And I think that's why they made it Awakening DLC--they want to entice people into buying Awakening, and a good way to do that is through DLCs with the Origins romances.

I'd pay entirely too much for a Zevran DLC.  And then curse the writers and write all sorts of walls of text in displeasure if they made him shallow!

That is EXACTLY it.  If you're decent to him, his approval goes way up, so quickly. If you romance him, he falls hard and quickly.  I deliberately space out conversations, don't go to the tent with him, take middle of the road answers.  That way, at least, there's some feeling of it taking SOME time.

Edit: I think these two lines point to a very confused elf who has no clue what is going on with him!

I take this differently. To my mind, Zev doesn't care whether the relationship is in the open or not, what he wants is to be able to trust the Warden. He realises that he has feelings of some sort, they scare him, and he's not sure what to do about them. He knows that Alistair has feelings for the Warden. What he doesn't know is whether the Warden reciprocates those feelings or if (s)he has come to care for him or will, at least, give the relationship some time.
So, I don't read this, "be honest" as him wanting the relationship out in the open. I see it as him asking the Warden to be honest about his/her feelings. 

Ooooh, I like this.  In fact, you convinced me.  It does make more sense.  What is interesting, though, is that Zevran fully expects the warden to pick Alistair.  So yes, I agree with you here.  I never looked at it that way.

Second edit: You know, according to the toolset, Zevran is supposed to kiss the warden after he declares his feelings.  I wonder why they left all of this stuff out?  Probably because it would make his romance TOO good...  Thank goodness for Charsen!

Third edit: Since no one else is typing.  I wouldn't be surprised if the DLC takes place in Antiva.  There was so much about the Crows and such in Awakening.  Ah well, we shall see.  I refuse to get excited.  I got excited over Awakening watching that stupid interview that said, "The romances will absolutely be acknowledged." Heh, yeh, my ass.

The little caress gesture is wonderful (I always figured they liked that sort of thing, too XD), both in how you managed to animate it, and in the emotion it brings across.  

Heh, I think it was Tellervo who talked about the kiss-avoidance? XD  I actually don't mind it, I imagined that they were saying some few words to each other instead.  Liplock or not, it's a really intense and passionate moment.

My problem was that, even though they don't actually kiss in the earlier HM, there's that moment of very close contact... that nearness is missing in the EM video I saw.  It was a sweet gesture that implied a lot.

I think Zevran expecting the Warden to choose Alistair is key. It sounds as though he expects to be brushed aside again as always, and would rather that be earlier on than later. I don't think it's too soon for him to put it out in the open at all. He needs a hint about what the Warden is feeling to know if what he's feeling is completely out of line.
So yes, I agree.

YES!  Even though Zevran tries to maintain that it's casual, just nothing about the relationship strikes me as such. When you adore someone, that involves deep feelings no matter what.

Is there a video of the HM kiss anywhere, anybody?  Bueller?  Or I guess this is a simple question to answer -- is there a long drawn out sad bit at the end like the EM kiss?  While looking at my screenshots again () a little scenario played out in my head where, I thought someone upthread mentioned (now I can't find it), they were too overcome to actually kiss at that moment, and theeeen Zevran kinda regrets letting that (not) happen.

/should really get back to finishing this damn thing
