I should clarify because I don't think it was clear:  He talks about envying the Dalish wandering life when he asks you if you come from someplace comparable to Antiva City.  Have to tell him "my people don't have cities."

The VO notes on that one made me lol the first time I read them:

Zevran: I hail from the glorious Antiva City, home to the royal palace. It is a glittering gem amidst the sand, my Antiva City. Do you come from someplace comparable? (speaks fondly of his home -- when he asks, it is with the assumption that "someplace comparable" does not exist)
PC: My people have no cities.
Zevran: Ah, yes, of course. The wandering life of the Dalish! That truly is better, I'm jealous. (he's not actually jealous)

...But yes, I lol'd. Leave it to Zev to know the rules of the internet, he's probably a firm believer in rule 34 as well.

And Zev's patriotism for Antiva is adorable, really.

Yes, I love when he talks about Antiva.   My wardens always want to go there with him, because he's so homesick.  When I ask for a boon at the end, I imagine asking for gold to pay off the relevant people there, so he can go back and live it up for a while.  I know it's based on Venice, and sometimes I imagine it as there.  But as he talks about it being in the desert, I sometimes I imagine something more like this in looks, or something in between. I love that he is able to find the good in things.  He doesn't hate the place because of how he has been treated there, but loves what he enjoyed there.  I love that he sees the joy in life so easiy.   Everybody else seems to be moping about by the campfire, but he's the most cheerful, and has just as much reason not to be (if not more).  

(More pictures of Jaisalmer in the photo gallery for this article.  I imagine somewhere with that sort of golden light  Granada in Spain is another place that I thought of).

*grins* I'm not sure what I picture it as, though that's as good of a base as anything to go off of! But yes, I definitely want to send my PC off to Antiva with him, damnit. I kind of liked the Awakening epilogue card for that; going to Antiva and kicking so much ass word gets all the way back to Ferelden sounds awesome, lol.

Plus the showdown in the middle of Antiva City always makes me think of a Western. Tumbleweed and all. But with Crows!

I have something I wanted to talk about in relation to Zevran, but I'm going out in a moment.  I hope I don't forget what it is when I get back.  For now, I just wanted to quickly chip in on the Rinna conversation.

I've come to think that Zevran felt more for Rinna than I initially thought.   He's so cagey about talking about love, and yet love can come up twice in that conversation.  The first time is when you say that he fell in love.   He seems to take that as read (he doesn't argue any differently).  The second time is when he says she told him she loved him.  He seems to know and accept that they were in love with each other (suggesting that they had got further down that route than he has with the warden at that point?).   

'Rinna was special.   I had closed off my heart, I thought, but she touched something within me.  It frightened me'.   That's a huge admission from someone so guarded as he is. 

He loved Rinna, but doesn't initially recognise that he loves the warden (and is still not sure even after Taliesin).  I think that his love for the warden didn't come across as a grand passion, but burned more slowly, enough so that he felt safe.    I think he ends up feeling more than he did for Rinna, but that's partly due to the circumstances.   Poor Rinna fell for the pre-transformation Zevran, who would let her die rather than face his own feelings.  The warden has the luck to fall for the changed Zevran, who won't let that happen again.

I believe Taliesin must have loved Zevran to volunteer for the job (going after him when he's probably Grey Wardens' property).  Zevran doesn't talk about Taliesin the way he talks about Rinna.   I think that if he loved him, it wasn't so intense as it as with Rinna.  

(I know I keep mispelling Taliesen).

Well I came to decision reguarding Guild Wars and it is that I won't continue to play, this is not done out anger (well a little), but the realisation that Guild Wars 2 is apparently due out next year, and as it is a completely seperate game spending so long rebuilding seems a bit pointless.

@Sannox As you know, I don't think he let himself fall in love with Rinna. I think he would have, but he was awfully quick to let her die.

I think with the warden, it was far more, and more from the start.

BUT! Regarding the relationship with the warden, it can be played either way. BOTH these points of view are supported by the dialogs.

Edit: Sannox, even the game spells "Taliesen" both ways.  I may fix that and just have it be spelled "Taliesen" if it bothers anyone.  The reason for "Taliesen"?  Because it's not PRONOUCED like "Taliesin" so I like the incorrect spelling better.

I'm actually rebuilding my database again, so I should be focusing on that -- it corrupts FAR too easily (couldn't be USER error, oh no).  I found a slight programming error in one of my scripts, but it should be invisible so I'll just sneak in the correction in ZDF 2.0 (gah, I remember why I never actually could become a programmer -- I don't have the attention to detail).

Oh, but new changes to Leliana should be up soon.  She will now act differently in a few instances when she's hardened.  No more dumping a Cousland who's getting married if they're not in a relationship OR if they're in a relationship and she's hardened.  But I'm not doing more to her.  I hope if she has serious errors, someone who loves her will fix them!

As an aside, Terra_Ex is making a Morrigan repair mod.  It will work with ZDF, and I will recommend it over my little "morrigan_fix" file.

Edit: Ok, even *I* admit this post shows I need WAY more coffee.  And a life. Or something
