Ohh, Addai, that's a beautiful story, and it ties in so neatly with Howe and the Couslands. I never even thought of that, but my angry mage was definitely torn away from her family by force.
Thank you.

It's all tied to game events and dialogue. You can tell the Mad Hermit you're from Highever (can't tell Leliana that, but I skirt around those responses) and you can tell Morrigan you love your mother. Can I tell you how torn up my mage was about Isolde and Connor? She still sacrificed Isolde, but the injustice of it all made her so furious at the world. It all happened because Connor could not remain with his family if it were known he was a mage, and his mother couldn't let him go. If her own mother had been a noblewoman instead of an elven servant, my PC could imagine that she might have been in a similar place. Then it also hurt her so much when Alistair accused her of being callous to it all, especially since at the time she was falling in love with him (almost as big a Captain Clueless moment as him forgetting about the HN's family being murdered). But how do you explain all this to a former templar?
I also just have to write Alistair a happy ending on my Zevran characters. Via that trip to Highever with my PC and Zevran, he meets Elissa Cousland, who survived Rendon Howe's massacre and was in exile in Orlais during the Blight, and eventually marries her. Happier ending all around. Just as Zevran stays with my Warden Queen even though there's no royal scandal, so that at least he has a place in the world and is a valuable member of the court (training the guard, looking out for assassins etc.) rather than drifting.
How Zevran deals with her being a mage, that's something I find interesting to contemplate. You can tell Bann Teagan that it would take a brave man to be married to a mage. Even more brave to be married to a blood mage. Zevran certainly is that, though he also makes "turn into a frog" comments about mages. The fact that he will plead for the Circle, however, is a clue that he empathizes with the gilded cage and with not being able to determine your own destiny.
