Good crepes are good.  Bad crepes are lame.  This one was fresh spinach and egg and colby jack cheese on a wheat crepe.  All ingredients came from the farmers' market.  It was extremely tasty.  That's my partner holding it, by the way.

We had breakfast at the local farmers' market on Saturday morning, and those are what we had.  The ice cream is made by some guy who sells it out of the back of a freezer truck, gets his milk from some dairy near where he lives....  Those two flavors are "Bourbon Ball Crunch" (I'm not kidding about how much Central Kentuckians like their bourbon) and "Red Velvet Swirl" (which is mouthgasmic, I've grabbed one every time I have the appropriate change left over since he showed up at the market a year and a half ago).  Most of his flavors are weird and/or seasonal or one-offs, though he does sell vanilla and fruit flavors for the whole season.

I don't like eggs. >.>

We also got a place where they sell ice cream with a lot of strange flavors; Red Bull Energy Drink, Snickers, 'Grandmother's Apple Pie'.. that sort of stuff.

You have no idea what you're talking about.  Spinach pie=awesome.

The first time I ever successfully worked with phyllo dough was making a spanokopita for my birthday.  It was delicious.  It's technically a sort of pie, so, there.

Exactly.  It actually is spanakopita, but most people won't know what that is.  And it is yummy, but not as yummy as those pictures look.

On-topic: may I suggest for page 1000, a page of on-topic spam, in celebration of our favorite Antivan?  Fanart (your own or others'), screenshots, links to fanfic, whatever -- just a whole page of on-topic?  (It's only, what, 25 posts? I know we can do it! 

And hey, if you had something you wanted to post but missed the 1000th page, post it anyway?  The party can go on for a while, right?

Hm... his flavors are all local things.  One of these days I expect to see Ale-8-1 ice cream, and then I'll be culturally obligated to try it, and probably dislike it.

@Sami: Can I come over?  I'll take care of those oranges and spanakopita for you, then you'll have an excuse to order out or something.  Or, uh, I'll bring you ice cream.  I think there's a shop that sells that guy's ice cream in pints somewhere.

Don't joke!  That region produces most of my favorite foods.  My favorite Mediterranean place in town was Turkish, and recently changed owners (and cooks).  I have lost their amazing food and awesome kitchen banter forever.  ;_;  Oh, the terrible and socially inappropriate things I'd do for one more bowl of Ahmed's lentil soup or a mujver....

My Greek grandmother and Italian grandmother fought over who would get to give me cooking lessons.  The result is that I have a pretty large repetoire of Mediterranean foods. So, no joke.  I'll feed you any time you pass my way and you don't even need to do socially inappropriate things for my lentil soup.
