So I suppose he bowled me over very early on, as this all happened very quickly after meeting him. I do plan to play through the Alistair romance at some point, but I seem to be leaving the human female (my avatar here) that I planned to do it with in Ostagar, while I make new characters to romance Zevran all over again.
I romanced Alistair once on my xbox, but of course if you don't make him king and are in a romance with him, his dialogue is completely screwed up after the landsmeet (he thinks he's king...d'oh!). That play through was a human noble that didn't want any responsibility, she just wanted to stab things with her sword... she was very controlling, though, and preferred Al (who's a complete tool) to Zevran (who actually has a mind of his own).
It was really cool doing a Zevran-as-a-friend-playthrough (unfortunately for Al, Zev was still the highlight for me), but I was annoyed at how buggy the end of that run was. I ended up just reloading and making Al king (and my Warden queen) since he went on and on about it anyway (immersion breaking!).
I only romanced Al once on my PC version.... to check out his BSC. F5/F9! lol.
Never going to romance him again, probably. He bored me. I'd never date a virgin IRL... so, sorry Al. lol (am I a bad person? nah...)
Anyway, I love that you have a different view on a lot of the Zevran romance, Sannox. Makes for good conversation! And it gives me a new perspective, which I appreciate.
I love reading other people's views. It's certainly interesting that we don't all have the same view. I love the conversations here.
No, you're not a bad person. I have dated virgins. It's not something I'd choose to do, but I wouldn't reject somebody on those grounds. Although, by a certain age, I suppose it starts to become a bit creepy, unless they've been in prison or otherwise unable to lose it. Mine were young, but they weren't nearly as hard work as Alistair. Or any work at all - they were
grateful, if anything. I can't imagine being in a relationship with somebody who refused sex at the beginning. It would be a deal-breaker for me. Or at least, they would need a good reason - if it was due to traumatic experiences, sexual abuse, etc., then I'd have sympathy, of course. If it's just that they disapprove, then it would seem that our attitudes are too different for us to be compatible.
ETA: If I became single again now, then I can't see me dating a virgin at this point in my life, so I'm with you on that. I don't care how many lovers somebody has had, but I would prefer it was more than none. But the main thing is their attitude to sex, and to me. I've found from experience that sexual compatibility is very, very important, more than people admit.
It sounds like the Al romance might not be worth seeing through, especially if the dialogue is bugged at the end. (I imagine, if my character loved him, I'd be less likely to want to make him king and more likely to want to just run off with him - but it looks like I couldn't play it that way). I thought he was sweet at 'love' but couldn't compare to Zevran's utter devotion.
