Funny thing is +12 is exactly the approval I get when my warden asks him to the tent first. I know you can get up to +23, but I always have to ask about love!
Heh... Kylin got a +16 when asking Zev to the tent last night, but he turned down the massage earlier in the game, so I'm not sure how that affects how much approval you get for doing the inviting. Moreover, Kylin's responses were RP driven so there was no asking about love.
This was... well, "rebound tent time" for lack of a better term to describe it. Kylin had just asked the Arl to send Jowan back to the Circle (rather than executing him), and was ready to move on with his life with that whole episode behind him. Talking to The Guardian made Kylin realize his real motivations, and the fact that Jowan didn't deserve to be betrayed for being unable/unwilling to love another man. Kylin is also realizing that he was infatuated with Jowan, rather than really being in love. Not sure how long it'll take him to completely fall for Zevran (it's bound to happen; the guy has good taste

), but for now, casual works just fine for him. Kylin's in no hurry to get emotionally involved (and possibly crushed) again at this point.
While part of this solely depends on the characterization / storyline / background the player chooses for their Warden, I think some of those choices are also have a tendency to follow certain generalizations of gender (i.e. women tend to place more emotional connection into s3x than men).
I'm sure that's not the case for many character builds out there, it's just interesting for me to examine my own choices in the game, contrasting how I played as the Female Dalish Elf versus how I'm playing the Male Mage Elf, pursuing the same love interest. Just talking out loud to myself, yet again LOL
BTW - Gave Zevran the boots right after tent time, and only got a +3, since my game has bugged to 100 level without encountering Talisan yet. Trust me, I'm not complaining
