Aaaand because I wasn't in the thread much (at all?) yesterday, I didn't get a chance to pimp share this -- a tiny snippet spawned from the discussion of Zev's reading habits a couple days ago.  (Some of you may have seen it already, it hasn't changed any. )  I don't usually advertise my writing here, but this one's a prime example of how awesome this thread is -- I'd probably never have had the idea otherwise!

Thanks for your comments about my picture - you are really kind.  But I didn't mean for it to go on the list!  I've removed the link now.  I just wanted to show that the thread has inspired me.   I loved art at school, and wasn't bad at it back then, but stopped more or less completely when I left at 16.    So I suppose I draw like a 15 year old who hasn't practiced for around three decades. quite some time.  I can't say any of the other threads have inspired me to do anything creative!  It's just such a hotbed of creativity here that it's difficult to resist the impulse.

You can tell Alistair that he was great, but all you can tell Zevran  is that it wasn´t really enjoyable.

However, Zevran is by far more sympathic and he is also more in love with your PC. That sh!thead Alistair dumps you if he´s king, I still wish you could kill him for that...

It´s just, I get the impression that Zevran does not as much care for sex as for love, more so than the others. I have even heard - though not tried myself - you could romance him without ever sleeping with him. That doesn´t work with the others afaik.

It is nice to see that Zevran attracts people from different generations, that's part of his charm and probably a reason why he was so good at assassinating people.. the only one not falling for it is Wynne (who seriously needs assassinating).

@Sannox I know what you mean by this thread being a hotbed of creativity, I wouldn't have done any of what I have without it, it made me draw my first real picture in over a year, unfortunely my scanner doesn't want to work (*kicks scanner*) and I'm considering writing something which I haven't done since a virus wiped my external harddisk about two years ago...

Alistair is all unceratin and OMG, and Zevran is cocky (lol pun), I've always figured that's why.

And you can romance Zev without ever touching him, but even Isabella wants to tap that. Again, rather. XD And the last time he apparently killed her husband and then escaped into the night. Still naked, IIRC. Or maybe that was just my imagination at work~

Ear nibbling!  Didn't you write your letter for Zevran when we were discussing it on the thread too?  Or is that already on the list?   I loved that!  And your Satinalia story, which cheered me up after Awakening.

Hmm, I'm sure others will reply faster, but I'm going to have a go at it anyway!

Comments on the fellas' performances serve very different purposes, i think.  Telling Alistair he was good would be a way to reassure someone who's very very new to physical intimacy.  On the other hand, everything you hear about Zevran (mostly directly from him, but Isabela sure wasn't complaining) implies that he both enjoys sex and is very good at it.  It IS a tool for him, it would pay for him to be an expert at it, wouldn't it?  Telling him he wasn't any good just seems like a way to deflate his ego a bit -- especially since he just ****ily says that your sleeping with him was inevitable!

That being the case, though, the fact that you CAN romance him *mostly* without sex is kind of amazing.  You've managed to make a nymphomaniac fall in love with you without ever sleeping with him.  I would think that would be more of a turn-on than a turn-off, but to each their own, I suppose!

Oh, yes -- and mine wasn't the only letter, either!  (That, interestingly, was also Sresla's doing.  He doesn't pop in here often, but when he does, hmm. XD)

It´s LOL how you all hate me now though in fact I like Zevran. Unfortunately he doesn´t fit to my playstyle to have him in the fights, but on account of his personality he is actually my favourite teammemberB).


I do, however, still think that he sucks in bed. Probably that´s why he has to murder most of his partners - to prevent them from ruining his fame by telling the tale.  Only the fews like Isabel or the Warden who liked it are left alive and can tell about his greatness.

Guess that´s how you can manipulate public opinion, too.

Yeah on Missa she had no self restraint and needed a good shag. Zevran oblidged! One of these days I'll make a really clueless warden who is all "sorry, what? Lamposts? Massages? What?" And such, but I have trouble making someone that naive a believable leader at the same time. Hrrm. Maybe I can just do it for the lulz...

Ah, thanks for the explanation.  I agree with the others - there are just so many other hints that he's good in bed.  I did try that option once to see what happened, and I think he laughed it off (although he probably lost approval).   He seems confident of his ability.

I think he's the only companion whose approval goes up every time you have sex with him.  So rather than sex being a tool for him, it's something that makes him fall in love with you.  I find that romantic.  (Although he can fall in love without sex too, of course).   Later, when he's talking about love, he says that he has been 'confused' since the first time you aske him to your tent - the first time you ask him to have sex is when he starts falling in love.    So while I think he would normally be capable of happy, casual sex (and nothing wrong with that - I approve), with the warden, sex gets mixed up with love right from the beginning.

He could use sex to gain favour with the warden, but I don't feel that he does.  At the beginning he waits to be asked.  He only asks himself when his approval is higher, and then it's because he notices that you are stressed and he cares.

My dwarf commoner (my first character) was just the same.  I/she had a hard time understanding all the beating about the bush.  I thought that if the warden was spending all her time in blood, guts and death, she'd be desparate for a bit of sex as a kind of anitdote.  I mean, was there any reason not to do it?  It was such a relief to finally pick up Zevran and be done with the game playing.
