And for the second, well, from a quick glance, that looks like a good stance for an overhead swing? Maybe?

Xander swings the sword with the curved edge pointing downwards even with the overhead swing

Well that's just silly. Image IPB

I know I hope when they release the awakening mod tools some one will fix it... I mean its a nice looking sword but the way he holds it....
(its stupidly powerful as well even ignoring the 4 paragon elemental runes I put in it)

Yeah, it's a tough job, but I love it. I don't get many rapists, only those who recently were released from prison and are obligated by law to get counseling. So far I had no repeat offenders, I don't know what I would do with an antisocial. Probably refer to a psychiatrist, they can dope them up properly. I usually get the victims, the drug-addicts, and normal people who can't cope with a life event and need help. Perhaps that's what draws me to Zevran. It's so very, very wonderful to find out that seemingly broken people can still be mended in some fashion.

Ohh, Addai, that's a beautiful story, and it ties in so neatly with Howe and the Couslands. I never even thought of that, but my angry mage was definitely torn away from her family by force.

*pops back in*

ejoslin, early reports from LJ-land about the new mod are of squee! ;)

I dropped some links to our little abode here, too, perhaps we'll have some new faces around :3

That's because the entire mod is squee-worthy :) I'm not even telling anyone how often I hit F9. No, never. And you can't make me.

Thank you.  Image IPB  It's all tied to game events and dialogue.  You can tell the Mad Hermit you're from Highever (can't tell Leliana that, but I skirt around those responses) and you can tell Morrigan you love your mother.  Can I tell you how torn up my mage was about Isolde and Connor?  She still sacrificed Isolde, but the injustice of it all made her so furious at the world.  It all happened because Connor could not remain with his family if it were known he was a mage, and his mother couldn't let him go.  If her own mother had been a noblewoman instead of an elven servant, my PC could imagine that she might have been in a similar place.   Then it also hurt her so much when Alistair accused her of being callous to it all, especially since at the time she was falling in love with him (almost as big a Captain Clueless moment as him forgetting about the HN's family being murdered).  But how do you explain all this to a former templar?

I also just have to write Alistair a happy ending on my Zevran characters.  Via that trip to Highever with my PC and Zevran, he meets Elissa Cousland, who survived Rendon Howe's massacre and was in exile in Orlais during the Blight, and eventually marries her.  Happier ending all around.  Just as Zevran stays with my Warden Queen even though there's no royal scandal, so that at least he has a place in the world and is a valuable member of the court (training the guard, looking out for assassins etc.) rather than drifting.

How Zevran deals with her being a mage, that's something I find interesting to contemplate.  You can tell Bann Teagan that it would take a brave man to be married to a mage.  Even more brave to be married to a blood mage.  Zevran certainly is that, though he also makes "turn into a frog" comments about mages.  The fact that he will plead for the Circle, however, is a clue that he empathizes with the gilded cage and with not being able to determine your own destiny.

also WHY is Xander holding the sword upside down? I think the curved edge should be pointing upwards not downwards -_-

I think the sword is a Sakabato also known as a reverse-edged sword. The weapon is perfect for pacifists. It is not made for killing but is more useful for breaking bones and that sort of nasty stuff.

Haven't been around my computer long enough to try the mod out, but I watched the YouTube video.  The line where he says he'd follow you anywhere makes me feel all mushy.   Some of those lines really need a kiss, though.  I hope we can sort that out.

I hope so too. They're all supposed to lead to a kiss. But I can't do it. I fought it with it a little today, but it's beyond me. He walks away, and that needs to be replaced, but... I feel like a monkey pounding on the keyboard!

@jenovan Yay, thanks!  *squee* I just love it.

@sabriana you're TESTING!  It needs lots and lots of testing!

Got the City Gates mod.... Thanks ever so much. The, "Yes. Yes, I know." ended up being my favorite. Sometimes, words unsaid are just as loud as ones fully voiced.

It's all pure goo and goodness.  I can't believe this almost escaped us!!!!1!!!  Honestly, even if the kiss never gets restored, it's golden as it is.

Thank you so, so much to ejoslin and to the uber-modders who helped you out with the toolset.

I think we need the screenshot again!

I agree!  This is the one where I almost think it is better without a kiss.  I know I know, that's like blasphemy.  But still, when he walks away it is because he's too moved to speak.  If he switched immediately into suave mode and kissed your PC, it might ruin the moment.

I am open to changing my mind about that, of course.  Image IPB

Addai67, may I use that screenshot? I need a picture for my DANexus and that one is perfect!

Edit: And you know, I don't have a favorite. They are all SO squee.  I love hearing him say, "that's why I adore you so."  But the love in his voice when he says, "Wherever you go, I will gladly follow."  Then again, when he says, "Yes, yes, I know," he is SO vulnerable.  And of course, the love version of dark city -- you know he would!

*sigh* I've been having to test a LOT trying to get the kisses in.  I end up with weirdness, but at least it's all squee until the weirdness!

I think it would depend on the kiss animation... if it's Zevran being smug and suave (hot as that is), then yes, it might be a weeee bit out of place.  If it was something more tender, then... Image IPB

Sure.  Do you need me to email it to you?  I know you can't swipe them from the forum (I tried it with one of Sresla's beautiful shots Image IPB).  Maybe you can download it from Photobucket?  Here's the link if need be.

except the sword is a flaming great sword even if it did just break bones(and it does have an edge on both sides) it would still set people on fire

plus it still looks retarded the wya its held

ejoslin, for your file, extract into an override folder? If there is no override folder, should I just create a new one?

A little gun-shy since I'm just getting the game reinstalled and updated.

EDIT: I apologize in advance for being doltish with this sort of stuff, but....it's a *.rar file. How do I extract/open this file? Or do you just copy it directly into the override file and not have to do anything to it?

That's it.  dragon age origins/packages/core/override .  It does nothing ugly at all.  To uninstall it, just delete the files.

I'm much more of a dolt, so if I can do it, anyone can.

I download and open it using WinRAR software.  That is, open the folder and then drag the pertinent files over to the override folder.

Now, someone who actually has a clue can chime in and tell us if that's right or if there's an easier way.  All I know is that it works.  Image IPB

I love that armor-but I can't get it to work when I use the HN classes. All other classes generate the armor. EXCEPT the human noble. It's odd, and sad.

Aw, that's too bad.  My HNF wears it these days.  I was glad it imported to Awakening.

well the funny thing was I created characters en mass. I created a DN, DC, CE, DE, HNF and HNM

all got the armor, except the two HN...it was odd :( I wish there was a way to just..put the armor in the game.

If you have a new enough version of WinZip, it should open the .rar's, too :)  But yes, you need to extract it with something or other into the override folder for it to work. ^^
