to get it right.

Sabriana, I loved that too.  These things we've been saying and people have been scoffing -- haters being haters and such -- and turns out we weren't imagining things!

The other fun companion to take to the LC Docks talking to Carrol is Shale (para-phrased; don't know the exact words) - "Let me crush a body part It can't possibly miss".  The follow-up when talking to Gregoir about Carrol is just as funny "Did it also tell him not to go insane?"

I love Shale too, Willikat. I wasn't sure if I could warm up to her, but the walk-out scene from Honnleth had me in stitches. Besides, I make it a point not to discard anyone without trying to get to know them.

Strangely enough, they all grew on me (some more than others), except for one. That one I liked less and less, and now she tends the fires.

Maybe she can do some gardening with the emissaries. Who knows with that one, especially after RtO.

Ejoslin, that's exactly right. The VO comments are awesome. Next "Zevran's a sleazy, shallow, etc." comments will get the tip to check the toolset. Not that it would matter. It's said that hope dies last, but I'm convinced it's prejudice that actually dies last.

Oh, that's funny, I was listening to exactly the same song and thinking much the same thing.  'Bad romance' reminded me of his corny romance lines. 

When my mage was rushing through so he could get to the Landsmeet and the Taliesin encounter (did anything else happen at the Landsmeet?), I was playing that song and Lady Gaga wailing near the end 'I don't want to be friends!  I don't want to be friends!' made me laugh - so true.

Have you missed me?  I had so wished to show you the sights of Antiva, but alas, the darkspawn always seem to intervene and command your attention like a jealous courtesean.   My bed is not the same at night without you warming it, even with the silken sheets - and  yes, I am getting my fill of  Antivan leather!  (only in the shops, not on the ****s my little minx, so do not get any ideas into that beautiful head of yours)

This business with the Crows will be done soon - please do not worry mi amor, I promise I'll return, perhaps with some fresh ropes so we can continue our little 'adventure' - yes?

Funny thing is +12 is exactly the approval I get when my warden asks him to the tent first. I know you can get up to +23, but I always have to ask about love!

Another Shale fan - yay!!  Seriously, she is aweome in combat (if developed correctly), but I most enjoy taking her along for the sarcastic commentary.

Sabriana, have you taken her with you to Redcliffe for the Connor Abomination confrontation?  There are some classic Shale lines in that scene.  I think my favorite is when the Connor-Demon says to Isolde, "Quiet, woman! You are starting to bore me." and Shale pipes up with "And here I thought I was the only one." 

For me, Shale is the only companion who gives Zevran a run for his money in the funny comments department, though I admit Sten is a close third.

I think they eventually come to detente, but in the way I imagine it with my HNF, there will always be something going on under the surface.  I don't imagine Alistair being thrilled that she kept Zevran at court and relies on him so much.
