Humidity causes scents to linger more in the air. Even if it does rain a little every day, the lingering humidity would cause the stench to simply be worse.Aroihkin wrote...
I doubt it rains as much in Antiva as it does in Ferelden, since Ferelden's rain and mud (and dogs) is how it gets described. He mentions "In Antiva it rains often, but the flowers are always in bloom... or so the saying goes." as a saying, but also says "It is a glittering gem amidst the sand, my Antiva City." which is what made me think of a desert.
That and the idea that the leather-making part of the city is supposed reek so bad, all the damn time. Lots of rain would make that part of town stink less, I'd think?
But I dunno. My impressions are not in the least bit set in stone!
Hm, good point. All depends on the kind of rain, I'd suppose. A good downpour seems to wipe things out briefly, to me, and it certainly at least makes the city less chemically for a brief time... but it might not be a good proper rain that they get. And if it's always humid... yeah.
Edit: Not Zev-specific, but it made me lol. Alley's meeting with the king went something like this.

Oh, city elves.
