I need opinions! I've been working on Alistair getting some wonderful input from an Ali-fan (she's awesome). ANYWAY, during Alistair's initial conversation in Ostegar, there are approval gains and losses, but you never actually get them because he's not recruited until the end of the conversation. It's an easy fix; however, you can get a lot of approval from this conversation (+5 or +6).
So, should I leave it as is with no approval in that conversation? Or should I put the approval in? Why or why not?
Well if your ment to gain approval I say put it in, simply due to the fact it looks like another coding mistake. <_<
Actually, I'd say the opposite. You never get approval from unrecruited NPCs, so it wouldn't make sense to here. Also Alistair gains approval very quickly as it is, and there is dialogue surrounding Redcliffe that you only get if you aren't at 'interested ' yet. You tend to get that dialogue if you do Redcliffe first, as suggested by Alistair in Lothering (and don't come right out and tell him he's handsome
A six point jump might make that impossible to get if you're playing a character whose actions are appealing to Alistair. You'd want to test it at least, to make sure that the change doesn't inflate approval making it difficult to get dialogue options that would be easily attainable without it, at Redcliffe and elsewhere.
Of course, you could put the approval in brackets, showing it but not counting it, just for amusement value.
