What's the (Romantic) Appeal of Zevran?

Of course, I do have a mod that makes the merchants a bit more reasonable. It's not game-breaking, and doesn't feel like cheating to me. Getting 25% value is more like the PC gets constantly taken for a sucker-ride, and not real haggling.

if you play your cards right you can get Leliena to accept Zevrans proposal and if hes in a romance with you he turns it down

Zevran is just a cheeky little boy in need of discipline, or a good woman, or both. :-)

This playthrough I want to get the "her or me" dialogue from Zev, so I have both he and Leliana up to about 53+, both at 'care'. Is there one I need to bump higher first in order to get the speech? sleep with both of them? can anyone throw me a quick pointer? thanks!
Oh, and I am going to refuse the ring the first time (unless it "means something") can I then initiate conversation at camp after that and get it offered again? On my second playthrough I tried this, never got the ring offer again, although I was at "love" so missed the whole commitment chat

And yes, turn it down. And ask him to your tent. A warning, though, not all dialogs when he declares his feelings will lead to him offering it the second time -- the "nicest" one will not, nor will the bad one.

I usually give him some strength too, and I must say, that of all the companions, he dies the least. He is very good with sword and dagger. I love watching him.
He's so much fun to watch! I'll frequently have paused to arrange something in battle, and he'll be in the midst of some "ridiculously awesome" or amazingly graceful pose that I've just got to screenshot.
Hmm, just saw the pricetag on the Rose's Thorn last night!

But I do almost the same thing, Ejoslin,,except getting th Felon's coat, I go for the one in Orzammar (Shadow..something). Simply because in my game, Wade's Emporium does not carry the Felon's coat - ever.
I feel bad about the, (well most of them) bar-tender quests. Some really leave a bad taste in my mouth. Heck, I prefer the Crow's quests to them in the most part. At least most of the Crow's quests are related to the main quest. I just wish I could drop-kick Ignacio for calling Zevran a wh***son, and Zevran just takes it, without much emotion visible.
It gives me an inkling about the treatment the poor guy had to suffer starting at age 7.

Ok, I've done City Elf before, and in the Alienage, of course when Zevran hears about the wedding he's upset, and Alistair no matter what says, "You never told me you were betrothed" if either Zevran (or Leliana) are romanced and in your party, OR if Alistair is your romance.
HOWEVER, this time my Warden HAD told Alistair at Flemeth's hut, when he was going on about Duncan, that she could understand because her fiance had just been killed. I was really hoping that would lead to a different dialog since she had told him. I guess his grief was too great at that time for him to remember but still . . . That's one piece of information I can't imagine forgetting no matter what the circumstance.
Well, so much for romancing Alistair at all my next play through. That's just TOO self absorbed! *grin*

What do you mean by using your mage for "control"? I think I know what you mean, but wondering what you do specifically.ejoslin wrote...
I don't buy much in the game, which may be why I don't find money an issue at all (I do not mod it). I buy the resist ring in Denerim, the Felon coat, the belt from the mage tower, and the rose thorn. Oh, and far song if my warden is an archer (I hate what you have to do to get it, but it is so good). I do do some shady things, I suppose. I always let the demon live in asunder, I not only deliver the lyrium, but I shake down Godwin, and I sell everything, even good stuff, if it is not equipped. Only gifts sit in my storage chest. Since I use control instead of healing for the most part, even potions are not a big expense. My biggest expense is poisons, but I generally only use them for either boss battles or huge fights (warrior goes in with stunning poisons on her blades). Traps are nice, but once I get to a certain level, I find it's easier NOT to use them since my mage, again, is able to keep things locked down.
I'm always pretty poor in my games, not sure why. I never even look at those items you mention. Somehow I muddle through!

Hmmm, my current game I have close to 200 gold so I may buy something else, not sure yet. My characters are all 19 or 20, and I haven't done any cheats or exploits. I play on hard, though I sometimes notch it down to normal (or even easy if I'm wanting to rush through something like the fade). By control I mean sleep, paralyze, blizzard, the blood mage one, the third one (ugh, what is that called again?) which is basically group crushing prison, and of course crushing prison. I also use stunning poisons and cold bombs. Anything to slow or stop attacks. Weapons have paralyzing runes and/or slow runes in the primary, resists in the secondary.
