Editing failed, so I'll try this: Do check T.H. White's The Once and Future King, It's hilarious at times, dead serious at other times. The Questing Beast and the ants came to mind.

EDIT: Ooops.

I saw it and thank you again for posting it.B)

Helping with the plagiarist poking. This is fun!

My suggestion is this, if he won't play nice and he thinks it is perfectly hunky dory to use other people's hard work without letting them know; we use his bug list, fix the bugs ourselves and credit his list like normal civil people would. Then we have all the fixes and the kisses and no one needs to give the butthead credit. I have low tolerance for people who use others work without giving simple credit. I'll even brush off my C++ skills for this one and enlist the help of the programmer hubby.

Willing to help, too.  I've been meaning to get my head into the toolset more, since it's so much like ArcGIS in construction and I have such a raging nerd-on for that program.

I still have nightmares from teaching myself AcrGIS during my PhD. *shudders*  I've been slowly poking my toe into the toolset, but this seems like a worthy reason to set aside some time to dig into it in earnest (and co-opt the hubby. Shhh, don't tell him yet. :P)

Wow, you must have had an interesting Ph.D.  A Google search for "AcrGIS" brings up a hit for "lesbian vampire killers".  ;)

ROFLMAO I wish my Ph.D. had been that interesting!  Sadly, that was the year of my life I wasted chasing my tail because my advisor was an idiot.  Then I started ignoring him and everything proceeded smoothly.  He spent my entire defense saying, "I didn't know you did that."

I just want you to know, I read that as "that was the year of my life I wasted chasing tail because" and I was going to ask how that was a waste.

Well, that is the year I met my husband, so I suppose I was chasing tail as well. ;)

I think I stopped skimming (not enough caffeine for a proper read) before it got really sh*tty in there, other than the initial "They did WHAT?"

I'm just pompomming over here for people sticking up for themselves and such. And sort of glad I'm not a modder, in a way. Much as I'd love to contribute, the potential for drama is kinda scary.

My experience with it is you either do nothing and go "dammit I'm missing 420!" or you try to do something and just end up with all your super stoner friends making you have a ****ty time telling you you're not doing everything exactly how you're supposed to do everything on 420.

That said, it seems like a proper celebration could have done some great things for many people in many places today...

I just wanted to pop back in and say THANK YOU!  And :wub::wub::wub:

This thread is the best.  It's past my bedtime, but I still wanted to say  some more.

And Zevran as Zorro?  Yeh.

I think that hair's in one of the extra hair mods. I kinda like it even if I never use it. XD

And I dunno, guys, not my artwork... but he doesn't look at all like a girl to me.

The truth is nowhere near as interesting as the fantasy. I did, however, write a paper about lesbian vampires for a Gothic Literature class, once. Oh, Carmilla, you have some of the most effed up romance lines....

EJ: The funny thing is that he seems to have absolutely no idea what it is you fixed. Thus my repeated, and repeatedly ignored, calls for him to actually contact the mod authors from which he is gleaning his information. I'm not sure why he feels the need to fix everything himself aside from wanting all the credit.

Somehow, I missed this post.  My professor for my computer aided cartography classes wrote his own book because all the others sucked.  And then he wrote us all checks for his royalties from the sale of each of our books, so we just paid his printing costs.  He was about a hundred different kinds of awesome.  Him and his bionic knee.

I needed your prof.  My adviser initially stuck me with ArcView 3, a bad set of instructions for doing the analyses in ArcView 2 written by a long-gone post-doc who didn't speak English, and a computer that took days to run anything.  I tracked down the appropriate program in another department, taught myself how to use it via the unhelpful "help" files, and then discovered that all of the results were meaningless because of a mistake on my adviser's part.  It's the chapter in my dissertation that I wanted to title, "Reasons My Adviser Should Lose His Tenure."  Instead he lost his funding, but that is another story entirely and had nothing to do with me. :P

And wow...that is just beautiful.  *sigh*

I named my latest dog Cobal. (I forgot the T, he was supposed to be Cobalt, I'm going to try to keep on a geology based naming theme, after DirtDiggler....)

Yeah to some great Zev artwork. Love it!

And what's this about someone stealing our thread leaders' hard worked mods and not crediting it?

Lemme at em, I'll gluten free cookie 'em to death.

And speaking of cookies, if all goes well I will be leaving the wonderful world of environmental consulting and opening a bakery.....Here's three cheers to 20 hour work days standing on my feet the whole time!
