@EJ: I knew I was late. Crazy work type things cutting into my Zev time. Next thing you know, I'll be letting those parenting and wife type things cut in on my elf-loving.

Don't mind me. I'm recovering from one of my students boiling ethanol without proper ventilation and getting me drunk by inhalation. Wheeeeeee! Student is in the dog house for not reading instructions. I am in my office so as not to giggle at random people.

Random mods, DF_gatekiss_alpha is now updated... contains the dwarf kiss alpha version. Extract to your documents/bioware/dragon age/packages/core/override/ folder. Remember to uninstall any mods that affect party_events first!

Hmmmmm.  I get her staring a bit above his head instead of his eyes.  I'm not sure if that is intended or not.  I have a video I could put up.  I know, I'm sorry

i have to say the DF was weird because for some reason what i make in the cutscene editor does not quite translate to what is seen in game. i did it the same way as the other combos, so this is a mystery to me. that's why there's a slight drift in her gaze... in the editor, there is no drift.

VERY weird... but i am uploading a new version of the kiss in a moment. Thankfully it takes very little time to export cutscenes compared with dialogues!

edit: new version is up in Random Mods now... but i didn't actually test it in-game, just in cutscene editor. heh... *needs caffeine or something* so let me know if it's way weird. i promise i will re-evaluate these before beta, they are just rough extensions & beauty shots right now really.

Dialogs are bad :/ I have a fast machine and it still takes a few minutes.  

Edit: And YAY!  BTW, if this is the latest version of ZDF (haven't checked), it does need the script files to run.  If it isn't, I'll shut up now!

It was the alcoholic parent thing, and also being a bit of a tough nut and not easily offended.  After growing up with a vindictive alcoholic parent I think it's easy to warm to someone who's just a bit of an interfering, moralistic old bat.    Even the Zevran talk didn't put her off too much, because it made her think about her loyalties being conflicted. . Wynne's needling was like water off a duck's back for my duster - it hardly registered.

My mage, on the other hand, couldn't stand her, and was delighted when she left after he desecrated the ashes.

woops yes i forgot to mention that. i originally planned to just release my changes & people could copy it into your mod. maybe that is too annoying though for most people? probably is. so i uploaded "gatekiss" which includes all of the files needed. should be good to go. i am working on DM now but it will not take long, it's mostly done!

At the beginning, she's still staring up in the air -- he's great, she's staring just above his head. But he pulls her face down. It could be my computer as well. *sigh* I want to smack myself right now! Because after the beginning it is incredible. I hope I'm not being obnoxious

My dwarf starts off staring in the wrong direction, but she does that for the kneeling massage kiss too.  I think she must have just go so used to looking up at people .... I like the way he pulls her head round, though. 

ETA: This is a bit weird, but I just realised that she reacts a little bit like a baby does when you touch their face, the eyes and the mouth.  Maybe that's why I like it, that it seems quite a primal reaction.  Or maybe I'm just being strange.  I do really like what her eyes and mouth do there, whatever it reminds me of.

edit: WOW she really is staring high over his head... ok i can fix that. i wonder why it isn't updating her face like this for me in the editor? well i can fix it anyway, so gimme a few! i am also getting CZ to test out the male kiss now. =)

Not the wrong direction, it's just that she always looks like she's looking slightly up instead of straight ahead. I thought it might just be the way I made the dwarf eyes. So when he drops down it there's a moment where it looks like it takes her eyes a while to follow. But then he pulls her head round so it works fine.

ETA: The video should work now.  She's looking at him at the beginning, and then she seems to lose eye contact just before he touches her face.  Actually, maybe it's because he is tilting his head.  (Or Morrigan's hat getting in the way). 

It's really lovely, and so different from the others.

I really like that he seems to put his arms right round her. And it definitely looks like he's putting his hand over her heart rather than feeling her boobies.

I still can't get over how much better these kisses are than the ones in the original game.

lol I am glad it doesn't look pervy, Sannox. i was worried it was too booby-grab. i was hoping it would be a little sweet.



i updated the kiss to hopefully make her look down. i also added a slight face nod & rotation to avoid some clipping. i have not tested it out aside from the editor. hopefully it's ok!



technically the male dwarf is in that package too, but CZ has not gotten his test character to the gate yet so i'm not sure if it works yet.
