What's the (Romantic) Appeal of Zevran?

It wouldn't be so bad if it were at least interesting. Lord of the Flies and Battle Royale were pretty F-ed up in their own rights, but they kept you entertained. This is just boring, excessive, and poorly written. Meh. Don't even want to read the deaths for the annoying characters, let alone the good ones.

Edit: Oh well, Zevran still kicks ass. <3

@CZ, that New Avvie is Sexilicious.

@Minaleth, love the Zevran Futurama! Needs Bender in there too, with a cigar and shot of whiskey.

Alright. I had my first Zevran Dream last night...with Mass Effect characters also, lol.
So, from what I can remember I was Shepard, leading Garrus,Wrex, and Zevran (who had green eyes from some reason) into a club that looked suspiciously like the spa/brothel/club in the "Tank Girl" (Lorri Petty) movie, I didn't see Roo Ice-T:crying:.

A group of people attack me, and Zevran throws in with them against me. Apparently he thought I betrayed him in some way. After I own everyone Zevran is standing there laughing, and ready to kill me, claiming I was going to sell him out. I reply to him, "I wasn't selling you out, I was trying to get the Crows to show themselves. So I could free you."

He stood absolutely still, green eyes(I don't know why!) widening, and filling with tears...the last thing I remember before I woke up were those tear-filled green eyes(still trying to figure it out), and his face in the most heartbreaking expression of shock, sadness and happiness, and I was trying to press the Print/Screen button to take screen shots.

But the tear filled green eyes, and a close up of his face, holy crap guys.

Green eyes? Why where they green? They were pretty but why?:?

Ok, here's the deal. Anyone/Everyone can copy and edit this list. Keep it snowballing.
Only rule: if the Zevthread in any way inspired the creation or continuation of a Zev-themed project, add it. (Mods made for Zevran but not inspired by this thread shouldn't be added, those go on Sresla's big list of Zev mods etc though!). =P

Can be... groups, mods, threads, fanfics, fanarts, blogs, whatever...this is what we will paste to the haters

Then when we're all good and happy let's stick it up on Sresla's group page and bring it out like crispy old photos of semi-naked grandchildren for Thanksgiving.

Links if ya got em.

The Worth of this Thread:

Updating with Princess and Alicorn.

Edit: Trip that is hilarious! And ain't nothing wrong with green eyes! :P

Yeah, I agree totally the writer really should go watch those films to see how it should be done.

Oh, I almost forgot did you do that cheek tattoo? If not don't worry about it.

@ Triplight. That's so funny that you were trying to press the Print Screen button. Maybe that's what woke you up!

I often dream that I'm in game worlds. It's fun. I get to play computer games in my sleep. It's nice that your dream had a bit of a story.

I'm keeping my vote as a tactical pinch hit vote, in case it ever matters. Will vote for whoever is 'winning' later.

Still rather annoyed at poll author not taking criticism well, but eh. That's done since last night.

Slowly catching up!

@ Creature 1 / whole medicine debate -- I'm still working out how to handle it, myself. I had Alley's busted ribcage take a week, almost two to heal with regular shots of healing magic and the like. I'm probably going to handle it closer to how I handled Amberdrrake's healing abilities in Multiverse Haven. Soft tissue is easy, bones take more doing, and complex things like badly damaged eyeballs take a really long time if it's even salvageable at all. I'll scale it back closer to "Faster" rather than "Slower" overall though, so that people aren't stuck limping around for half the story. I like mangling characters, so it's something I'm having to wrangle out sooner rather than later m'self. :/

Charsen's idea of possible overdose is a damn interesting one, too. *ponders*

Edit: Zapp, Amy and font are stolen, Zevran is made by Simpsons Avatar and adjusted by me. In case you are not familiar with Futurama, go check Wiki because you are missing it's awesomeness.

I lol'd so hard. And the yellow tone fits, it's not much different than some of the base shades I've been having to use in MS Paint. XD

All right, currently Velanna is quite in the lead, but hopefully that'll keep up since Loghain and Zevran are 2nd and 3rd respectively! :pinched:

Edit: Although seriously, this stupid Survivor thing is turning into one of the most god-awful, depraved pieces of fanfic I've read...

The writer has issues...

I'm not sure if they think their writing is "edgy" or if the whole point is to kill the characters in the most over the top and stupid ways the writer can imagine, etheir way it doesn't make good reading.

From now on I think I will just vote and not read.

Yeah, I read Wynne's a few minutes ago and wasn't impressed. And I find it discouraging how they're treating Zev already, I think they're just itching to do something nasty to him.

Also, they have weapons!  WHY CAN'T THEY JUST SLIT THROATS. Sigh.

Not reading either at this point, will just vote. It's better for my writing-monster that I keep it on a low-stupid diet. *shoves writing-kibble at it between the cage bars* There you go, get the taste out of your mouth.

And lol at my WIP being on the list. No point fixing it until the full version is done though. :P

i mean if you think about it... say a single drop of an overdosed potion is enough to cause you to have a seizure or heart attack or worse. it would then be better for you to just let your body heal than to risk such a thing usually.

that was how my WoD group dealt with potions (we had a rule that you had to have a certain amount of skill in medicine to even consider them, and it still had a chance to flat out kill you when used)

...You played WoD? World of Darkness?

<- Changeling player~ that version of Alleyana was an autumn Scathach Sidhe. Tannusen was an unseelie tiger Pooka with a taste for human. I played very dark, gritty fae.

OD is a very interesting idea, one could easily set up a dice table for how bad something like that can mess with you, like the "nightmare dice" in Changeling.

"By the way, it half-healed you and you're lucky it didn't kill you, but you'll be puking blood at least twice a day for three days! Congrats! :D"

I've decided to do the armor details, 19.5 hours. His head's starting to look a little odd to me simply because it has the most complex shading so far, and I think I need to counter that with more complex stuff in the picture elsewhere. His arm and fingers aren't going to cut it, they're far too simple. Shading his hair to give him an actual skull will help too, I know.

Crappy reduction is crappy, but:

And yes, I seem to be putting off drawing the elbow-pad, and no, I don't know why. Maybe it just bores amuses me.

I'd invite you guys to my roommate's game, but we're kind of dead right now due to a bunch of people being eaten by RL. The setting's interesting though, everyone's a super of some kind within a traveling Carnivale, there's no real OOC masque and not necessarily one IC either. It's -- hell, I'll just paste one of the MUSH's news files. :P

"news carnivale" and "news carnivale2" says...

THE BEGINNING

The year is 2009 at the start of the game. The Week of Nightmares and White Wolf's 'Apocalypse' stories are canon, here, but if that was the the opening salvo in the end of the world, no further shots have been fired. The world hasn't ended, nor has it been plunged into darkness. Everyone awaited the storm that was expected to come, but it never came. The world continues as it always has.

At some point in the year 2000, a Defiler Demon named Loki began to travel North America and collect outcasts and pariahs of the various races of supernatural beings, claiming to do so at the behest of an unseen entity known only as Management. Soon Loki and this band of rabble began to perform as a modern day freakshow and carnival under the name The Carnivale of Secrets. These performances gave Vampires a chance to feed, Mages a chance to gather Quintessence, Changelings a chance to collect Glamour, and Shifters a chance to gather Renown. It really is a means to an end, and a method of survival for the nomadic refugees that populate the carnivale's ranks.

JOINING THE RANKS

Nobody goes looking for the carnivale. It finds you. Outcasts, rejects, outlaws, pariahs and misfits all, the members of the carnivale were to a body approached by Loki at a time of need and given safe haven with kindred spirits. Some were just down on their luck. Others were facing death. Whatever the case, everybody is running from something or trying to leave behind an unpleasant past. Loki came to them and offered them the protection of Management in return for service as a performer or roustabout. He came to you, too, just when you needed it, and you accepted Management's offer.

MEETING MANAGEMENT

Everyone is brought to a small, modest trailer at the back of which is a curtained off area. The genderless voice of Management clearly comes from behind the curtain, but any attempts to approach the curtain are repelled by an amazing force of strength, and any attempts to sense what lies behind the curtain with various powers result in a blank slate of nothingness. There is only the voice. Nothing more. Management offered you a place in a world you were no longer feeling welcome in. It offered you everything you need to survive - blood, Glamour, money - and the safety of its protection while within the carnivale's boundaries. In return you agreed to perform or assist the show backstage, and on occasion do favors at Management's request. The more you were running from, the more you agreed to do for it in return. Some of you owe it your life - or more - and one day it just might ask for it.

Alleyana is/was the head of Security for the carnivale. She got to be all menacing and stuff. Good fun!

I read the bolded apart as "due to a bunch of people being eaten in RL", I'm not sure if it's because I'm tired or because I'm hungry...hmm I'm going go for the former.

That or that horrible writing is affecting me worse then I though...

Anyway...It sounds cool.

Hahaha, considering some of them haven't been heard from in any online respect for a good long while now, that might not be inaccurate.

Edit: Now that I think of it, mostly the ones who didn't believe Changelings could be scary-powerful (because so few play them for the badass, most everyone plays them for the lulz). Maybe Alley shanked them. She was one of the toughest cookies on the grid, as befitting when she might have to headlock anyone at any given time for Management.

Folks were happy enough to see her busted face whenever it looked like our resident werewolf might go nuts on people, as just one example. She'd stroll into the area, coffee in hand, and just... wait. XD

yup, my brother-in-law got me into a Sabbat Mexico City game and then later Mage game some years ago. he and my sister are huge table-top gamers. they are in about 3-4 games a week or something nuts

iirc i played an antitribu Tremere first (got killed by some piece of crap cammy) then when we played the transition from oWoD to nWoD i was a gangrel. the Mage game was set in a world like Pan's Labyrinth mixed with Silent Hill...i played a mostly average joe detective who had a low degree of death/spirit/mind spheres

i sometimes miss WoD though, it's better RP than D&D usually and less pretentious than LotR crap. i haven't RPed in a while though
