One thing that is interesting in the mage-templar dragon ae part is the ability to convince your companions to fight for a particular side. For example i am able to convince merril if i am in a romance or using a diplomatic tone to support the templars. I am also able to convince aveline to fight on whichever side that i pick if the friendship is good enough.. I was thinking about this today cause these characters probably hhad different values before the mage-templar war and i was wondering what the ramifications for influencing their decision could be? Would fenris grow a soft spot for the mages? Would varric have a different outlook on life? SPECULATION!
In ME2 after their loyalty missions Legion and Tali have an argument. If you solve this argument through Paragon/Renegade then Tali gains a bit of a soft spot for the geth in Mass Effect 3.
If they did something like this in DA3 with Fenris, Aveline, Etc., then I think it would be pretty interesting.
Maybe if you let Varric keep the Idol Shard in DA2 then he might have a slight change, but I honestly don't think they should change Varric that much. I love Varric's character and I don't want to it to be an Anders type change (Wasn't a big fan of the way they changed him).
