There are some pretty nasty concentrated contact poisons that take very little to kill. (I sound like a total psycho here, but toxins are kind of my research area).

Pharmacology, chemistry, or biology?

Yes. :P Seriously though, my lab identifies microbes that make toxins, purify the toxins, identify genes/regulation, and identify mode of action.  The primary goal is to look at community structure, but we've identified a couple of potential drug candiates as well.

Edit: Seriously? Top of page with that?! Okay, some of my favorite eye-candy...

Get ME first and try it. Much more fun to play wit an imported character.

The way that line is, that he could ingest it and it could already be killing the Warden... I don't read that as "by the way, the soup may have been poisoned". XD

That's not quite what I meant.  I edited my post, but I'll say it again because I like to type!

He uses more than one method to assassinate.  He talks about using both poison and seduction (but in separate circumstances).  Had he wanted to kill the warden, he had had ample opportunity to do so using poison.  Had his intentions still be to assassinate the warden, it would have been done using poison.  There was no reason for him to seduce the warden to assassinate her.

The direct method didn't work the first time, so yeah. I can see using poison if he was going to go at it again, particularly now that he's by himself.

Gives him a head start to start running from the rest of the group, too. XD

Oh who isn't copping a feel in that picture? Image IPB

I'm kind of concerned that I appear to be more interested in myself than in anyone else, though...

That is what I play. If you can play DAO on PC, you can play ME2.

Spiffy!  Streptomyces?  Those suckers are responsible for practically every interesting bacterial secondary metabolite.  :P

I worked with a bacterial product, from Streptomyces, of course.

Your wish is my command:

Warden: How do I know this isn't part of your plan?
Zevran: Hmm. This is true. Seducing the assassination target is a sound tactical choice. (serious)
Zevran: Do you know there are poisons that I can ingest which would be harmless to me and yet be already killing you as we speak? (teasing)

Edit: To me it seems like he's saying if he wanted her dead, he would have just poisoned the food.

But then he goes and loses approval on you if you have that conversation... Image IPB

I got ME shortly after it was released only to find my computer couldn't handle the graphics.  After I got my new computer, I loaded it up only to find frakking Windows 7 keeps bombing it out.  I don't seem to be destined to play it . . .Image IPB

I always took it to mean ingested poisons, but there are some rather nasty contact poisons out there irl, so I suppose it is possible.  I never actually thought of it that way.

If you have an xbox, get it for xbox**. The graphics are still incredible, and in my (personal) opinion, shooter gameplay is a helluva lot more fun with a controller.

**the point of this was that the lag is generally cut by tenfolds, in my experience.

Actually not here for the lulz this time, but a serious question. What's Zevran defence of the mages? I can;t find it on toolset. Herpderp.

I believe it has something to do with the fact that the mages are all locked into the Tower, unable to flee or really have a chance to fight back. It would be a slaughter, instead of the Warden and his/her party acting in defense of themselves, or the defense of innocents. I think.

Ejoslin/someone will likely ninja me with the Toolset quotes.

Zevran: I am hardly the person to lecture on the worthier points of human nature, but surely this is a fine time to display the oft-lauded virtue known as mercy? (Uncomfortably trying to give his opinion. A little awkward.)
Zevran: I deserved to die, and you spared me. Why are you so quick to condemn these mages? (Uncomfortably trying to give his opinion. A little awkward.)
Warden: Magic and knives are different.
Zevran: Magic can kill. Knives can kill. Even small children launched at great speed could kill. (Trying to make his point and yet lighten the mood.)
Zevran: Why single out the wielders of one and not the others? (Accusingly.)
Warden: Mages can do more damage with one spell than you ever could.
Zevran: Mm. Touché.(Grudgingly.)
Zevran: I've taken the lives of many throughout my career, but this is no measured act. There is no chase, no hunt, no dignity in this... there is only slaughter. (Sounds a little unnerved.)
Warden: What about the people they might slaughter? (persuade check)
Zevran: I've thought about it, but... ah, I don't know why I'm so concerned about this to begin with. (persuade check passed) (Possibly tossing his hands up in the air and giving up trying to convince someone of something.)
Zevran: Do as you like. Certainly the notions of morality brought up by a professional assassin are dubious at best, yes? (Possibly tossing his hands up in the air and giving up trying to convince someone of something.)
OR
Zevran: Might, not will. Committing genocide just because something might happen is more than the mark of a weak mind. It is insanity. (persuade check failed) (Fervently, he feels strongly about this.)
Zevran: As I said, it is not the killing I object to. It is the senselessness of it. I cannot support this. (Firm.)

OR

Zevran: I deserved to die, and you spared me. Why are you so quick to condemn these mages?
Warden: You're a lot better-looking than most of the mages. (female pc)
Zevran: Why, thank you. Flattery would normally distract me, but not today. Inconvenient, no? (Wryly.)
Zevran: I've taken the lives of many throughout my career, but this is no measured act. There is no chase, no hunt, no dignity in this... there is only slaughter.

Actually, there are a lot of trees to this conversation. A LOT of them. It's under cir230_cullen

edit: redoing this in a different format.

Second edit: Actually, no, it's too complicated a tree.  I can copy and paste all of it, which would most likely be easier, but it's easiest to just read it if you can.

Wow... just by the amount of back and forth there, even before the Persuade checks, you can see he feels pretty strongly about it...

Shading will help with the semi-sideways perspective on it, but argh anyway.

And here's the oh-so-cleverly-named progression folder.

Yeah.. It's like when you tell the werewolves, "Why not kill the Dalish?". The conversation there is just as strong.

And while Ejoslin didn't ninja me, she still got the Toolset out and gave the accurate answer. I was close, though!!
