Ugh, no wonder! I had to download a winrar program to open the *.rar file. My laptop didn't have a program on it to do it already.

And my game is STILL installing the 1.03 DA:O game patch....it's been over an hour now.

I shall never mess with toolset again. I've been working on deleting all the old game files, reinstalling the game, downloading all my DLC dazips, patches, and mods since about 6:30 this morning.

EDIT: Oh well, this gives me an excuse to fire uo DA:O on the PS3 and try running my first character through Awakenings to see if I like it enough to buy it for the PC.

And THANKS bunches for the help . Looking forward to getting the game reinstalled and updated so I can try running through your mod ejoslin

Question for the Group,



I uploaded my character and she's at the gates, I hate the stupid approval bar on the PS3. Zevran is 100% something (I'm assuming friend), and leaving him at the gates I get this:

Zevran: Heading off to slay dragons without me, hmm?

Zevran: Fine, fine, say hello to the Archdemon for me. He never writes anymore, it's rather distressing.

Zevran: And...do watch your back. No getting eaten. Unless you think it's really important, of course.



What level is that dialogue triggered at?

That's warm.  Though because the dialog is bugged, you get it at friendly as well.  Definitely not romance dialog.

Okay, before doing the DLC and mods and the 1.03 patch I tried opening the game once it finished installing and it worked JUST FINE!



Now after that stupid 1.03 patch I get a "AWC.dll Can't open game. Misconfiguration error. Try reinstalling your game."



I'm ready to cry.

funny thing about the 1.03 patch...I havnt gotten hit with any of the bugs that seem to go with it (such as the stealing bug)

I'm sorry!  I found a thread about this error but I don't know if it will help.  Looks like there's not one clear cause.

I'm trying re-running the 1.03 patch to see if that does anything. But I am a sad sad puppy right now. And it's updating at like 4x the speed as when I first did it. And there, it's done....let's see if the game opens.

Edit: Nope.....argh argh argh. *sobs*

thanks for the link Creature. Unfortunately, those fixes didn't work for me.



I'm deleting everything and reinstalling (again). And will install the 1.02b patch, since I didn't have any issues with that, and see if the game runs. then archive, and do the 1.03 patch to verify if that's the issue I'm having.

Not completely wasted. If you get it going, and have a save by the gates, I'd say... not wasted at ALL! Just delayed gratification.

@Ejoslin - When I said "Dont hold your breath" I ment for Bioware to fix it, I'd never be mean to St.Ejoslin like that.

What made you reinstall DA:O is the fist place? (I saw mention of the toolset, did you use and your game broke?)

Make sure your graphic's and sound drivers are up to date.

Where diid you get 1.03 patch from? the main Bioware site?

Thats all I can think at the moment. (I'm going to be gone 30-45 minute while I walk  my dogs, but hopeful I can help when I get back.)

Awwww, no worries MorGothic. I didn't take your comment that way at all. I wish I could figure out how to get those kisses in there, though. I'm greedy that way! I see this absolutely beautiful dialog and I just think, "I want more more MORE!"

Urgh gotta check what version of DT I have before I download this. But My AW is at the Alienage quest so the weekend is MINE!

I downloaded the toolset and tried messing around in there (but it didn't let me do any saves or anything, and I wasn't able to actually modify any thing) And then I decided to open the game and play and got the error. Couldn't figure out a fix (even tried the patch), so I decided to delete everything, reinstall and try again.



Thanks, I should know before I go to bed tonight if I can play or not!



So today I get everything reinstalled, some of the DLC says I need an updated version, so I installed the 1.03 patch instead of 1.02. Got the error after the 1.03 patch where I didn't after the game was first installed.. Got the patch from the main site.



Had to update drivers when I first got the game....I was playing with a red haze over the screen until I went *duh* video driver update! And then things were working so well until the toolset fiasco yesterday.

You should get both the bow and a codex entry for it.

hmm thats strange...

Do you still have the toolset installed? Just to be sure it's not some problem with that go Tools>Export>Clear Directories.

I would also try updating to 1.02b then trying the game. If that works then redownload the 1.03 patch and try again.

I will have a hunt around the net to see if I can find anything.

Well, it just figures.

I went and deleted all my old Cousland saves for my warrior, back to the confrontation with Taliesin and now someone comes up with this mod for Origins. I don't suppose anyone has an old save with crappy choices that they could try this out on and see if it works on the Awakenings import, since I no longer have one I can use? Would be nice to know if we can change our "royal scandal/Zevran love" choice at will.
