Sure, blame the new girl. You started about other muffins.

course not! We will always be friends.

I still think this has to be available for the '(Well), I am' tree, besides that it looks very good. (don't mind me, when I got one thing on my mind it takes a long time to fade away)
Though Charsen and CZ should give the final answer, because they probably get this dialogue more than us female players (with mostly female Wardens). Gotta love Leliana and her ninja loving techniques.

Edit: again top of the page! Argh.

Hmmm, question again about Leliana. There actually IS a response "well, I am" to a fem PC, and I'm wondering if the followup would be better than the one for the male pc. Either is just as easy to implement.

Dialog tree 1:
Leliana: I didn't know you were... fond of other men. Not that... not that there's anything wrong with it, but I had no idea.
Warden: Well, I am.
Leliana: Oh. Well, I suppose I can see why. I just... never mind.
Leliana: I... I think I made a mistake about you. It... it's not your fault. I'm sorry.
Leliana: Shall we forget I ever brought this up? I... I think this would be best.

OR
Dialog tree 2 (which has multiple responses)
Leliana: I didn't know you were... fond of other men. Not that... not that there's anything wrong with it, but I had no idea.
Warden: Well, I am.
Leliana: Oh. I see. So you've... made your decision, I suppose?
Warden: Yes. (which leads to)
Leliana: Well, I... I wish you well then. He is... quite a catch, I suppose.
OR
Warden: N-no! I... I don't know?
Leliana: You don't have to deny it. I always thought there was something missing between us. Now I know what it is.
OR
Warden:Does this mean we can't be friends anymore?
Leliana: Of course not! We will always be friends.

I think the first one is more appropriate for a gay warden, but I don't know. What do you all think.

Edit: I can also cut out "I suppose I see why," from the first tree.  And actually I CAN combine the trees, to a certain extent, but it's a bit of a pain.

It seems odd that Leliana would cut off the romance just because the warden is into men, especially when she's bi herself.  It reads as if that's what she's doing (rather than her cutting it off over Zevran in particular).    It seems as if she is assuming that anybody 'out' is gay rather than bi, so she has got the wrong impression.  (But then, are those the same response as for 'I didn't, until he came along?' - which is meant to be a straightish guy who just happens to fall for Zevran?).   I'm confusing myself now, sorry.

The trees cannot be divided that way without a LOT of work. Which is unfortunate. You can't actually MOVE the dialog -- it causes bad things to happen because it's assigned a place. So you can paste parts of trees and such and I'd have to dink around with actually changing flags within trees so they trigger properly and that is asking to introduce bugs.

There's only so much I can do here.  The dialogs are here, it's offensive.  But I think a lot of us, when confronted with rejection, will look for an excuse, which I think is what she's doing.

I know and I'm not saying you should do it.
Like I said, when I got something on my mind it takes a while to get lost of the thought. ;)

Don't want to invite bugs. o.o
It's great that you take the time to change creepy Leliana's dialogue.

Agreed. I think it's just Leliana handling things poorly. She gets jealous, angry, and over-emotional when breakups become a possibility. At least with ejoslin's fix it's just her being stupid about it now and not the Warden as well.

GAH! what have I done! *cries under lurker desk*

And agree with nonvita about leliana's dialogue, i just see it as her excusing herself from the conversation, she's just feeling very hurt and vulnerable at that moment.

Oh, ignore my post. I was too slow and was answering the question a couple of pages back.  ETA: And it wasn't meant as a criticism at all.  I'm really grateful that you are doing this, because I hated playing that scene with my male PC.  I only posted because you asked for comments, and I know I don't really have much of use to say.

Although I do think if the answer option said something about Zevran rather than men in general, her response (So you've made your decision?) would make more sense. 'I'm fond of him' would give that, although I'd still be tempted to reply 'Well, I am', just because that answers the question better.

Something like 'Well, I am. And I'm happy with him'. or 'Well, I am, and I'm not going to give him up' - that sort of thing, would lead better into 'You've made your decision'. (Ignore the actual words I used, because I can't write convincing dialogue. I just mean someway to get the specific, Zevran, in there, to make Leliana's answer make more sense).

ETA: I'm assuming that you can change the warden's words, as long as they keep their place in the tree.  I don't understand how it all works!   I was trying to suggest that you change the warden's words, not Leliana's.    If it can't be done though, fair enough.   It will still be a lot better than what was there.

I agree that the unpleasant options should be kept in for those who want to RP them.

Found a song that's just perfect for the Wynne-romance talk. I listened to it when I got home from school and it suddenly hit me that it sounded perfect. I only copied the verses and not the chorus.

Beyonce- He's my man
You say that he's wrong
You say that he's no good
Leave him alone
'cause he's gonna hurt you
But what they don't know is how he makes me feel

You say that he creeps
Always running the streets
He's playing the game
And he'll never love me
You say that he's fake
But why does it feel so real

You say you don't trust him
Be'cause he's been locked up
You say he in trouble
'cause he out in a strip club
But you were young once
So you should understand

You say that you know
Say you've been a witness
You say it's for sure
Say he got a mistress
Until you can show me
I'm gon stand by him

I'm pretty sure I have to edit this, because format hates me.

Edit: because format hates me.

Ah, I was thinking, "Well, I am" says that he's attracted to men (which leads to her saying she was mistaken about him and apologizing) and saying, "I am fond of *him* (I have that bolded in the text)" made it more about Zevran.  I wanted there to be a straight out, "I'm gay, back off" response there as well as a "I care for Zevran more than you" response.

Edit: I haven't loaded up DT yet so there's still time to make a change.  Was I too subtle? Did I get something across that is different than I was trying to get across?

Second edit: *groan* I haven't loaded up DT and I've already corrupted the stupid toolset.  Ah well, at least I can feel good reloading everything KNOWING that it had to be done anyway.

I don't think it's too subtle. though with leliana you never know. might need to throw a shoe across the camp to throw her off the trail.

@Sannox What I am doing is pasting various trees to the new responses. When you do that, you end up with all the children, including the "end dialog" and you can't add more. What I would have to do, for instance, to add the "friendship" thing on is to put a new flag on it that it would only trigger with a male warden, paste it to the end of the female warden dialog, then paste the whole thing back to the new response. It sounds simple, but it's asking for bugs doing that to both male and female trees.

@Charsen *grin* If you do the animation, I'll add it!

Edit: Not that anyone will READ this edit, but how my @Sannox really translates is, "I'm VERY lazy about bug testing."

Any approval suggestions? *grin* I think I'll add vlow approval raise to the "well, I am" response since there's a vlow built into the other one.

edit: Charsen, you know I'm firmly in her camp on that one!

Second edit: Gah, nvm.  I won't add the approval.  That comes from saying to her, "I hope we're still friends."

OH GOD RICCCCCCCCCA WRY WRY YOU STAB MY HEART

Actually the Barrowhand has a life of it's own now. maybe I should put it in a jar, or something. If it's not leashed it has a tendancy to go around groping anything with a pulse. Check where you sit very carefully...

*ETA* so I don't sound like a complete coc-au-vin, you do know I love you about doing the dwarf kiss <3<3 amirite?

It's never too close. (Feel free to prove me wrong.)

Btw I'm getting really jealous of Soignee and how her Barrowhand gives her an excuse to grope anyone anywhere. I do that and people just think I'm a creeper. *wants a Barrowhand* :(
