What's the (Romantic) Appeal of Zevran?

Sadly, for the character I imported, I got 'Zevran, however, elected to remain at the side of his love - at least for a time'. That was the worst because it sounds as if he leaves. But it did fit well into Awakening, and meant that the Awakening epilogue was actually better.
I just need an Antivan expansion now to resolve it completely.

Yeah, the troll started his own thread, and people actually took him seriously. That must've tickled him pink (pun absolutely intended) Surprisingly (not) he started slinging mud at our thread. I had to laugh at Sylvanaerie stating that the whole Zevran thread is composed of the same 10 people who keep on posting. I don't mind, it gave me a good laugh, and I think she is nice, but a bit uninformed.
Sannox, I shall join you in the demand for an Antivan expansion. All Zevran, all the time, ftw.

Hahaha, I guess I have to hunt that down. I just can't understand why our trolls leave. He made more posts than most.
I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Me too. Though, actually, I heard "Wherever you go, I will gladly follow" so many times yesterday (all with mangling at the end). *sigh* I can't mod properly, unfortunately, because I have the strangest problem with my toolset front end. The "plots and scripting" tab cuts off, no way to scroll down, to way to increase the size, and no way to unlock it. It makes me sad, but I had such trouble installing it to begin with, I don't want to attempt to uninstall it and reinstall!
When I try to add the kiss, what I get is the warden in Zevran's position, kissing the air. I had thought the best solution would be to edit out Zevran walking away, then adding the kiss in, but unless I can get the kiss in properly, there's no point messing with the cutscene. Which I'd probably mangle as well!
I am so impressed with people who can actually DO this stuff!

The lines are so sweet, I know all of them by heart already, although I don't know why that would be
*ignores her worn-out looking F9 key, and the truth staring her in the face*
Sorry about the toolset, I am still trying to find stuff, and I'm not very successful. It takes a lot of time on my machine to open up things, and it hangs often when I scroll. I too had many problems getting it to work at all. That, and poor Jaulen's problems make me extremely reluctant to tempt the fates.
Either way, I for one am very grateful for your work. That mod rocks. I forgot that I needed to disable the Alistair fix, but I never had a problem. I guess it will be problematic if Alistair is too high in approval? My only save is with my warrior # 1, and she chose Loghain, so Alistair wasn't even present.

Woah. Back the boat up, Ejoslin. You are awesome to not only have found the missing pieces, but coming up with a completely satisfying mod almost immediately. Yes, the kiss would have been nice, but I'm very happy with the dialogue alone.

Since you have it loading after the Alistair one, you lose all the changes the "Alistair" one makes. Having both won't make any game crashing bugs or anything -- it's just that only one will work.
Edit: And thank you so much for the kind words. I think I'm my harshest critic. I hate having things half done!

Don't laugh, but what I'm messing around with (with copies, of course) is trying to figure out how to make Zevran-blurbs override everyone else's. With my 'tech savvyness', it'll take about 10 years.
Okay. Fine. That was an exxageration. I admit it. It'll take about 15 years

It'll go on my agenda on the top-spot and I'll try it asap. I'm in and out at the moment. Now I know why Saturdays breathe by so quickly. I'm running myself ragged crunching everything that I had to put aside into one day.
Bad idea. Crunching is.... bad.
Edited because that's the law around here.

And so many signs seem to point to an Antivan expansion (seems too big a thing for a DLC, yes?). I don't know why these things would be put in place and just left to hang, but... who knows... I'll be over here hoping, though.

About Awakening, I liked it, I really did. The thing is.. I feel no urge to play it again (for now), origins is just more complete for some reason (and not only because of Zevran). Awakening was really easy with an imported character, I have created an Orlesian Warden, but the game isn't it.
About Origins, is it just me or are the Deep Roads really easy if you do the Orzammar part in the beginning of the game? The Broodmother was really weak, haven't done the Branka fight, but it has been very easy.
I have noticed one thing: Blood Wound rocks. I had no idea what a cool attack that was. xD

Antiva would really be nice, but the treatment of Zevran by the DLC/Awakening chapter leaves me a bit queasy. I don't want them messing with him, I rather have a brand new adventure, and leave Zevran and his warden happily training/recruiting/being Teyrna and consort.
Ramante, I read somewhere that the level of an area is set in stone as soon as the PC enters it. That would mean that if the PC enters the tower at level 6 and then leaves before starting the quest, the monsters/baddies would be locked in at level 6, even if the PC returns at level 10. Am I making sense? Probably not, it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
Shame about work. It's already 3:25 pm here and I'm not even half done with my errants. And the time changes tonight. What do you want to bet that I forget about that, and will be running late all day tomorrow.

But as for my ending, it sucked. I saved Vigils Keep and the entire region hated me for it. 3 of my team left (prob died I forgot to do the rest of Ogrens and 2 other companion quests)
I was sad lol.

Text: <desc>The elven assassin is wounded and unconscious, but alive. You could tie him up and talk to him, if you wished.</desc>
Scripting comment: "IF: Zevran is selected after being defeated in the second ambush (if we don't have the camp, this one is probably never going to show up)"
So they took the first one out of the game and just stayed with the second one I guess. And the two comments you may get about it being the second attempt were just oversights. I'm glad they had it at just one, though. Two attempts would be a bit difficult to accept.

Perhaps they realized that the whole of the NPC would be wasted on the majority of the players, and all the work on him be for naught.

It is challenging, but the Broodmother fight was a lot easier and I agree, it is more fun. Normally I was really 'annoyed' that I had to enter the Deep Roads, but this time it was quite fun.ejoslin wrote...
Morning Ramante! I found the deeproads more fun in the early game, more challenging. But mainly, it was nice to have it over with.
Besides that... Zevran looks very hot with the Spearthrower. :3
@Sabriana, don't start about the time change tonight. I have to work tomorrow morning, so I'll loose one hour to sleep. I'm so dead tomorrow morning, fortunately most of the people I work with are still sleeping when I come, and because the time is going back one hour they will all sleep when I get there.
So maybe working tomorrow will be very relaxed. *grin*

On a different note, I had a criticism about my faq, and she may have a point, so I wanted to ask everyone here -- are my first couple of points condescending? I tried to write it lightly, not insultingly, but I hate to think that I'm putting people off or coming across as rude. Does anyone have an opinion? If it needs changing, I have no problems at all with that!

Oh no, I love Ali! He was the first I romanced so he will always have a special place in my heart. Just now that I romanced Zevran, I prefer his over Ali's. Honest, there is no hate involved!

It makes me think of Yuffie in FF7, but it's just a bit more serious when it's Zevran. Yuffie was only 14, and cute, which makes a difference!

No. Seriously, how often do we have to read point one in these forums? If we had a dime for each one, we could have a Zevran-clan meeting, with pizza and beer.
Your FAQ is fine, and English isn't even my first language.
I agree Jenovan. It would have cheapened Zevran and the developing relationship with the warden. It's far more dramatic and touching that he practically jumps at the chance of freedom when he realizes that his suicide failed.
Blergh. I have to run into the city again. I forgot the coffee filters. Can't have that. Oh noes. Especially with losing an hour. Poor Ramante. I do hope it's relaxing. *makes note to cross fingers tomorrow morning*

Subsequently-I find him very high-maintenance to deal with though. Draining. Even though I still think the rose is the sweetest gesture in the game.
Once Riordan opens his mouth about making Loghain a warden though...the honeymoon is off. That playthrough ended very badly for my PC.
The gates mod looks super-except I have no Zev romances that far in.
And awww - I missed the quasi-troll. *tsk*
As for Awakening-I hit every game-break bug in it. I am NOT fond of that wasted 40.00...

Ok, poking around the toolset a bit more, there were originally two ambushes. Here's the scripting comment for just after you beat him in the ambush:
Text: The elven assassin is wounded and unconscious, but alive. You could tie him up and talk to him, if you wished.
Scripting comment: "IF: Zevran is selected after being defeated in the second ambush (if we don't have the camp, this one is probably never going to show up)"

Ahh, and I was wondering forEVER why the hell Alistair would claim we defeated Zev twice.
Thank you so much for finally clearing that up.
Oh, and for the mod, by the way. <3:)
