Ah, probably that's it. I play on Easy and I doubt I've had 200 gold ever. I don't like the combat much, actually. Here and there a little scrap is ok, but the big grinding battles I could do without and I just want to get through them to get to the good parts. Hence I really don't like the Deep Roads or the lead-up to the final battle. You do wonder why I play this game, LOL.

OMG! Hahaha, my game got bugged and now Alistair just dumped my city elf. Who dumped him ages ago for Zevran. So not only did he forget about my warden telling him about her finace dying, he forgot about the dumping as well!

this game completely cracks me up at times.

Edit: heh, I went instead and convince him to keep her as his mistress.  Even though he's still at 100 friendly.  I guess she's THAT good!

Second edit: I wonder if this bug is actually related to the fact that he was previously romanced and I allowed him to kill Loghain (therefore messing up Anora's plans).  I found it incredibly funny from a RP point of view as she had just written Alistair off completely as another thoughtless shem, but then he apparently developed feelings that he just felt HAD to be returned despite her falling in love with and being engaged to someone else at that point.

He does sound pretty sad during the whole thing, but not as torn up as I would have hoped.  It's been a while since I've heard that speech -- and I was completely devastated.  It's nice to hear it and find it funny.  Takes some of the sting out of that first playthrough.

I must say, I really was disappointed that Alistair had forgotten -- I wonder why you were given the choice, a bit buried as it was, to tell him if he was just going to forget it. Unless, of course, that is the point.

So, I read all your guys's responses, and then went through and replayed all of the Zevran dialogue trees, and...

Yeah. he... grew on me. A little.

Okay, Maybe a lot. And now I see that I really misjudged him.

and, heh, yeah I knew that the epilogue was a bug. I was just trying to share my amusement when I first read it, because the first thought in my head was "huh, guess I couldn't change him after all."

You're forgiven.    Many of us misjudged him at first.  You're welcome to join in with the *squee*.  I'm sorry more guys don't!  I love hearing about the male/male romance.  It sounds very close to the male/female, but with important differences as well.

Gah, I really need to drag my mage's little butt through the Deep Roads so I can get on with Zevran's romance. I just loathe the Deep Roads...I have two characters stopped right at the same point and started another because I dislike them so.

You and me both, sister.  But I consoled myself by bringing Zevran with me everywhere.  It was fun to see him and my PC rogue tag-teaming, and there are a few plot moments with him in that setting.

NOOOOOO my current Human noble saved data got corrupted now I have to restart and run straight to redcliff so I can get Zevran early :sobs: I really wish there was a mod that lets the zevran encounter happen right out of lothering



oh well atleast I get to see have a saved data solely for checking out the different dialogue trees you can have with him also damn his Wiley antivan charms I wanted to kill the dalish but when he piped up about how he would like you to reconsider I couldn't go through with it even if I hated the bloody lot of them

You weren't supposed to AGREE with Oghren.....I'm a NICE person....I DIDN"T WANT to kill Ruck.....really I didn't. Now my deep mushroom supplier is dead!!!! Which means we'll have to take Wynne with us now.

Last night Zevran first told me about his true reason to accept the assassination contract on the warden. I played this game though several times now, but this was new to me, and so.. touching. I really felt it. He is definitely a good friend and he has a lot more to say at some occasions than others.

If Oghren isn't in the party, it's all Zevran's idea, but . . . I end up having to agree with him.  I hate doing it, but it actually works better if it's just Zevran explaining why it has to be done.

It's the first time in my playthroughs with Zevran in the party that we've had to kill the poor little blighted dwarf.

But I haven't had Zevran AND Oghren in the party before.

I never have Oghren with me.  However, you have to select "I should go," to trigger it. Just trading with him doesn't trigger it.

Ugh... I'm still on my very first playthrough, and I saved the Deep Roads til last...  I'm massively disliking it, but I must get through it to go find Taliesen!  ....and finish the game and all, but uh...

This was horrible for me, too.  I already said it upthread but I can imagine a pretty heart-rending discussion back at camp about how the PC has the taint in her, too, and how she felt a kinship with Ruck.  This is something I wonder about the romances with everyone but Alistair- what is it like for the partner to be with a Grey Warden? Obviously there is the whole childbirth thing, but there are also the nightmares and other physical changes, and the fact that certain sensitive people (Ruck being one of them) call the PC an abomination or say that there is "something about them."  Not to mention the fact that darkspawn are drawn to you.  Not that this would bother Zevran, especially since Antivan Crows are- ahem- drawn to him.  Quiet domestic scene at Zevran and the PC's house...

Zev:  Cara, there are darkspawn (/assassins) at the door.
PC: Oh?  Shall I go this time, or you?
Zev:  Hm, I can go....
PC:  No, you stay and finish that deadly trap we're working on for the backyard.  And stir the sauce, will you?  I'll be right back.
Zev:  Alright, my love.  Have fun.

Well I hope you're not just saying that because I interjected. I'm fully aware that not every character I write is going to be liked by everyone -- especially the romances, which are so subject to personal taste. But if you were persuaded to look at Zevran again with an open mind and enjoyed him, then I'm glad. It's not every day I see someone actually change their mind on the internet.

ok so I have a question...why does Zevran disapprove of giving Cailen a proper send off? I mean really its not like he says anything during the entire quest and suddenly I burn cailens corpse and I get a -3 for it for no reason

I was rather shocked by that myself. He's totally not going in any future playthroughs. <_<

I kind of need him to tag along because I need a lock picker and ...Leliena is just...no I still cant bring myself to finish the playthroughs where I romance her which should tell you how much I have her in my party

I get that royalty isn't all that highly thought of in Antiva and the Crows are often hired to eliminate the competition, but it's a different situation in Ferelden and I would have thought he'd understand what it meant to my PC to be able to give her King a last moment of respect.

really what where people thinking when they came up with the approval system? (see Wynn gaining approval for sleeping with a virgin elven girl while losing approval for sleeping with her would be boyfriend)
