Okay so im at the point where you go to Lake Calenhad and talk to the innkeeper. He said he was being watch so i killed the guys watching him. went back for information and... nothing. all his lines are the ones he has before the quest, yet he still is marked on my map as the quest mark for the UoSA quest. However, since i cant ask him anything, I cant advance the quest...

Have you been to the Brother's house in denerim? You have to talk to some guy in there.

Yes there is a house in Denerim across from the pub entrance, It is called brother genetivi's house go in there
