Randomly geeking!
So, it's a good thing I can't spew out random fanart, or I'd be working on Zevran in a Western right around now. Why? Doc Holliday in Tombstone.
For those of you who haven't seen Tombstone but may want to, the full movie is
here, all thirteen parts are listed to the right.
Doc Holliday, played by Val Kilmer, is gradually dying of tuberculosis through-out the movie. He definitely seems to want to go out in a fight. He also reminds me pretty damn strongly of a certain Antivan assassin. Clips linked are all worksafe, so far as I can tell!
"And what an ugly thing to say. I abhor ugliness. Does this mean we're not friends anymore? You know Ed, if I thought you weren't my friend, I just don't think I could bear it.""I don't know, reminds me of... me. No, I'm sure of it! I hate him."
(...)
"Evidently mister Ringo is an educated man. Now I really hate him."
"Nonesense. I have not yet begun to defile myself."
"Maybe poker's just not your game... I know, let's have a spelling contest!"
"I'm your huckleberry~ that's
just my game."
"Fight's not with you, Holliday."
"I beg to differ, sir. We started a game we never got to finish. Played for blood, remember?"
"I was just foolin' about."
"...I wasn't."
The real reason for dual-wielding:
"And you, music lover. You're next.""Why, it's the drunk piano player. You're so drunk, you can't hit nothin'. In fact, you're probably seeing double."
"I have two guns... one for each of ya."
This scene reminded me of him the strongest:
"Doc... you ought to be in bed. What the hell are you doing this for, anyway?""Wyatt Earp is my friend."
"Hell, I got lots of friends."
"I don't."
Now half the time when I reach the Zevran ambush with a new character, and he steps forward but hasn't said anything yet, I have to drawl "
I'm your huckleberry~". XD
