No, sorryBut you don't get the earring until quite a bit after Tamlen! Hmmmmm. Just muck it up on the first offer maybe? *grin*
Edit: Crossed out the line. You ONLY get it if you tell him you need to end it AFTER he falls in love.
Ah. I see.
Well, I guess I'll just have to RP it that she thinks she's moved past Tamlen, accepts the earring, then has an emotional freakout in which she breaks it off with Zevran... That's going to hurt. >.< But if something does happen in the future, it will be worth it! And if not, well, it was pretty much going to end up that way anyway...

As for Cullen, he didn't have much to say to my male mage besides that he was verry glad that I survived. He sounded sincerely sympathetic. So I didn't get any strong feelings from him that others seem to get. What does he say to a female mage?
He's an early (though not realized) LI for female mages. You can't pursue him, but you can make him nervous enough to run off, if you try to talk about it. There's a mod that adjusts it so he's flagged to react the same way to men or women.

Well, Alistair was practically a bisexual romance option. I mean, he was most of the way there, really, if he hadn't been straight...
But, yeah, it's gotta be the do it from behind thing...

It's hinted in gossip you can overhear that Cullen, eh, has a crush on you. If you talk to him, he stutters, and if you flirt with him (by asking him if he wants to get to know you better *nudge, nudge*), you literally send him running. It's pretty lolz worthy. Jowan whispers a comment about Cullen liking you if you have him along, too.
There's a post somewhere on the boards from Gaider that's pretty funny too... about if he'd made a Cullen romance it'd have to be "creepy as hell." lol.

I'm probably not a good representative, being a female playing a male PC, but I do like what I have seen of the Morrigan romance thus far. It reminds me of the Zevran romance in that it's not storybook by any stretch, but promises to be deeper for that fact (I can't say if that's how I'll feel by the end). With my Aedan character, what I feel from playing him is that despite being a playboy type, he has a fierce protectiveness of Morrigan. You would not think that she would respond to that, but she does. You see this right out of Flemeth's hut. As a female PC, I had never used the line "she will come to no harm with us," and was used to getting a +4 for that conversation. When you do use that line, however, you get a +8. Her Fade dream is almost as wrenching as Zevran's (ok, not quite, but close). She has a fragility and pain that you do get glimpses of even at Flemeth's hut.Nonvita wrote...
Eh, I guess so. It's still pretty creepy to me, though. I mean, she just (in most cases) used your sperm to make a God Baby, then ran off to Orlais or elsewhere to raise the baby to do who knows what... It just doesn't sound like the type of relationship people should want to run back to, regardless of having feelings for the person. And the idea of spending years of one's life searching for her just doesn't seem romantic to me in the slightest. But I know a lot of people would disagree, and of all the possible 'romance packs' it would definitely be the highest selling. =P
Meanwhile, my Cousland thought he was just sowing oats, but ended up feeling more and more for her. At Wynne's disparaging chat, he told her "you don't know Morrigan and don't have any right to make such judgments," and realized that that was true- that he could see Morrigan in ways others could not. He wanted to punch Alistair for calling her an evil b*tch. If he'd had the option, he would have punched him.
So what I get from my sense of the ending is that Morrigan feels it's necessary that she raise this god baby away from society. It's her duty to do that, not her wish. The PC, well like anything it depends on the person. I could see my Aedan trying to go back to his normal life as nobleman Warden (whatever normal means in that situation), but realizing that he simply can't let Morrigan raise his child by herself, no matter what he agreed to before he let her do the ritual.

LOL. Yeah, pretty much. The quote from Gaider:
If I wrote a Cullen "romance" it'd have to be creepy as hell.
Cullen: I just want you to know... I love you.
PC: I love you, too.
Cullen: No, no... I REALLY love you!
PC: Er... and I love you, too.
Cullen: You don't understand! I think about you all the time, every waking moment! I look at you and I... I want to touch your skin! I want to brush your hair!
PC: I don't...
Cullen: Ever since I saw you in the mage tower I wanted to protect you. Keep you somewhere safe. FOREVER.
PC: ...
PC: ...awkward

I hear VAST's "Pretty When You Cry" and see the video every time someone mentions Cullen romance. And then I feel like I need to go throw up a little.
Aside from liking the character, y'know, I just get the impression its more that kind of creepy after the Tower.

I replayed last 2 hours of Awakening to get to know some of my companions better and finish quests. I read Zevran's epilogue card again and I like it better, it suits my character.
SPOILER for the epilogue card
She could take over he crows just for a while, simply for fun and to mess with them. It would be perfectly in character and not impossible, she eats dragons for breakfast. I respecced her as a constitution-based Blood Mage and the game was ridiculously easy.

I'll say that guys are often actually more romantic than girls, so your being a girl probably has less impact than you'd think. XD
I guess the reason I disagree is because there's a difference between caring about someone and being in a relationship with someone. I don't doubt how much the Warden cares for Morrigan and Morrigan cares for the Warden- I'm sure it's very powerful. Still, I don't think that makes the idea of tracking her down in pursuit of some idealized relationship any more palatable. Breaking up with someone you care about is hard enough without them showing up years later and saying they want to start over again. That, to me, would just be horrifying.
Going after her for the child's sake I can absolutely understand. That's a big deal and even I would want to resolve that (if I ever get around to my male playthrough I do hope to romance Morrigan, and I'm sure I'll be as upset as anyone about the ending XD), but devoting months of your life going on a wild search in the desperate hopes of finding her just isn't my idea of romantic or sensible.
Meh, we all agree to disagree.

Same here, though I'm not really finished I need to kill one more thing then I'm done. The thing with Awakening is an imported Warden is completely overpowered. I don't know if the same goes with the Orlesian Warden, but the imported one is just... Looking at your opponents makes them drop dead.ejoslin wrote...
I may have liked awakenings more had there been a few mentions of Zevran. I'm not sure though. It felt weird clicking on objects. I just didn't bond with anyone. I actually finished the game with the felon's coat and rose thorn.
Besides the overpowered part, I really like Awakening, the story is pretty good. The only thing that I'm not really 'getting' is the conversation system, that is just.. weird.
@CZ, how many cows are there in your game? Wynne, Anora.. that Delilah figure, anyone else?

I disliked that epilogue card enough that I think it'll be driving me to fic once I finish this awful epic personal project I'm working on. I haven't decided if I'm going to indulge that urge, though its pretty strong.

The mage tower DID weird me out once I learned about TRANQUILS . Seriously, the idea that they could take your mind away just really really bothered me. I would have run like hell from the tower at that point. Irving can be seen as a sweet old guy if you just look at the surface, which one of my mages did. but if you go further---WHOA.. and the head templar Gregoir (?) was a real creep. Cullen himself was creepy even in the origin, let alone later on. I played Jowan as a friend because he at least was "normal" unlike every other creepy mage in the place. (though I agree it could have easily been made creepier and more compelling). But I think they kept it tepid so that you could either LIKE Wynne and the mages and dislike apostates, or vice versa.
Though how ANYone could like the Circle given the practice of tranquils.... Shiver.....
I'm one of those people who liked awakening even though I didn't like the new conversation system very much. I HATED the new runecrafting but realized the reason I did was because of how time-wasting it was to run out of the throne room, then back then in then out, etc etc...
Nate might be bi but he definitely likes women in universe... I think he's much more believable as Loghain's son than Howe's though... but they I kind of find Loghain a bit compelling when I'm not a city elf.

He's just an easy target. And that picture just caught him a a particularly Gollum moment, as Ramante mentioned.
Really, though, that part of his cut scene is cute. Of course, Zevran's toughness/ worldliness >>>>> Alistair's sweetness... but Alistair is still a good character.
