Helping with the plagiarist poking. This is fun!

My suggestion is this, if he won't play nice and he thinks it is perfectly hunky dory to use other people's hard work without letting them know; we use his bug list, fix the bugs ourselves and credit his list like normal civil people would. Then we have all the fixes and the kisses and no one needs to give the butthead credit. I have low tolerance for people who use others work without giving simple credit. I'll even brush off my C++ skills for this one and enlist the help of the programmer hubby.

I refrained intentionally, just to save your cookies. Mary Stewart and Bernard Cornwell had interesting takes on that legend imo. Not to talk about Zimmer Bradley.

Willing to help, too.  I've been meaning to get my head into the toolset more, since it's so much like ArcGIS in construction and I have such a raging nerd-on for that program.

Most of the fiction I read surrounding that tale ends up being porn to a character inserted into the story just to sleep with everyone. Often is the Daughter of Merlin<_<. I immediately turn them back into the library, I want a story with plot and conflict, not wish fullfillment.

Those are nothing like that. Mary Stewart wrote The Crystal Cave et al in the 70's, Cornwell is maybe a little dry historian, Zimmer Bradley has a strong feminist stint in her books. Might be a bit too new age oriented for a modern reader, though. In the 80's it was somewhat new.

Entertaining, nevertheless.

*snort* I have to draw a threeway for the Zevran LJ exchange, featuring Lady Aeducan, Zevran and Alistair. How's that for interracial relations?

Lulz.

Can only work on it once chapter 16 is done. God, I swear Duster won't be finished until the summer. GODDAMIT.

I still have nightmares from teaching myself AcrGIS during my PhD. *shudders*  I've been slowly poking my toe into the toolset, but this seems like a worthy reason to set aside some time to dig into it in earnest (and co-opt the hubby. Shhh, don't tell him yet. :P)

I'll check them out, then. Everyone here has pretty good taste so I'll trust you.

I must have bad luck when choosing books based on those stories. The summaries are pretty good, but by the 10th chapter its like my mom's "romance" porn novels.

Wow, you must have had an interesting Ph.D.  A Google search for "AcrGIS" brings up a hit for "lesbian vampire killers".  ;)

Editing failed, so I'll try this: Do check T.H. White's The Once and Future King, It's hilarious at times, dead serious at other times. The Questing Beast and the ants came to mind.

EDIT: Ooops.
