Oh, I haven't even selected that one yet.  Tonight, loading up a Taliesen save . . . I just figured it would be the same as the others.  Which are horrible.  Whoever did the writing must have gotten a bit of a perverse pleasure in writing the Zevran breakup scenes.  They are so much . . .  more . . . than any of the others.

yep. but i liked that one especially. naturally, i reloaded, but it may be worth it, if you really could fix it later on.

I upgraded to the newer version last night (Medium.. I suppose the old one was Mild). I admit I felt kinda dirty.

Something interesting I just found out recently. In my male elf playthrough romancing Zevran, Zevran topped during their sex scene. My friend told me that if you play a human male romancing him, then you top. I don't know if the scenes are the same or not (haven't played a male human romancing him), but I thought that was a very interesting detail for them to add, switching it up.

Zevrans sex scene is different depending on what race you are

both dwarves and humans top Zevran but their scenes are slightly different from one eachother and are bothq uite different from the male elf scene (which is as you said zevran tops you)

I would have liked an option to decided even that. I mean, during the dialogue before the sex scene, there are two options, one more aggressive (I'm sure I'll think of something, more or less) and one more submissive (I'll leave it up to you, more or less), and it would have been nice if choosing one of them modified the sexual role of the two partners...

So, let's say I was thinking about writing a fic based on that story about my city elf playthrough concerning her and  Zevran pining for each other (maker help me, it won't let go). First off, where would I post it? Here? Somewhere else? Secondly, if it does end up containing smut (it very well may) I wouldn't be able to post it anywhere on here, so where do I go in that case? I've been writing fanfic prolifically for years, but never in this fandom.

Fanfiction.net, apparently you can post about anything there as long as you rate it M. A lot of people are putting a thread in the Community Creations forum linking to their stories at other sites. Slap a NSFW tag on it and it should be fine.

Really? fanfiction.net is where I posted way back in the day when in X-Men comics and Buffy fandoms. I haven't posted there in years, since they outlawed NC-17 material. You mean to say they're letting people post smut there again?

I think it's more that they don't go looking to see if stories exceed an M rating? If you rated it teen and put explicit stuff it would probably get reported but if it's rated M I don't think there's much enforcement.



There's also adultfanfiction.net, where anything goes, but that's mostly PWP so your fic might be out of place.

so the no XXX ruling must not be that well enforced atleast on some of the lesser popular areas

I couldn't find the second kiss in the Taliesen encounter, but there's only so many of those breakups I can take at one time! He is so sweet and so heartbroken.  But one of them ends up with no approval loss -- I wonder if it really is an "until later."  Whatever, I feel horrible right now!  I think I need to do some Alistair breakups now so I can be annoyed instead of feeling like the worlds biggest heel.

What amazing voice acting.

Ahh, that's a good thought, I was wondering how you could subtly determine this.  I suppose once decided, though, that might not let you switch!

actually, it's not that bad. i was just curiously clicking around, but actually picked that line in one playthrough where i wasn't so sure about me being successful. just didn't want him around for the bloody end, hence i never knew how much it'll hurt him.

I'll have to replay it again -- it's possible I mistook it.  I'll do it again, um, soon.  But when he's asking if you really think the crows would believe you . . .  it certainly seemed that way to me.  But I WAS cringing at that dialog.  Hahahaha, at least there are TWO ways to get a public kiss from Zevran in the vanilla game.  I'm not sure which is worse!  

It may play out less harsh with a male character as well.  

Edit: Yes, I'm also embarrassed at how much time I spend not only playing this game, but analyzing it!  *grin*

it is harsh. but the last response may show such different emotions however you put it, it doesn't have to be mean at all. more helpless, at least with my warden it was....

And i wonder, actually, if you two did meet again, if he may thank you for giving him his freedom, completely.  He was so upset, obviously, when you tell him you will tell the crows if you have to, but you may be right, it's the way to get him to really start to live on his own.  Because, though he does seem so sad before the goodbye kiss, he isn't angry at that point.  I do think it would play better with a male warden though.

Ugh, this is one I won't explore too deeply. 

Edit: And I think about how he asks to go unless he's being romanced.  He is happy to stay if you ask him to as a friend, but this is his last chance for real freedom.  Of course if he falls in love, or is falling in love, he wants to stay.  I don't think his life would be better if he goes, but he does have that chance there.   By asking him to stay, you are taking that away from him.  

Hmmm, I'll have to think about this one.  It's heartbreaking, but you do have to wonder if they'll meet again.  It seems that they may.

Second edit: I'm also thinking about how at least one of those breakups, there's no approval loss.  Just one, though.  If you don't let him go, he's just moving from one indenture to another.  You can always let him go at the end, though, as well.  I wonder if he ends up with regrets, if you ask him to stay when he wants to go. 

*sigh* definitely a different take on the character for me.  It's a bit deeper than all the squee.

I got him pretty early in the game, and currently he's ta 100 Adore, and Alistair is at 60 care.

(and I still have gifts to go around!) Just had Zev ask the PC back to the tent....*yeah!*



Continued on to next area. Had Zev, Ali, and Morigan in party. Clicked on Alistair, and took the "Let's talk private" option (Kiss Him). Zev said "Don't mind me" Alistair declined.....lost 3 approval with Zevran. Since I knew I wasn't going to save this...I kept doing the kissing option, and kept getting turned down, and kept losing approval with Zevran, 3 points at a time.....So...my question is this....



I went from 100 Adore with Zevran....and publicly flaunted some other guy in his face, and then all of a sudden, although disapproving, he goes to 88 love.....LOVE???



Please tell me that's a bug.....the poor boy can't be that machoistic. I haven't had the Talisien scene yet......

It's a glitch. I had him at 100 love too, and the only thing I cleared was the Tower, meaning we were nowhere near the Taliesin encounter yet.

I'm not sure how it happened precisely, but my PC did not flaunt anything in Zevran's face, nor was she mean and/or nasty to him. As a matter of fact, they hadn't even been 'tenting' yet.

Really? That has to be a bug... An interesting bug, but a bug nonetheless!
That can be a good method for when Zev gets out of hand in approval though. It's at the point where I find him at +100 almost instantly (yeah I can't resist sleeping with him straight from the get-go), which is really frustrating when trying to romance Alistair as well.

But hey, if he's already at love, it looks like there's no more going to the tent for you! You wouldn't want it to switch back to adore, now would you?
