I think I'm done playing DAO for a while and instead it's time to pick up drawing again. I hope I'll have some fanarts to share very soon.

I'll be cheering you on. I'm not a talented visual artist creator, but I love viewing other peoples creations. I do draw lovely stick-figures though.

Zevran: I suspect Alistair, however, would not feel the same way. If there is to be something between you and I, to string him along would only hurt him deeply. Surely you know this is true. (uncomfortable)
Zevran: And what would you have me do, then? I am many things: A murderer, a thief, a lover... but I am no cheat. If whatever is between us cannot be honest, let it not be at all. (uncomfortable)
In the first one, he's assuming he's the main interest and that she is leading Alistair on, the second makes it sound like he would be the one on the side.
What I find most telling is he will force the choice even if you haven't slept with either one (as all the love interests will). This is not a sexual jealousy, but it is a jealousy of a different nature; he does not want to share the warden's affection. Does he say it's about the other person? Sure he does. Even when he finally realizes he's in love with the warden, he can't say so. He does adore the warden at that point. He won't let the warden to continue to treat it as if it's casual, whether casual sex or casual flirting. It's more now.
He doesn't put his feelings out there, probably because what he wants has never been a consideration for him. He takes things as they come and makes the best of whatever comes rather than hoping for something more just to be disappointed.

RE: companion jealousy, I agree with the idea that Zevran is emotionally invested once he hits "Adore". He may put the "rival" first, insisting that he's worried about their feelings, but I think there's definitely some element of his own jealousy there at that point, even if he doesn't realize it or want to acknowledge it.
On top of that, I have the feeling that he expects to be the second choice.
*rereads* I hope that makes sense, the coffee is still settling in. XD

Warden:I suppose you're right.
Zevran: Then only one path lies before us, no? (said with a sigh of resignation)
One path? He was completely expecting to be dumped.
As far as him calling himself a cheat -- he acknowledges both he and Alistair have feelings for the warden, and expects the warden to choose Alistair. That would make him the one on the side. But again, this is not sexual jealousy -- it's not necessary that they have had sex.
Edit: In the "only one path" dialog, the facial expression is "sad."

Oh lord, the first time I ever got those conversations, Zevran's expressions broke my heart. Poor guy always thinks that good things happen to other people, so he is doesn't expect to be given anything more then a taste.

He sure doesn't. It also casts a lot of what he says there in a different light. His making no claims on her, his saying it's all about the other person -- someone who is expecting to be dumped is permitted to walk away with some self respect. If it really were about Alistair, he wouldn't be willing to have sex with the warden even with Alistair at 100 love (as long as he's 70 care or below). If he really made no claims on her, he wouldn't force her to make a choice. So why would he force the choice if he expected to be dumped? The only thing that makes sense is he can't stand seeing her in a relationship with Alistair when he also cares deeply. Which means, well, some level of jealousy.
Edit: afternoon CZ.

I went to Haven picked up the small silver bar and Zev's boots.. his approval is 70. I want that massage talk, but I have nothing to talk about and have no more specific gifts... Now I think about it, I think I'll give him Wynne's stuff. Never mind me, problem solved.
I was wondering, ejoslin you get VO comments by the party banters? I had one with Shale and Zevran, in which Zevran says that the Warden is a person whorty of adoration or something like that. I was wondering if that is completly 'amused' or that he really believes it. For some reason I think he actually means it, but it might be he is just messing with Shale.
It is the banter which starts with Shale wondering why the Warden didn't crush Zevran after he tried to kill her.

Unfortunately, that particular conversation doesn't have VO comments (though a lot do). Of course, in order to get the warden comment, you can't have Alistair, Morrigan, Wynne, or Leliana in your party. It goes in this order:
Morrigan
Look at the witch. Dark hair, heaving chest, quivering lips. How could one kill such a creature without bedding it, first?
Leliana
Take the innocent sister, for example. Certainly even you can see the naughty woman waiting to escape from that Chantry frock?
Alistair
Here, take that templar fellow. Rugged good looks, quick wit, manly shoulders. Just getting him to hop borders is a challenge worthy of the great heroes.
Wynne
Take a peek at that Circle mage. Must we speak of the allure of an older woman? She has lessons to teach us all, my friend.
the Warden
Take a long look at our Grey Warden, my good friend. Right there we have an object worthy of worship, no?
Edit: Does he mean it about the Warden? It really would depend I would imagine. The rest, he's obviously teasing, but if he's in a romance with the Warden, why not have his answer be serious. But if they're just friends, he would be teasing him/her as well.
For instance, you know he doesn't think Leliana is innocent, and he doesn't think Alistair has a quick wit.

Hm. Anyone know of a way to 'force' the zev ambush to happen? I think I goofed with the Zevasap mod being enabled on a save post lothering. And now the event is not happening at all even when it normally would.
Do you know how to use the console? MorGothic explained how to force the encounter awhile back (eeep, I know, not helpful) using the console.

I do, it was in the ZevRomance FAQ, but it appears somebody removed it...<_<
First you need to enable the console.
Instructions are here
Make sure you have a full party.
open the console and type: runscript zz_ran_debug and press enter.
Now click Plot then Zevran and you will be taken to the ambush.
(Is bad I didn't have to check any of that?)
*Edit*
Does anyone know where in the toolset I find the City Gate Companion cutscenes?

Load a Saved game.
Make a new save (this is the one you will use for the console command).
Go to a point on the world map.
Bring up the console ( http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Console)
Type: runscript zz_ran_debug
Press Enter
This brings up the Random Events Debugger.
Select Plot.
Select Zevran
Appear at Start of Encounter.
Do not do this from camp, or you will end up in the encounter alone. Do this from a point on the World Map.
If later in the game you end up in the area of the encounter again, with no exit out:
Type: runscript zz_jump-around
This ports you to the exit point.
I hope this was clear enough to understand. Any questions, just let me know.

It would make a lot of sense (to me) if such a sweet scene would take place for a Dalish Elf after the Shriek/Tamlen encounter in camp. It would make less sense for other origins, but it might be a good point in the game to do it. Some sort of reassuring signal from Zevran that everything is allright even after the camp just got attacked. o.o'
No idea about other origins, but this seemed fitting for a Dalish Elf...
Edit: because I can.
