2. nod, and agree
3. offer food

it's true.... but im not there to give an opinion anyway, and that's if i even understand what is going on (which is unlikely anyway). i'm just there to make them feel better. even if they were totally wrong, they dont need to hear that from me

Yes but we're talking the funny here.

In reality when I get pissed off I either rant -- and my rants have drawn small crowds and birthed many an inside joke, I've done impromtu standup before -- or I simmer brood in my natural habitat, solitude.

Not that I'd turn down a hot native guy in the audience for the former. He might be gay, but I can still enjoy the view.

Generally the last thing I want is total silence in any situation RL, I prompt constantly for an "uh-huh" or a "yeah", all thanks to my mother who wouldn't even glance up from the TV when I talked to her, never said a word, and freely admitted to others that she thought it was funny to "tune out her kid". Ah, relatives.

And if I'm emo, I'm probably off distracting myself with fic (or art), marathoning something, or just wallowing in it. Or killing sh*t in a game. Company is permissible and possibly preferred, but not generally required for that.

I'm probably not very good at being a girl, truthfully.

But in funny-land, sure, I'll bawl on everyone's shoulders and steal frozen chocolate and force everyone to watch NCIS, and we'll call it a wrap as far as my involvement probably goes.

Edit: Also, any of the above invovles copious amounts of literal bona-fide armflail. I have it down to a fine art.

It really does seem to help, especially when it gets so bad your mostly-blind roommate points it out and then there are lulz.

I guess my rants help because it turns the ARGH into LOL, at least for a while. Although sometimes it takes repeated applications on the same topic for it to actually stick. And there are some topics it will never work on beyond fifteen minutes or so. Like my aunt. Lovely woman... I'd like to brick her in the face.

Mostly though, yeah. My rants are usually win.
